Abstract

In Indonesia, especially West Java Province, there are quite a lot of rivers with quite high or mountainous elevation differences, generally, these rivers are used as tourist attractions which are located far from residential areas. To meet electricity needs, an alternative is to convert the river flow into electricity, either used for lighting or simply to charge electronic devices such as gadgets. One solution is to make small turbines that can be moved and can be produced in large quantities. Through this activity, a simulation analysis will be carried out on previously available designs so that existing weaknesses can be seen so that they can become evaluation material for subsequent designs. The stages of activities carried out include the study stage of simulations using CFD to determine deficiencies in inflow performance and also serve as material for the evaluation of subsequent designs. From the results of the simulation that has been carried out, the flow in the existing equipment has a decrease when it hits the cross-flow turbine blade so that the flow is not at its optimal speed, besides that the kinetic energy has not been completely converted into mechanical energy which can be seen in the velocity distribution picture, namely the flow still has a speed when it enters the outlet hole, this becomes a loss for the tool and becomes a note for evaluation for further tool design.

Abstract

PT XYZ merupakan suatu perusahaan joint venture, terdapat 2 (dua) macam proses produksi, yaitu Proses Casting dan Proses Machining, dalam proses produksi Casting, tersedia produk FC (Ferro Casting), FCD (Ferro Casting Ductile) dan dapat juga melaksanakan proses Machining, Assembling serta Metal Forming. Penghargaan yang telah diperoleh Cost Reduction Program, Good Delivery Perfomance, Good Cost Perfomance, dan Kategori Proses. Salah satu fokus terkait Cost Reduction Program bertujuan optimalisasi konsumsi dan biaya penggunaan tungsten, serta biaya tenaga kerja. Kegiatan merupakan kontribusi akademisi memberikan rekomendasi bagi PT.XYZ dalam rangka menyelesaikan masalah di Industri. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan optimalisasi proses carbon analyzer di PT.XYZ menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental dengan pemberlakuan volume tungsten pada setiap tahap eksperimen. Tahapan meliputi penyiapan alat, peralatan dan sampel, proses penimbangan dan pencampuran, proses treatment carbon analyzer, analisis hasil eksperimen dan kalkulasi reduksi biaya dan menyusun kesimpulan. Eksperimen yang diterapkan diantaranya volume 0, 0.75, 1.5 dan 1.8 Gram pada Treatmen Carbon Analyzer.  Hasil kegiatan diperoleh bahwa semakin banyak penggunaan volume tungsten pada proses carbon analyzer, dapat mengurangi waktu pengerjaan yang dibutuhkan oleh mesin carbon analyzer sebanyak 3 (tiga) detik. Penggunaan tungsten 0,75gram (½ dari standard) lebih efektif mampu menghemat biaya penggunaan tungsten (Cost Reduction). Selanjutnya terkait dengan penghematan, dengan menggunakan penerapan tungsten 0,75gram dapat menghemat biaya sebesar Rp 14.149.779/bulan dan penghematan biaya tenaga kerja sebesar 250.000/bulan.

Abstract

Finite element numerical simulation (FEA) has a function to analyze the design model and as a validation of the analysis results against manual calculations. FEA simulation uses specialized software to save time and cost. The purpose of the FEA simulation on this design model is to analyze the strength of the design model against a deformation. In this study, a strength test will be carried out on one of the sub-assemblies on the fishing equipment tensile and compressive testing machine, namely the fishing tools holder sub-assembly. The reason for the simulation is that the sub-assembly is directly related to compressive or tensile forces with relatively large units. The material used for this sub-assembly design is SS400 material or ASTM A36 Carbon Steel. The simulation process was carried out in 10 iterations using the curvature-based mesh method with mesh size settings of 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5.8, 5.6, 5.4, 5.2, and 5. The maximum stresses that occurred and reached convergence were at mesh sizes 5.8, 5.6, 5.4, and 5.2 in sequence with stress values of 137 MPa, 136 MPa, 142 MPa, and 135.7 MPa, respectively. The finite element analysis results show that the fishing tools holder design produces a maximum stress of 142 MPa at the converging area, with a factor of safety (FoS) of 1.8. Based on these simulations, the design of the fishing tools holder can be implemented on the Fishing Equipments Tensile Test and Press Test Machine.

Abstract

Mesin Computer Numerical Control (CNC) merupakan peralatan manufaktur yang dikendalikan oleh komputer dengan bahasa numerik. Salah satu jenisnya adalah CNC Milling yang menggunakan sistem hidrolik melalui Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) untuk proses clamp dan unclamp material kerja. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah tekanan hidrolik yang tidak stabil dan suhu HPU yang tinggi akibat beban kerja berlebih (overload), sehingga menyebabkan lemahnya sistem clamping, meningkatnya konsumsi oli hidrolik, serta bertambahnya downtime mesin. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, dilakukan modifikasi dan instalasi tambahan pada pompa HPU. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi kerusakan, studi literatur, perancangan modifikasi, pengadaan komponen, instalasi, pengujian, dan evaluasi hasil. Hasil modifikasi menunjukkan bahwa penambahan satu unit pompa HPU beserta instalasi pendukung mampu meningkatkan tekanan hingga 80 bar dan menurunkan temperatur HPU sebesar 28,2°C. Selain itu, konsumsi oli hidrolik turun menjadi 14 liter per bulan, dan nilai Downtime to Equipment (DTE) hidrolik berkurang hingga 0,07%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, modifikasi sistem HPU terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan stabilitas tekanan, menurunkan temperatur operasi, serta mendukung peningkatan produktivitas mesin CNC Milling yang telah dimodifikasi.

Abstract

Salah satu mesin industri yang perannya sangat penting yaitu boiler. Boiler dalam perusahaan ini merupakan aset yang sangat penting bagi perusahaan, yang menghasilkan luaran berupa uap (steam). Pembakaran adalah suatu reaksi kimia antara bahan bakar dan oksigen yang menghasilkan panas. Konsumsi bahan bakar dan steam boiler yang dihasilkan menjadi hal yang diamati Perusahaan sebagai evaluasi perencanaan anggaran. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu menganalisis Analisis Performa Boiler Standard Kessel Berdasarkan Rasio Antara Bahan Bakar dan Steam di PT. XYZ. Metode Pelaksanaan dengan cara melakukan operasi boiler dan melakukan pencatatan operasi serta penelaahan Riwayat produksi. Hasil pengamatan dan penelaahan Riwayat produksi 1 Tahun mulai Juli 2021 sampai Juni 2022 diperoleh nilai rata-rata konsumsi bahan bakar 1009,43 Kg/Jam, kebutuhan air 5,72 m3/Jam dan luaran steam 7866,97Kg/Jam. Sehingga rasio yang diperoleh 130,98. Kesimpulan Performa Boiler Standard Kessel diperoleh 130,98 kg dari maksimal alokasi badan usaha 150 Kg. Kontribusi positif dari kegiatan ini bermanfaat bagi perusahaan mengendalikan alokasi anggaran bahan bakar dan luaran steam operasi boiler, kelebihan penggunaan bahan bakar berdampak pada kerugian perusahaan, sedangkan ketidaksesuaian luaran performa turbin menjadi indikasi terjadinya kerusakan yang dapat ditindaklanjuti.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri hidroponik di Indonesia berkembang seiring dengan meningkatnya kesadaran terhadap efisiensi lahan dan ketahanan pangan. Namun, cuaca iklim tropis yang berfluktuasi dapat dengan mudah mempengaruhi temperatur air nutrisi, khususnya untuk sistem yang disimpan di dalam green house. Berbagai studi terkait hidroponik, menunjukkan temperatur air nutrisi berpengaruh bagi pertumbuhan tanaman, penyerapan nutrisi, dan kualitas hasil panen, sehingga potensi ini patut dipertimbangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan teknologi pasif yang ekonomis dan efektif saat diterapkan untuk mempertahankan temperatur larutan nutrien hidroponik yang sudah dikondisikan. Metode yang digunakan, yaitu dengan melakukan pengujian perbandingan kepada dua jenis material bejana High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) dan Polipropilen (PP) yang dikombinasikan dengan insulasi jenis Fiberglass, Poliuretan (PU), dan Glasswool. Pengujian dilakukan di dalam lingkungan green house selama lima hari. Didapatkan bejana HDPE memiliki koefisien konveksi air lebih rendah (186,82 W/m²·K) dibandingkan bejana PP (199,01 W/m²·K), sehingga lebih mampu menahan perubahan temperatur air dingin. Adapun, jenis insulasi yang mampu menjaga kenaikan temperatur air terbaik dibandingkan kondisi tanpa insulasi (maksimal 3,25°C) adalah Glasswool. Secara keseluruhan, kombinasi bejana HDPE - Glasswool memberikan performa terbaik dalam mempertahankan temperatur air dingin  dengan daya tolak panas hingga sebesar 43,91 Watt di saat temperatur lingkungan harian tertinggi.

Abstract

PLTA prinsipnya memanfaatkan energi kinetik aliran air yang memiliki ketinggian tertentu. PLTA dapat dikelompokan berdasarkan daya yang dihasilkan. PLTPH menghasilkan daya kurang dari 5 kW sehingga kontruksi dan instalasi turbin lebih sederhana dalam pengoprasiannya. Tahun 2021 telah dibuat prototipe PLTPH portabel dengan tipe cross-flow kemudian dikembangkan tahun 2022. PLTPH masih ditemukan beberapa kelemahan, sehingga daya luaran belum tercapai. Modifikasi dilakukan bertujuan memperbaiki kelemahan untuk memperoleh hasil yang lebih efisien, mudah dipasang. Metode pendekatan rancangan teknis, dengan tahapan meliputi kajian rancangan terdahulu, modifikasi rancangan, manufaktur dan pemasangan rangkaian unit. Komponen yang dimodifikasi meliputi rumah turbin, nosel, dan saluran keluar menggunakan plat dan pipa PVC, penepatan rumah bearing, runner turbin. Pembahasan hasil modifikasi dilakukan untuk mempersiapkan pengujian kinerja turbin yang telah dimodifikasi. Hasil modifikasi diperoleh dimensi panjang 226 mm, lebar 240 mm, dan tinggi 310 mm yang dibuat menggunakan pelat dan pipa PVC dan 3D Printing yang menggunakan bahan plastik PLA dan PETG.

Abstract

The CSR program is a sustainable commitment ethically, legally, and contributes to improving the quality of life for workers/families, local communities, and society as a whole, such as waste processing, infrastructure development, MSME development, and others. Geo Dipa Energi operates in the field of managing and utilizing geothermal energy for electricity generation. Management is in the Ciwidey area covering 3 villages. The program aims to provide skills, support independence, and open up opportunities to apply for jobs with a skills certificate in the automotive sector. Polban with Public Service Agency status can provide services to the community in the form of providing goods/services in carrying out its activities based on the principles of efficiency and productivity. The method of implementing community service is through financing the Geo Dipa Energi CSR program in collaboration with Polban and LSP TOP. The carburetor motorbike service cluster training and certification includes 22 competency items, 3 batches are implemented, the number of participants is 30, details for each batch consist of 8 days of training, 1 day of simulation, satisfaction survey, registration, online assessment, and 1 day of practical assessment. As a result of the assessment, all participants obtained the title of competent.

Abstract

Training and competency certification are part of efforts to enhance the quality of human resources, particularly vocational lecturers, in mastering best practices in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance. This program was conducted over a period of twelve (12) days and covered both theoretical and practical aspects of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, including Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Vibration Analysis, Thermography, and Total Productive Maintenance. The training was organized through a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), and the Indonesian Society of Reliability (ISR). The main objective of this program was to improve lecturers' competencies in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), failure analysis using methods such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and Supply Chain Management (SCM). As a result of the training and certification program, all eleven (11) participants were declared certified and received certification from ISR. This achievement serves as capital to support excellent and globally competitive vocational education.

Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the essential needs for garment entrepreneurs in Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, West Java, to support their production activities. However, frequent power outages in the region often disrupt the production process. The Firman FPG1510 RV1-C generator set (genset) can serve as a solution to overcome these outages, but the unit was found to be inoperable after initial evaluation. An overhaul maintenance was performed after component-level servicing failed to restore stable operation. The results of the overhaul process were evaluated through performance testing, which included fuel consumption testing under a 570Watt electrical load and exhaust emission measurements. The performance test results show that the highest fuel consumption rate (ṁbb) was 0.000089 kg/s at 3177 RPM. At the same speed, the highest brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) was recorded at 0.21456 kg/kWh. The maximum electrical efficiency (ηt) was achieved at 3006 RPM with a value of 17.35%, while the highest brake thermal efficiency (BTE) was 43.45% at 2973 RPM. The emission test after overhaul produced CO levels of 0.92–2.72% and HC levels of 80–153 ppm, both of which comply with the Bandung City emission standards for gasoline engines (CO 4.5% and HC 1200 ppm). A comparison between the post-overhaul performance and the manufacturer’s specifications shows that the indicator shaft power after overhaul reached 1.42 kW at 3006 RPM, compared to 1.17 kW at 3000 RPM in the standard specification. This indicates a 21% increase in shaft power as a result of the overhaul maintenance.
