Abstract

This study aims to determine the bioinsecticide effect of amethyst seed (Datura metel) on the death of armyworms (Spodoptera litura). This type of research is an experiment with the design used is a completely randomized design (CRD) which consists of five treatments and five replications. The treatments were P0 with a concentration of 0%, P1 with a concentration of 10%, P2 with a concentration of 20%, P3 with a concentration of 30%, and P4 with a concentration of 40%. Based on the One Way Anova Test with a significance level of 5%, it shows significant results, F count (52.92)> F table (2.87). Followed by the Duncan test, the results showed that the concentration of 40% was significantly different from the concentrations of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of amethyst seeds (Datura metel) on the death of armyworms (Spodoptera litura), especially at a concentration of 40%. Abstract

Abstract

Salmonella typhi is a gram-negative rod-shaped bacterium, which can cause typhoid fever.  Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispus) is a medicinal plant that contains metabolic substances such as flavonoids that function as antibacterial.  The aim of this research was to determine the antibacterial activity of the starch from the leaves of the Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispus) against the inhibition zone of Salmonella thypi.  This study consisted of an experimental study with a completely randomized design (CRD).  One Way Anova statistical test results obtained sig. ie 0.99 0.05, which means the results were not significant. The conclusion in this study was that the concentration of starch from the leaves of Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispus) had no effect on the inhibition zone of Salmonella thypi.

Abstract

This study aims to explore perceptions related to the learning process and students' needs for environment-based learning media in the Biology Education Study Program at PGRI Silampari University. The method used is survey research with research samples, namely students who take Environmental Science courses and lecturers of the course. The study results show that the teaching-learning process in Environmental Sciences only takes place in the classroom using E-Books and relevant materials packaged in PPT as teaching material sources due to limited time for lectures. Student perceptions and criteria for the development of learning media from lecturers refer to the packaging of learning media products that contain information related to Environmental Science with the right material objectives and concepts, are easy to understand, interactive, easy to use, contain animation and media display must be attractive. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop learning media to make the learning atmosphere more fun, interactive and exciting, one of which is through the development of Learning Blog media.
