Abstract

Penelitian ini dibuat atas dasar rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematika pada siswa MA Swasta Hj Siti Julia Secanggang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh dari model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematika siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Sampel MA Swasta Hj Siti Julia Secanggang penelitian adalah, dimana untuk kelas XII-IPS dibuat sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XII-IPA sebagai kelas control. Hasil penelitian dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Menurut hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa hasil penelitian yang diperoleh untuk rata-rata kemampuan literasi matematika peserta didik kelas eksperimen diperoleh untuk pretest 12,29 dan postest 16,81 dan standar deviasi untuk pretest adalah 2,38 dan postest  1,61, sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh rata-rata untuk pretest 13,77 dan postest 15,40, standar deviasi untuk pretes adalah 3,16 dan untuk postesnya 1,78. Dengan Sig (2tailed) < 0,05, maka terdapat pengaruh antara kelas ekperimen dan kontrol. Maka Sig (tailed) 0,02 < 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 diterima yang artinya adanya Terdapat pengaruh kemampuan literasi matematika berbasis budaya melayu antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model Missouri Mathematics Project.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education dengan model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan hipotesis data pretest dan postest, maka dapat diperoleh nilai rata–rata postest kelas eksperimen sebesar 82,26 rata–rata postest kelas kontrol sebesar 58,33 Sehingga terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berbantuan WordWall. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji t diperoleh t hitung > t tabel yaitu (0,000 > 0,05). Artinya ada perbedaan rata–rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education. Uji normalitas pretest diketahui bahwa nilai sig. 0,324 > 0,05. Sedangkan uji homogenitas pretest terdapat nilai sig. 0,021 > 0,05. Hasil pengujian analisis data berupa pengujian hipotesis data pretest, menunjukkan bahwa kedua kelas sampel memiliki kemampuan awal yang sama tentang kemampuan komunikasi matematis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of generative learning model to improve students' mathematical concept understanding ability using Wolfram Alpha application in class VIII MTs Riyadhus Sholihin Sunggal. The research method uses quasi-experimental with Pretest-Posttest design. After conducting research and data analysis, the results of the pretest t_count value were 4.797 and the results of the posttest value were 4.760 with the obtained 2.074. So the result > which means is rejected and is accepted. In other words, there is an effect of generative learning model on improving students' mathematical concept understanding ability using Wolfram Alpha application. Abstract

This study used the Research and Development (R&D) technique with the ADDIE model, which encompasses the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 29 Medan. The purpose of this project was to create a geogebra-assisted student worksheet (LKPD) based on Batak culture to help students enhance their computational thinking skills in the area of plane figures. Based on the validation results, the LKPD received an overall percentage of 88% from material specialists, media experts, and teachers, which is classified as very valid. The practicality analysis using teacher and student response questionnaires revealed ratings of 94% for teachers and 93% for students, both rated as very practical.The efficacy analysis was based on students' computational thinking test results, classical completeness, and student activity observation sheets. The geogebra-assisted Batak culture-based LKPD has been shown to be a viable medium for learning mathematics. The developed product not only improves students' understanding of plane figure concepts, but it also boosts learning motivation, promotes computational thinking skills, and instills local cultural values. As a result, this LKPD can be used as an innovative teaching material to help implement the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran media pembelajaran berbasis IT dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan menganalisis beberapa penelitian relevan yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 2024 terkait pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam pembelajaran matematika. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa berbagai bentuk media berbasis IT, seperti video animasi, e-modul berbasis Android, perangkat lunak matematika, dan model flipped classroom, memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam mengekspresikan ide matematis, merepresentasikan konsep, serta mengomunikasikan proses penyelesaian masalah baik secara lisan maupun tertulis. Media berbasis IT memfasilitasi visualisasi dan interaktivitas sehingga membantu siswa memahami konsep matematika yang bersifat abstrak dan mengungkapkannya secara sistematis. Selain itu, penggunaan teknologi pembelajaran juga meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika yang mendukung perkembangan komunikasi matematis. Namun, efektivitas media berbasis IT sangat bergantung pada ketersediaan infrastruktur, kompetensi guru, dan perancangan pembelajaran yang tepat. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran berbasis IT dapat diposisikan sebagai sarana strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and describe the mathematical concepts embedded within the Gedogan Karo weaving loom at the Jamin Gintings National Hero Museum. The primary focus is to identify the application of ethnomathematics in the tool's structure and the process of weaving traditional Karo cloth (Uis Karo). The methodology employed in this research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through direct observation of artifacts in the museum, technical documentation, and a literature study regarding the weaving techniques of the Karo people to dissect the underlying mathematical elements. The results and discussion indicate an integration of formal mathematical concepts across four main aspects: (1) Geometry, through the formation of parallel lines in the warp threads and perpendicular relationships in the weft threads; (2) Geometric Transformation, evident in the symmetry, reflection, and translation patterns of the Uis Karo motifs; (3) Binary Logic, in the thread-lifting technique that resembles computer algorithm systems; and (4) Trigonometry, in the thread tension mechanism which depends on the leaning angle of the weaver's body. The conclusion of this study is that the Gedogan Karo loom is a manifestation of local wisdom that intuitively applies complex mathematical principles. The author suggests that these ethnomathematical exploration results be integrated into the formal mathematics education curriculum as contextual learning material. This is crucial for increasing students' interest in mathematics while simultaneously strengthening efforts to preserve Karo cultural heritage in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is an influence of the Discovery learning model assisted by the Photomath application on the Self Efficacy of Mathematics for students in class X MA. The research was conducted at MAS Al-Washliyah Johor Gedung Medan, carried out in class X in the even semester of the 2023/2024 school year using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study is class X which totals 76 students. The sample in this study was taken by Simple Random Sampling. Where class X-A with a total of 38 students is an experimental class and class X-B with a total of 38 students is a control class. Data collection techniques use questionnaires (before and after). Data analysis techniques are normality test, homogeneity test and Independent Sample t-Test. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Discovery learning model assisted by the Photomath application on the Mathematical Self Efficacy of class p<0.05 then is accepted and  is rejected. And based on the calculation results with df = 76 – 2 and a significance level of 0.025, it is found that ±  is 1.995 and  is 6.313. Because  >, which is 6.313 > 1.995, then  is accepted and  is rejected. This can also be seen and proven from the average Self Efficacy questionnaire results of students who used the Discovery learning model assisted by the Photomath application, namely 77,08 (before) and 90,08 (after) while students who used Scientific learning assisted by the Photomath application were 78,39 (before) and 79,63 (after) students who used the Photomath-assisted Discovery learning model had a higher average score of the questionnaire data after treatment than students who used Photomath-assisted Scientific learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model based on Malay culture assisted by Canva on the mathematical numeracy abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 25 Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research method used was true experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The research population consisted of 220 eighth-grade students, with a sample of 61 students comprising class VIII-C as the experimental group and class VIII-D as the control group. The experimental class received treatment using the RADEC model based on Malay culture with Canva media, while the control class used conventional learning. The research instrument was a mathematical numeracy ability test covering three aspects: using numbers and symbols, analyzing graphic and table forms, and interpreting decision results. Descriptive analysis results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was higher than the control class in every numeracy aspect. Prerequisite tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Hypothesis testing using t-test yielded a t-value of 2.001 with significance less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. This study concludes that the RADEC learning model based on Malay culture assisted by Canva has a positive and significant effect on improving students' mathematical numeracy abilities. This model proved effective in enhancing learning outcomes across all numeracy indicators and making learning more contextual, engaging, and meaningful for students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran etnomatematika dalam mendukung deep learning terhadap kreativitas siswa pada pembelajaran matematika di Indonesia. Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh pentingnya pembelajaran kontekstual dan bermakna yang mampu menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan pengalaman budaya siswa. Etnomatematika memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk memahami matematika melalui nilai budaya lokal, tradisi, serta praktik kehidupan sehari-hari, sedangkan deep learning menekankan pemahaman yang reflektif, kritis, dan bermakna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dengan teknik matriks sintesis untuk menganalisis berbagai sumber ilmiah terkait etnomatematika, deep learning, dan kreativitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi etnomatematika dalam pembelajaran berorientasi deep learning mampu merangsang imajinasi siswa, mendorong pemecahan masalah secara fleksibel, dan menumbuhkan ide-ide matematis yang orisinal. Keberhasilan penerapan pendekatan ini dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan guru dalam merancang aktivitas pembelajaran berbasis budaya, keterlibatan aktif siswa, dan ketersediaan sumber belajar yang kontekstual

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are an essential competency of the 21st century that demands innovation in digital teaching materials. Based on the needs analysis in the field, the use of interactive, self-contained web-based learning media still requires variations and has not explicitly integrated local cultural elements in the Data Centrality Measurement material. This study aims to produce a digital learning media prototype in the form of a flipbook e-module based on Deli Malay ethnomathematics assisted by the Heyzine platform integrated with the Discovery Learning flow, and to test the theoretical feasibility of the product. This type of research is a research and development (R&D) using the 4D model. In accordance with the limitations of the initial feasibility objectives, the development procedure is limited to the Develop stage in the theoretical validity testing phase by experts. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation studies, structured interviews with teachers, and distribution of Likert scale assessment questionnaire instruments to experts. The assessment data are then analyzed quantitatively using the Aiken's V agreement index formula. The results of the development stage research indicate that the accumulated average content validity index of all learning device instruments is 0.92 with the criteria of Very Valid. In detail, the validity values were obtained from the Teaching Module instrument (0.88), LKPD (0.90), material aspects (0.91), flipbook media (0.94), cultural context (0.92), and the mathematical literacy ability test instrument which achieved the highest coefficient of 0.96. The conclusion of the study confirms that this ethnomathematics-based flipbook e-module product is declared valid, theoretically feasible, and recommended as a variation of independent teaching materials to support the achievement of 21st-century competency mathematics learning.
