Abstract

In Indonesia, according to the 2018 Basic Health Research report, the majority of the population above the age of 5, which is around 95.5%, still consumes vegetables and fruits below the recommend levels. When a person's knowledge and behavior are not optimal, then they will have difficulty maintaining the balance of food intake they consume. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of knowledge, fruit vegetable consumption behavior and nutritional status in class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Porong. This was a descriptive study. The Sampling method used was simple random sampling  with a total samples size of  40 people. The results showed that the knowledge level of respondents in the poor category was 18 adolescents and in the good category was 11 adolescents. Most adolescents (34) exhibited poor vegetable consumption behavior, while the majority (21) demonstrated good fruit consumption behavior. The nutritional status of most respondents had good nutritional status as many as 25 adolescents. In Conclusion, adolescents in SMA Negeri 1 Porong have knowledge about vegetables and fruits in the poor category, poor vegetable consumption behavior, good fruit consumption behavior and good nutritional status.

Abstract

Children under two years of age, are in a very important developmental period often referred to as the Golden Age. Child classified as Underweight based on anthropometry, measurements if their body weight for Age (BB/U) is between -3 SD <-2 SD. According to data from the Bojonegoro District Health Service. This study aims to describe complementary feeding practice to underweight children aged 6-24 months with in the working area of the kanor community health center. Research used an interview method with a questionnare for data collectin, A total of 41 children were selected through random sampling. The result showed that the age at first complementary feeding was correct in 68.4% of cases however, frequency 75.6%, amount 63.4%, texture 75.6%, variation 53, 6%, responsiveness 58.5% and hygiene 58.5%. While most children had a story of exclusive breastfeeding, aspect such as children had a history of exclusive breasfeeding aspect such as frequency, quantity, texture, variety, and responsivenness of complementary feeding were incorrect even though cleanliness was satisfactory. Educational interventions are needed to improve knowledge and practices related to proper complementary feeding for children.

Abstract

Children aged 10–12 years need significant energy due to their rapid growth and active lifestyles. Their nutritional status is influenced by nutritional knowledge and breakfast habits. To examine the relationship between nutritional knowledge, breakfast habits, and nutritional status of students aged 10–12 years at MI Dakwatul Khoiriyah Kediri. A cross-sectional study with 40 students using questionnaires for nutritional knowledge, SQ-FFQ interviews to evaluate breakfast habits, and BMI for age index to determine nutritional status. Spearman correlation tests were used for analysis. The study found that 62.5% had low nutritional knowledge, 60% had infrequent breakfast habits, and 65% were malnourished. There is a significant relationship between the level of nutritional knowledge and nutritional status (p=0.000, r=0.688) and between the habit of rarely eating breakfast and poor nutritional status (p=0.000, r=0.812). There is a significant relationship between nutritional knowledge, breakfast habits, and nutritional status of students aged 10–12 years at MI Dakwatul Khoiriyah Kediri. Students should have daily breakfast to meet nutritional needs and improve nutritional status.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease with an increasing incidence in Indonesia and is closely related to blood sugar control. This study was conducted aimed to analyze the relationship between diet and nutritional status with blood sugar levels in outpatients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Ibnu Sina Gresik Hospital. A cross-sectional study design was employed along with observational analysis. The sample included 34 patients selected using the Accidental Sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, measurements of height and weight, and laboratory results. The study was conducted from December 2023 to April 2024, and the data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. The results showed that patients with poor diet and overweight tend to have abnormal blood sugar levels, with p=0.014 for diet and p=0.023 for weight gain, both significant (p<0.05). In conclusion, there is a relationship between diet and nutritional status and blood glucose levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It is recommended, patients should implement a diet according to the 3J principle, do sufficient physical activity, regularly monitor blood sugar levels, and make dietary changes such as reducing simple carbohydrates and sugar to manage blood sugar levels.
