Abstract

Purpose: This research was conducted at the National Training and Instructor Professional Certification Institute (LSP Pelatinas) using the path analysis method. Research methodology: The author collected data using a questionnaire with a population of 80 respondents from LSP Pelatinas employees. Respondent samples were taken from the entire population with a total sample of 80 employees. Previously, instrument testing was carried out and, after that, analysis requirements were tested using the normality test, linearity test and homogeneity test. The latter performs hypothetical testing with path analysis. Results: This study investigated the influence of competence, training, and motivation on employee performance at LSP Pelatinas (Indonesian National Coaching and Instructor Professional Certification Institute) using a survey method with path analysis on 80 employees. The research findings confirmed that competence, training, and motivation all have significant positive effects on employee performance, with competence emerging as the most influential factor for enhancing organizational performance and employee motivation. Conclusions: The study demonstrates that competence, training, and motivation all have significant positive effects on employee performance at LSP Pelatinas, with competence being the strongest predictor (contributing 24.2%), followed by motivation (76.4%), while these three variables collectively explain 95.7% of the variance in employee performance. Limitations: The research was constrained by limited references on similar studies within LSP Pelatinas context, restricted research scope, reliance solely on Google Forms for data collection without direct interviews, and insufficient time for comprehensive data collection and literature review. Contribution: This study provides empirical evidence for human resource management practitioners and organizational leaders in Indonesian professional certification institutions, contributing to the field of organizational behavior and performance management by demonstrating the significant relationships between competence, training, and motivation on employee performance.

Abstract

This community development program aims to enhance the motivation and self-confidence of inmates at Cipinang Prison in order to break the cycle of poverty and prevent them from repeating past mistakes. The program involved 30 participants, most of whom were recidivists, facing the main challenge of negative social stigma that perceives former inmates as incapable of change. The solution introduced through the training was the utilization of household waste to produce eco enzyme products. These products have proven to be economically valuable and beneficial for health, thereby improving the living standards of inmates while simultaneously creating business opportunities. The simple and low-cost production process enabled participants to acquire new skills, while training on branding and packaging provided added value and increased product competitiveness in the market. Beyond empowering inmates, this program also contributes to environmental sustainability and promotes a healthy lifestyle at an affordable cost. The transformation of waste into health-supporting products demonstrates the wise use of natural resources and fosters entrepreneurial spirit among participants. Thus, this activity serves as an initial step in empowerment, expected to improve the quality of life and open better future opportunities for inmates.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to develop hypotheses for future research by reviewing the relationships between competence, motivation, self-efficacy, remuneration, and lecturer performance. ResearchMethodology: A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through a literature review. Secondary data were collected from academic databases including Scopus, Web of Science, Taylor & Francis, Springer, Elsevier, SINTA, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. One empirical study was selected for each variable category to support the review. Empirical findings from the literature were analyzed and synthesized to identify patterns and construct theoretical relationships. Results: The study reveals ten significant relationships: (1) Competence, motivation, and self-efficacy each positively influence remuneration; (2) All three variables also directly affect lecturer performance; (3) Remuneration has a positive effect on lecturer performance; and (4) Remuneration mediates the effects of competence, motivation, and self-efficacy on lecturer performance. Statistical results from reviewed studies show that competence (? = 0.58), motivation (? = 0.49), and self-efficacy (? = 0.45) have strong direct effects on lecturer performance, with remuneration acting as a significant mediator (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Competence, motivation, and self-efficacy are critical factors influencing both remuneration and lecturer performance. Remuneration plays a mediating role, amplifying these effects. The findings provide a theoretical basis for future empirical testing. Limitations: This review focuses exclusively on individual-level variables, excluding organizational and policy-level influences. The generalization of the findings may be limited by the selection of reviewed studies. Contribution: The study contributes to the development of a conceptual framework on lecturer performance and highlights remuneration as a key mediating variable. It offers new insights into performance-related factors in the Indonesian higher education context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Liquidity, Leverage, and Profitability on Financial Distress in Transportation Sub-Sector Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2017 - 2019. The research methodology used is a quantitative method with combined data from time series panels and cross-sectional secondary data, using secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website and the company's website. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with data from 2017 - 2019. The data analysis technique used is binary logistic regression by conducting descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests (multicollinearity), hypothesis tests using partial significant test, likelihood ratio, and R2 test (coefficient of compound determination). The results of this study indicate that partially the liquidity variable has a positive effect and is not significant on financial distress, the leverage variable has a positive effect and significant on financial distress, and profitability has a negative effect and is significant on financial distress. Meanwhile, simultaneously the independent variables liquidity, leverage, and profitability together have a significant relationship to the dependent variable, namely financial distress. The coefficient of determination of this study shows a figure of 50,31%. This shows that the variation of the independent variables of liquidity, Leverage, and Profitability can explain the variations in the ups and downs of the Financial Distress variable by 50,31% while the remaining 49,69% is influenced by other independent variables
