Abstract

East Java Province is recognized as one of Indonesia’s main producers of the white sugar (plantation white sugar/gula kristal putih). However, The closure of these sugar mills raises an important question about the mills efficiency. The urgency of this study lies in the need to develop a comprehensive literature review that synthesizes existing findings on the production efficiency of East Java's sugar mills. The research was conducted in April 2025, using the literature review  method. The results shows that the efficiency of sugar mills in East Java Province remains below the optimal threshold, both technically and economically. This inefficiency is caused by several factors, including inconsistent sugarcane supply, outdated factory machinery, and socio-economic challenges such as price policy and the low welfare of farmers. Inefficiency has become one of the key reasons behind the closure of several sugar mills in East Java, particularly those owned by PTPN X and PTPN XI.

Abstract

The transformation to digital marketing has significantly changed the competitive landscape of Indonesia's instant noodle industry. New brands have gained traction through effective content marketing (CM), challenging Mie Sedaap to adapt in order to retain its customers. This study aims to examine how CM influences customer retention (CR), with customer engagement (CE) as a mediating variable. Utilizing WarpPLS 8.0 and the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method, primary data was gathered using purposive sampling. A total of 130 respondents completed the questionnaire. Four hypotheses were tested to explore both direct and mediating effects. All hypotheses were supported, confirming significant relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that CM positively impacts CR, both directly and indirectly through CE. Customers who engage by liking, commenting, or sharing branded content are more emotionally connected to the brand, enhancing loyalty, repeat purchases, and word-of-mouth promotion. These results underscore the strategic importance of engaging and emotionally resonant content in fostering long-term customer relationships. For companies in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, particularly instant noodles, crafting interactive, relevant, and emotionally appealing content is critical. Investing in such strategies can strengthen customer loyalty and provide a competitive edge in the increasingly digital marketplace.

Abstract

Waste management in Ciburial Village, Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency still faces various challenges. Waste produced by households is usually processed individually, such as burning or landfilling it with soil. However, this method is still not effective because urban communities have limited space. Other waste management is on a paid basis, where the rubbish will be picked up by the rubbishman at each house and will end up in the final disposal site. The mass use of non-degradable and uncontrolled items, as well as deficiencies in waste processing and management, have negative implications for health and the environment. Efficient and environmentally friendly waste management is an urgent problem, and we are making every effort to bring this problem to light. Efficient and environmentally friendly waste management is an urgent need, and we are making every effort to bring attention to this problem. We want to spread our efforts and bring attention to the need for sustainable waste management by visiting every community in RT 1, RT 2, and RT 3. This qualitative descriptive research aims to detect, characterize, and explain PSAT in Ciburial Village. , Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency. Environmentally conscious volunteers and authorities from the Ciburial Community Group, Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency and other local organizations took part in this research. Apart from living in Ciburial Village, they are also active in the integrated waste management program. The findings from this research highlight the potential of integrated waste management initiatives to educate the general public about the importance of responsible waste disposal. More and more people are realizing that sustainable waste management and sorting waste for reprocessing based on type is very important. Organic waste will later be collected and reprocessed into compost, while dry waste will end up in final disposal sites.

Abstract

Rice has become a central focus of the Indonesian government in ensuring both availability and price stability. To address these concerns, the government, through Perum Bulog, introduced the SPHP (Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices) rice policy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of SPHP rice policy in influencing the price of premium rice in East Java Province. This study contributes to the limited empirical evidence on food policy evaluation in Indonesia and offers insights for designing more differentiated price stabilization strategies. The analysis in this study was conducted using a fixed effect model–dynamic unbalanced panel data regression with a double-log natural functional form. The dataset consists of monthly panel data covering 34 cities/regencies in East Java Province over the period June 2024–May 2025. The estimation results indicate that only the lagged premium rice price has a significant effect on the premium rice price. However, the price of SPHP rice, both current and lagged, does not have a significant effect on the price of premium rice.

Abstract

Ornamental plants are greenery with considerable potential for development in Indonesia. The plethora of ornamental plant sellers leads consumers to carefully choose attributes that stand out in meeting their desired attitudes and preferences. This research aims to analyze the decision-making process for purchasing ornamental plants, consumer attitudes toward ornamental plant attributes, and the attribute combinations that constitute consumer preferences for ornamental plants. The data collection method involves purposive sampling with 100 respondents. The analysis methods encompass descriptive analysis, Multi-Attribute Fishbein analysis, and Conjoint analysis. The research findings reveal the decision-making process for purchasing ornamental plants, including recognizing the need to beautify a room/home, seeking information from family, evaluating alternative attributes such as price, making planned purchasing decisions, and buying different types of ornamental plants. Post-purchase behavior includes satisfied consumers, a willingness to make repeat purchases, and spreading information about ornamental plants. The overall consumer attitude toward ornamental plants (Ao total) is positive. Consumer preferences for ornamental plants, based on utility values and attribute levels, prioritize plant price (Rp. 100,000 – Rp. 300,000), plant size (60 – 100 cm), seller service (empathy), plant pot (ceramic/porcelain), and plant type (ornamental leafy plants). Keywords: Attitude, Preference, Consumer, Ornamental plants
