Abstract

Struggle is one of the values that can be included in literary works. This paper aims to analyze the struggle that is presented in the series novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. This is descriptive qualitative research. The data was taken from monologue and dialogue in the novel itself. To collect the data, the researcher used document analysis by Bowen. The researcher used theory from Milles and Huberman for analyzing the data. The results of struggle as extrinsic element there are three kinds of struggle: 1) against the time, this struggle emphasized how the character’s patience with the process and how to adapt to new circumstances; 2) against the outside factor, this struggle emphasized teamwork, faith, and not despair; 3) self-thought, this struggle emphasized how dealing with own mind can ruin our-self.

Abstract

English, as an international language, played a crucial role in the world of education and global communication. In Indonesia, English is taught as a foreign language and is an integral part of the education curriculum. Writing in English is one of the essential components for developing students’ language skills, especially for students at the junior high school level. The purpose of this research was identified the writing errors made by students in descriptive texts. The study was conducted at SMPN 4 Satu Atap Arjosari Pacitan. This research used a quantitative research design. The data sources for this study were nine students from grade VII, selected through purposive sampling. The students’ descriptive text in writing test was used the primary data research. The research findings indicated that there were five aspects of errors in writing. The most dominant was language use, accounting 36%, contents 25%, vocabulary 18%, organizations 17%, mechanics 4%.

Abstract

Character development in education cannot be separated from the role of the family as the first and main environment in the process of internalizing good values. In the tradition of Islamic education, especially related to the Muslim family, the Ḥadīth becomes one of the main sources of shaping the moral and spiritual values of students. This study examines in depth the role of Ḥadīth in the formation of children’s character through the tradition of Muslim family education. Two questions become the starting point of the study: first, how is Ḥadīth conceptualized in the form of a character education framework; second, how is the implementation of Ḥadīth in overcoming the moral-spiritual crisis of each learner? Through a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach based on library research, data is obtained from observation and inventory of various literatures that speak about this matter. The results showed that the Ḥadīth is not only a normative foundation, but also used as a practical guide in shaping character such as honesty, responsibility, courtesy, and empathy. In fact, the prophet also consciously modeled the importance of good character which was reflected in the relationships that took place with the companions. In addition, the integration of Ḥadīth values in daily family routines has proven effective in building children’s moral awareness from an early age. In the end, this study confirms the importance of revitalizing the role of Ḥadīth in family-based character education to strengthen the moral foundation of the young Muslim generation in the modern era.

Abstract

A lack of understanding about the importance of maintaining health during the Hajj pilgrimage and low levels of compliance among pilgrims with health officials' recommendations are the main factors affecting the health of pilgrims in the field. In supporting the government's program aimed at ensuring pilgrims' readiness to participate in the series of Hajj activities, a common problem is the high incidence of illness among pilgrims during the pilgrimage. This situation is largely due to the lack of attention and supervision from Hajj organizers regarding health services, leading some pilgrims to neglect efforts to maintain their physical resilience. This service method employs a mentoring approach, with the aim of accompanying and assisting in the health examination process for Hajj pilgrims. The results of this service at KBIHU Nurul Haramain include the development of a health check schedule to ensure the smooth implementation of health checks. Additionally, several stages in the health examination process for pilgrims are outlined. The first stage is the medical examination (Medical Check-Up), which includes verifying the pilgrims' identities and reviewing their current health history, past medical history, and family medical history. After completing the first stage, the second stage involves a physical examination, including vital signs, body posture, inspection, and palpation of the skin, head, eyes, ears, and neck. This is followed by a chest examination, including the lungs and heart, muscle strength and reflex tests, and rectal and urogenital examinations. The final examination is a mental health assessment of the pilgrims.

Abstract

Adjusting the time of taking medication during fasting is important because it is closely related to drug levels in the blood and its stability in the effective therapeutic range. The level of knowledge on drug use is still very low, both at the hospital, health center and pharmacy levels. Increasing knowledge related to diabetes treatment and drug use in general is very important because of changes in the way people take medicine. The health promotion method is carried out by giving lectures with the help of leaflets. Activities carried out in different health facilities, namely pharmacies, health centers and hospitals. Respondents who took part in this activity were 97 people with an average pretest score of 53.75 and a posttest score of 90. The activity went well and succeeded in increasing the respondents' knowledge of using drugs during fasting.

Abstract

This study analyzes the judicial reasoning behind Putusan Pengadilan Negeri Sidoarjo No. 199/Pid.Sus/2023/PN Sda, a landmark decision involving corporate criminal liability for environmental violations in Indonesia. The case centers on PT Surya Prima Semesta’s illegal disposal of hazardous waste (fly ash and bottom ash) without an environmental permit, resulting in the prosecution of its corporate director. Employing a normative juridical method, the research examines the court’s application of doctrines such as strict liability and identification theory within the framework of Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management. The findings show that the court adopted a formalistic, text-based legal reasoning model, treating permit violations as inherently punishable acts regardless of actual environmental harm. While the decision reinforces regulatory compliance and affirms corporate culpability, it lacks engagement with broader organizational responsibility and foundational environmental law principles like the precautionary principle and sustainability. This study argues for a more integrated doctrinal approach one that balances rule-based logic with value-oriented reasoning to enhance legal consistency, advance environmental justice, and align Indonesia’s corporate accountability framework with international standards.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi secara mendalam peran Konselor Sekolah (Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling - BK) dalam penanganan kasus bullying dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap iklim sosial di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Banyuwangi. Bullying merupakan masalah serius yang mengganggu perkembangan psikososial siswa dan kualitas lingkungan belajar. Dengan desain studi kasus tunggal intensif pada satu SMP yang memiliki prevalensi kasus bullying signifikan, penelitian ini berfokus pada pengalaman dan intervensi spesifik Konselor Sekolah. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara mendalam dengan Konselor, korban, pelaku, dan guru mata pelajaran, serta observasi non-partisipan dan analisis dokumen (catatan kasus BK, buku tata tertib). Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis tematik holistik untuk menggambarkan proses penanganan kasus secara komprehensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran Konselor melampaui batas tradisional, mencakup advokasi korban, restorasi pelaku, dan mediasi iklim sosial. Intervensi yang efektif adalah Konseling Kelompok Restoratif dan Program Edukasi Anti-Bullying berbasis kearifan lokal. Dampak signifikan terlihat pada peningkatan pelaporan kasus, penurunan insiden bullying fisik, dan pergeseran persepsi siswa terhadap peran BK sebagai pelindung, yang secara kolektif memperbaiki iklim sosial sekolah menjadi lebih inklusif dan aman. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peran proaktif Konselor sangat krusial dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang positif.

Abstract

Classroom management is all the teacher's activities in the classroom to create and maintain optimal classroom conditions for the teaching and learning process to occur to increase student interest in learning. However, the homeroom teacher at MTs Mamba'ul Barokah NW when the teaching and learning process in the class did not carry out class management properly which caused a lack of interest in student learning. The purpose of the research in this thesis is to find out the classroom management strategy in increasing student interest in learning, the implementation of class management in increasing student learning interest, and the constraints and efforts of class management in increasing student learning interest. The type of research used in this study was qualitative research in descriptive form, the subjects in this study were homeroom teachers and class VII students. Data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) The classroom management strategy in increasing student interest in learning is by carefully preparing all learning tools in the form of lesson plans using various learning methods and bringing students into the real world so that learning becomes fun and not boring. 2) The implementation of classroom management in increasing student interest in learning is that the teacher uses a variety of teaching methods and continues to develop learning models that are appropriate and ready to help students so that student learning interest increases and maximum learning results are achieved. 3) Obstacles and classroom management efforts in increasing student interest in learning are during the last hour of learning and when the subject matter is considered difficult by students, as well as constraints in terms of limited media provision, this causes student learning interest to decrease.

The right to acquire information is right basic people and openness to information to the public is one of the characteristics a democratic country must uphold tall popular sovereignty to realize good state administration. Research purposes This is to know the Role of Officials Manager Village Information and Documentation in Services and Provisions Public Information in Sepit and Untuk Villages know the obstacles faced by PPID in service and provision information public in Sepit Village. Type of research used in study This is descriptive qualitative that is illustrative research something circumstances objects or incidents certain based on apparent facts or as it should be accompanied by effort taking conclusion general based on factor historical. Data collection techniques from the study This includes observation, interviews, and documentation. Informant research on the thesis This is Chairman of PPID in Sepit Village, Parties the Sepit Village PPID manager, and the Sepit Village community. Based on the results of research in the field Role of Officials Manager Village Information and Documentation (PPID) in digital-based communities in Sepit Village is quite optimal and sufficient by what is stated in number 14 of 2008 concerning openness information public and regulations Government Republic of Indonesia Number 61 of 2010 Concerning Openness Public Information. Then the barrier is lots of society that doesn't know related official manager information and documentation (PPID). Second, lack of understanding public public-related channel application information, and Keriga lacks a means of machine photocopy.

Abstract

Globalization has resulted in the easy penetration of very sophisticated technology from developed countries to developing countries such as Indonesia (global village). In this era, the role of technology is vital, if people in a country are unable to optimize the role of technology, it can be said that information and communication technology will be left behind by other countries. This study aims to explore and describe the benefits of information and communication technology (ICT) in civics learning in grade 5 of Elementary School. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, involving classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documentation using ICT. The results of the study indicate that the integration of ICT in civics learning in grade 5 of Elementary School provides various significant benefits. First, ICT increases student involvement in the teaching and learning process. Tools such as multimedia presentations, educational videos, and interactive applications make students more interested and enthusiastic about learning. Second, the use of ICT helps students understand civic concepts better through visualizations and simulations that facilitate understanding of abstract material. Third, teachers feel helped by the existence of information and communication technology in delivering lesson materials more effectively and efficiently, as well as facilitating the evaluation process through online quizzes and tests that can be assessed directly.
