Abstract

This research investigates the performance of water as a working fluid in the shell side of shell-and-tube heat exchangers (STHEs), explicitly analyzing how variations in flow rate influence the heat transfer coefficient, pressure drop, and friction factor characteristics. Experiments were conducted using an STHE with a SUS 201 stainless steel shell and a pure copper tube featuring an inner diameter of 10 mm and an outer diameter of 13 mm. The flow rates of the cold fluid varied at 9, 10, and 12 liters per minute (LPM), while the hot fluid flow was maintained at a constant rate of 6.67 LPM. A 600 W heater, regulated by a PID system, was utilized to evaluate thermal performance, with water serving as the hot fluid on the shell side and the cold fluid on the tube side. Results demonstrate a significant increase in both the heat transfer coefficient and the heat transfer rate with higher flow rates of the cold fluid, with the maximum heat transfer coefficient recorded at 12 LPM and the minimum at 9 LPM. The STHE exhibited high efficiency, with heat transfer rate differences between the shell and tube sides remaining below 5%. Although pressure fluctuations were observed with increasing flow rates, they did not substantially affect the friction factor, indicating a predominantly turbulent flow regime. These findings provide critical insights for optimizing heat transfer performance in STHEs, contributing to advancements in thermal management technologies and enhancing the design of efficient heat exchangers.

Abstract

This article investigates the challenges and solutions within the deep drawing process, focusing on issues like cracks and deviations from standard thickness dimensions. Utilizing both experimental methods with a 40-ton power press machine and numerical simulations via ABAQUS software, the study uses SPCC-SD steel to produce a Dop-pipe 1-inch diameter pipe cap. Key findings reveal significant correlations in elements E-90 and E-91, with minimal disparities of around 4.5% between experimental and numerical approaches, showcasing the accuracy of numerical predictions. Notably, the numerical simulations identify potential issues such as increased thickness due to higher axial forces, providing valuable insights for process optimization and defect reduction. By advancing the deep drawing process and extending its applicability to broader material-forming applications, this research contributes significantly to enhancing production efficiency and improving manufacturing practices, emphasizing the importance of simulation-driven approaches in achieving precision and quality enhancement in complex manufacturing processes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Presepsi Pemustaka Tentang Kualitas Pelayanan Referensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone. Adapun rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kualitas pelayanan refrerensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas pelayanan referensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah metode kuantitatif, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa yang ada di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone dan menggunakan pelayanan refrensi dengan teknik accidental sampling dan selama penelitian berlangsung selama 1 bulan ada 67 responden. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan langsung kepada pemustaka atau responden. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa kualitas pelayanan referensi di di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone bahwa kualitas pelayanan referensi di Perpustakaan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum Pengayoman Watampone sudah berkulitas dimana nilai kualitas pelayanan referensi (X) sebesar 4824 atau 80%termasuk dalam kategori berkualitas dengan rentang skor (4020-5025).

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing library management using Senayan Library Management (SLIMS) at the University of East Indonesia Library, with a focus on the application of information technology to improve service efficiency and library information access. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach, exploring experiences and phenomena related to service mechanisms and information processing in the library. Data was collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with library heads, librarians and users. Data analysis involves collecting, reducing, assessing, and critically interpreting data to reach conclusions. The implementation of SLIMS in libraries has had a positive impact, increasing operational efficiency with easy access via online OPAC, bibliographic management and fast E-Library membership. Despite progress, integration of SLIMS with other technologies such as online access to e-journal and e-book collections is still in the preparation stage. Constraining factors involve data availability, metadata standards, security and access, changes in digital resources, identity management, resource availability, and alignment with user needs which are still being adapted.

Abstract

Concrete constitutes a blend of various constituents, including Portland cement, coarse aggregate (crushed stone),fine aggregate (sand), and water. As the availability of natural resources diminishes, the escalating demand forinfrastructure construction could lead to environmental repercussions if these resources are incessantly exploited.The region of South Sumatra, particularly in the Lubuklinggau vicinity, houses numerous red brick factories.Byproducts of these factories comprise Clinker/Scorched Brick Waste, characterized by its lightweight,impermeable, durable, and non-biodegradable nature. This study aims to effectively employ this waste to produceconcrete that is not only of superior quality but also economically viable. The research findings reveal that usingclinker brick waste to replace fine and coarse aggregates in a 28-day concrete mix: at 25% BBK, the concretepossesses an average compressive strength of 26.556 MPa; at 50% BBK, it reaches 34.882 MPa; at 75% BBK, itregisters 26.104 MPa; and at 100% BBK, it amounts to 17.55 MPa. Evidently, a remarkable surge in compressivestrength occurs at the 50% BBK variation, with a substantial 36.291% increase (34.882 MPa) compared to theaverage compressive strength of conventional concrete (25.594 MPa).

Abstract

This article delves into the intricacies of optimizing the TIG welding process using stainless steel 304 (SUS 304) material, with particular emphasis on small-scale industries that are heavily reliant on TIG welding, especially in the production of household equipment and fences. The objective of this research is to enhance the tensile shear load (T's load) through the Taguchi Design of Experiment (DoE), which takes into account welding current, gas flow rate, and electrode diameter as primary parameters. This study evaluates T's load and hardness across the welding zone, which includes the heat-affected zone (HAZ) and base metal. The study was conducted using a Stahlweld inverter welding machine operating at 220 V/50 Hz, and a maximum T's load of 1545.1 kgf was achieved in the fourth iteration. The optimization of T's load was carried out using SN ratio analysis and involved setting the welding current to level II, gas flow rate to level I, and electrode diameter to level II following the Taguchi DoE design. The hardness peaks in the weld area decreased in the HAZ and reached their lowest point in the base metal. These findings provide valuable insights into optimizing TIG welding parameters for thin stainless steel 304 materials, which supports Sustainable Development Goal 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure).

Abstract

Organisasi atau kelembagaan memiliki komponen utama didalamnya, salah satu komponen penting tersebut adalah sumber daya manusia. SDM mengatur semua hubungan antar tenaga kerja dalam sebuah Lembaga dengan tujuan membangun performa kerja dan lingkungan yang baik. Realita SDM yang kurang mumpuni di Indonesia, khususnya di banyak Lembaga zaman sekarang adalah sesuatu hal yang wajib dibenahi. Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan bahwa kurang maksimalnya proses-proses dalam penerimaan karyawan baru. Hal ini yang menyebabkan turunnya performa sumber daya manusia di suatu Lembaga, padahal jika dilaksanakan dengan baik maka hasilnya akan maksimal dan bisa menghasilkan karyawan yang berkinerja dan bertalenta. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah memberikan proses-proses yang terstruktur dari penerimaan karyawan baru di suatu Lembaga dengan mengikuti standarisasi yang ada. Yang nantinya bisa diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari serta dalam dunia kerja untuk seluruh fasilitator maupun calon karyawan baru, agar memiliki gambaran yang jelas dalam proses mencari sumber daya manusia yang mumpuni dan memenuhi standarisasi Lembaga. Penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi Pustaka (library research) dengan referensi beberapa buku dan artikel jurnal.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisis sistem perekrutan tenaga pendidik di MI PTQ Darul Hikmah Menganti, serta meningkatkan mutu pendidikan melalui proses perekrutan tenaga pendidik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menjabarkan bahwa sistem perekrutan tenaga pendidik di MI PTQ Darul Hikmah Mengantiterdiri dari beberapa tahapan, meliputi aspek administratif, wawancara, evaluasi membaca dan menulis Al-Qur'an, serta kemampuan mengajar secara rinci. Madrasah berusaha mencari tenaga pendidik yang sesuai dengan profil dan memiliki komitmen kuat terhadap proses pengajaran untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di MI PTQ Darul Hikmah Menganti. Upaya sekolah dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan melibatkan program pengembangan untuk pendidik dan kegiatan evaluasi mingguan. Hasil perekrutan pendidik berdampak pada tingkat loyalitas dan komitmen dalam mengajar. Sebelum resmi bekerja di MI PTQ Darul Hikmah Menganti, calon tenaga pendidik diwajibkan untuk membuat perjanjian kontrak kerja sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.

Abstract

The community service activity at the political science study program, Walailak University Thailand has the aim of introducing Javanese language and culture to improve Indonesian insight. The target of this activity is political science students, walailak university who need initial and advanced guidance to improve Indonesian insights. This activity is very helpful for students in providing initial provision before taking a lecture program in Indonesia. This service activity provides theoretical knowledge and cultural practices in the classroom which include the introduction of Javanese language and traditional games. The activity method is carried out with discussions, presentations and cultural practices. The results of the activity showed the enthusiasm of students in learning Javanese language, Javanese culture and Indonesian in general a total of 61% of students stated that they could know Javanese vocabulary, 22% of students knew Javanese culture. 9% of students got preliminary knowledge if they visit Indonesia, while 8% of students got important information related to Javanese culture.

Abstract

This study aims to introduce and promote Indonesian arts and culture at the Graduate School of Humanities, Indonesian Foreign Studies, Osaka University, Japan. The high interest in learning the Indonesian language at Osaka University requires strong support in the aspects of arts, culture, and even traditional sports to enrich knowledge of Indonesian local wisdom. Strengthening cultural literacy through traditional arts and sports emphasizes the values of local wisdom, particularly solidarity, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), honesty, as well as mental and physical health for Osaka University students through Indonesian cultural learning. This activity employs the Empowerment-Based Research (EBR) method, starting from identifying problems, designing activities, evaluation, and dissemination. As a result, students and lecturers from the Graduate School of Humanities, Indonesian Foreign Studies at Osaka University actively participated in the designed training sessions. These trainings focused on introducing dining etiquette, traditional herbal drinks (jamu), traditional music with angklung, and traditional sports such as Patil Lele and Gobag Sodor. Through this training, the aim is not only to teach the materials but also to highlight cultural values and local wisdom as part of cultural diplomacy.
