Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the demographic determinants and parental health behaviors associated with the completeness of immunization in children under five. Methodology: This study used a cross-sectional design, where data were collected at one point in time to analyze the relationship between independent variables and the completeness of booster immunization in children aged 24-60 months. Results: This study found that child gender had a significant effect on immunization completeness, with girls being more likely to receive complete booster immunization than boys. Meanwhile, birth order, maternal age at delivery, and delivery method did not show a significant association with immunization completeness, in contrast to the results of previous studies which mentioned that children with higher birth order tend to have lower immunization coverage. Applications/Originality/Value: This study has practical applications as input for policy makers and immunization program implementers to design more evidence-based and contextualized strategies, taking into account parental health behaviors as well as family demographic characteristics. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on the completeness of booster immunization in children aged 24-60 months, a group that has rarely been studied in Indonesia, as most previous studies have focused on basic immunization and children under 24 months. The importance of this study is also reflected in its emphasis on parental behavioral variables, such as exclusive breastfeeding and paternal smoking habits, which are less explored but have great potential to influence child immunization coverage.

Abstract

Purpose: Identify the relation between FBG and triglyceride with GFR in T2DM patients. Methodology: This observational quantitative research used a cross-sectional design. Data were obtained from the medical records of 50 Prolanis T2DM patients in 2023 at the Puskesmas Karangnongko, Klaten Regency, using consecutive sampling technique. The bivariate analysis used was the Spearman test. Results: Spearman test results show that there is no significant relation between FBG with GFR in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (p-value=0.695; r-value=0.057). Apart from that, there is also no relation between triglycerides with GFR in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (p-value=0.654; r-value=-0.065). Applications/Originality/Value: This research provides information regarding considerations for FBG and triglycerides as important components for detecting a decrease in GFR which can be an indicator of diabetic nephropathy.

Abstract

Purpose: This research was conducted to determine and analyse the relationship between drinking coffee, learning styles, and approaches with block completion in medical students. Methodology: The research method used was observational analytics with 80 third-year students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK UMS), Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia as the samples. Purposive random sampling was used to select samples who met the restriction criteria. To identify relationships and influences between variables, the collected data was analysed using Chi-square test with the alternative Fisher exact test and logistic regression test. Results: There was a significant relationship between drinking coffee (p=0.012) and learning approach (p=0.001) with block completion, but not between learning style with block completion (p=0.594). Learning approach had a stronger relationship. The probability of block completion reaching 98.4% if students drink coffee and use a deep learning approach to prepare for the block exam. Applications/Originality/Value: Drinking coffee and applying a deep approach to learning, support a greater block completion rate.
