Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is a measure of literacy and numeracy achievements, which is used to map the quality of education in Indonesia against international standards. To achieve the demands of the 21st century, one important aspect is assessment. Computer Based Testing (CBT) can be used as a solution for conducting digital assessments. This research aims to determine the quality and feasibility of the AKM instrument for scientific literacy and numeracy. This research method is R&D with the ADDIE type. This research sample used a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 100 students. Expert Validation is carried out by 5 validators. The results of the research show that the development of CBT-based A K M to measure scientific literacy and numeracy skills has very good quality with the average result obtained for scientific literacy being 4.66 and numeration obtaining an average validation score of 4.77. with the "very good" category. The results of the analysis of scientific literacy question types for the average multiple choice question type were 4.8, complex multiple choice 4.7, matching 4.7, description 4.9, and short essay 4.8 with statements of very good/valid quality. Meanwhile, the results of the analysis of numeracy question types for multiple choice question types averaged 4.6, complex multiple choice 4.4, matching 4.6, description 4.7, and short essay 4.7 with a statement that the quality of the five question types was very good/ valid. The feasibility of the AKM Scientific Literacy and Numeracy Instrument was obtained from the validity analysis of the 25 items. The results of the analysis using SPSS show that the number of valid questions is 21 questions in the Eligible category.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the characteristics, validity, readability, and effectiveness of I-SETS teaching devices as well as improve learning outcomes and skills in solving ecosystem material problems. This study used experimental and control classes and then measured the results of the pretest and post test with the N-gain formula. The results of the research showed that the teaching device based on I-SETS has the characteristics of ecosystem material content that is integrated with Islamic values in the Quran and hadith and applies SETS learning measures. (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society). The results of the data analysis showed that in the experimental and control classes, the percentage of N-gain test results was in the range of 0.3-0.7 for MTsN Semarang and MTsN Salatiga with moderate criteria. There was an improvement in environmental problem-solving skills in the experimental class compared to the control class with medium criteria, as well as an elevation of attitudes toward the environment. Students showed excellent criteria. Based on research results, I-SETS-based teaching devices are valid and usable and can improve learning outcomes and skills to solve ecosystem material problems.

Abstract

Computational Thinking (CT) and digital literacy are skills students must possess to adapt and survive amidst the current technological advancements. One way to enhance students’ CT and digital literacy skills is through innovative learning models that align with the material being taught. Biotechnology is one of the subjects that students need to master in Phase E of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the CPS-STEM learning model on students’ CT and digital literacy skills in biotechnology material. This research was conducted from April to May in the 2023/2024 academic year at three high schools in the Kayen, with a total population of 891 students. The sample used in this study was calculated using the Slovin formula, its 8 classes consisting of 2 control groups (72 students) and 2 experimental groups (217 students). This study is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test group design. The STEM approach is integrated with CPS syntax outlined in the teaching module and assisted with student worksheets. CT skills were measured using post-test instruments, while digital literacy skills were measured using questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the CPS-STEM learning model on CT skills, calculated using the N Gain test, while digital literacy skills were measured using a Likert scale. The results showed that the CPS-STEM was effective to improve CT skills in the medium category (0.40), whereas the direct instructional learning model was not effective in enhancing CT skills. This study also showed that the CPS-STEM learning model was effective in enhancing digital literacy skills with a percentage increase of 15.25%

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of differentiated digital student worksheets based on socioscientific issues to improve students’ science literacy. The research employed a quasi-experimental design. The population was all students of class VII MTs N 1 Purbalingga in the 2023/2024 academic year. The sample was taken using the cluster random sampling technique and class VII A was selected as the experimental class and class VII D as the control class. The data collection instrument used a science literacy test. The data analysis technique in this research was carried out using quantitative description. The results of the research show that digital student worksheets are proven to be effective in increasing scientific literacy as seen from the average N-gain in the experimental class of 0,582 in the moderate category, higher than the control class of 0,323 in the moderate category. The results of the independent sample t-test are 0,001 < 0,05, which means there is a significant difference in increasing scientific literacy between the experimental and control classes. It can be concluded that SSI-based differentiated digital student worksheets are effective in increasing the scientific literacy of junior high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to test implementability, effectiveness, describe the characteristics of the Wonosobo local potential-based disaster adaptation and mitigation comics developed. The devices developed are syllabus, lesson plans, and teaching materials in the form of comics. The research sample for the limited scale trial was 10 X grade students using purposive sampling technique. The research population in a wide-scale trial with a Pretest-postest control group design, class X.1 as an experimental class of 30 students and class X.2 as a control class of 31 students. The results showed that the Wonosobo local potential-based disaster adaptation and mitigation comic was suitable for use. The increase in learning outcomes (N-Gain) in the experimental class of 60% is in the medium category or the N-gain interpreta tion category is quite effective. Based on the achievement of KKM, 97% of students reached the set KKM of 68. The conclusion in this study is that the Wonosobo local potential-based disaster adaptation and mitigation comics developed are de clared very valid, very good implementation, and effective for use in learning activi ties on environmental change material. The characteristics of the Wonosobo local potential-based disaster adaptation and mitigation comics developed present data, photos of disaster events and environmental damage in Wonosobo Regency, so that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can be carried out optimally. Comics of disaster adaptation and mitigation based on Wonosobo local potential are recommended to be used by Biology Teachers in Wonosobo Regency in learning environmental change material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Critical Thinking and Environmental Awareness Among Elementary School Student through mini research learning on Ecosystem material, utilizing Semarang’s local potential. The research method employed is qualitative with descriptive qualitative analysis. The subjects of the study were Phase C students from Grade 6 at elementary school (SD) Nongkosawit 01 and SD Islam Bintang Juara, located in Gunungpati, Semarang City. Mini research learning is a teaching method that guides students in conducting scientific processes. This approach leverages Semarang’s local potential, specifically the Tapak Mangrove Forest in Tugurejo, Semarang City, allowing students to learn about the Ecosystem material more contextually and concretely. Ecosystem material is one of the essential topics in the curriculum. The study assessed two main student character traits: critical reasoning and environmental awareness. The analysis of critical reasoning, based on the LKPD assessment and N-gain scores, showed good results. Similarly, environmental awareness, as measured by a questionnaire, indicated that 79.64% of students demonstrated strong character in this area. Based on the findings, mini research learning that incorporates Semarang’s local potential is effective in fostering critical reasoning and environmental awareness among elementary school students.
