Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the storytelling method in developing communication skills in early childhood at Miftahul Ulum Preschool. The background of this study stems from the discovery of several children experiencing communication barriers, such as difficulty expressing desires, lack of confidence, and minimal verbal interaction. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study type to gain an in-depth understanding of the storytelling implementation process and its impact on children's communication skills. The research subjects consisted of a class A teacher and two children aged 4–5 years who showed obstacles in language development. The results showed that the storytelling implementation was carried out through planned preparation, implementation, and closing stages. The teacher carefully prepared the theme, media, and delivery strategies to create an engaging learning experience. During the activity, the teacher used expressions, intonation, props, lead questions, and positive reinforcement to increase children's engagement. Observations revealed differences in communication skills between the two children. Child 1 showed developing verbal and nonverbal responses, while Child 2 was still passive and required additional stimulation.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a fundamental stage in establishing the foundation for children’s holistic development. However, in practice, the demand for early literacy and numeracy skills reading, writing, and arithmetic remains a major concern among parents. This study aims to examine parents’ perceptions of early literacy and numeracy demands in early childhood and their implications for learning practices at PAUD Nurul Ikhsan. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants were three parents of five year old children enrolled in PAUD Nurul Ikhsan, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that parents generally perceive early literacy and numeracy skills as key indicators of children’s academic readiness for primary school. Nevertheless, parents also demonstrate awareness of the importance of setting appropriate boundaries in academic demands, emphasizing that learning should be flexible, enjoyable, and aligned with children’s developmental stages. Various strategies were used by parents to stimulate early literacy and numeracy skills, ranging from home learning assistance to additional tutoring. The study also highlights the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers to prevent excessive academic pressure on children.

Abstract

Creativity is a crucial aspect of early childhood development related to imaginative, exploratory, and original thinking abilities. This study aims to examine the effect of using colored corn seed loose parts media on creativity development in children aged 4-5 years. Loose parts media were chosen for their open-ended nature, accessibility, and strong visual and sensory appeal. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group model. The sample consisted of 20 children divided into experimental (n=10) and control (n=10) groups. Data were collected through observation using a creativity assessment sheet based on indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality. Statistical analysis using t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with t-value of 8.6048 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The average gain score of the experimental group reached 27.7, while the control group only 18.2. These findings indicate that the use of colored corn seed loose parts has a significant positive impact on enhancing children's creativity. This study contributes to the development of environmentally friendly educational media based on local materials that support contextual learning in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

Meskipun Indonesia telah mengadopsi sistem pendidikan inklusif, minimnya pemahaman awal anak tipikal mengenai keberagaman sering menjadi penyebab munculnya respons negatif terhadap Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK), seperti diabaikan, dijauhi, atau bahkan diejek. Kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya peran krusial guru dalam memfasilitasi interaksi sehat dan membentuk sikap penerimaan sosial sejak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerimaan anak tipikal terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) di lingkungan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) inklusi serta mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengelola kelas inklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan telah dilaksanakan di KB Ummatan Wasathon, Kota Serang. Subjek penelitian melibatkan dua orang guru kelas dan sepuluh anak tipikal dari kelompok B. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung di kelas, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data kualitatif deskriptif dilakukan menggunakan analisis interaktif yang terdiri dari tiga komponen, yaitu Reduksi Data, Sajian Data, dan Penarikan Kesimpulan (Verifikasi). Penarikan kesimpulan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerimaan anak tipikal terhadap ABK bervariasi, dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti kemampuan komunikasi, empati, sikap inklusif, dan bimbingan dari guru serta orang tua. Anak-anak yang menerima arahan dan pendampingan sosial-emosional cenderung menunjukkan perilaku yang lebih positif, seperti bermain bersama, membantu, dan menunjukkan kepedulian. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan hambatan, yaitu minimnya pemahaman awal anak tentang keberagaman dan tantangan guru dalam mengelola perbedaan perilaku. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pelatihan guru berkelanjutan tentang praktik inklusif, peningkatan kolaborasi sekolah-orang tua, dan penguatan nilai-nilai inklusif sejak usia dini untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang ramah, menghargai perbedaan, dan mendukung perkembangan sosial seluruh anak tanpa diskriminasi.

Abstract

Kartu prestasi merupakan alat evaluasi yang digunakan di PAUD untuk memantau perkembangan anak dan membangun komunikasi dengan orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penggunaan kartu prestasi pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di PAUD At-Taqwa, khususnya peran aktif orang tua, kolaborasi sekolah-orang tua, dan tanggapan orang tua terhadap hasil kartu prestasi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap satu guru kelas dan lima orang tua murid, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik coding tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) mayoritas orang tua menunjukkan keterlibatan aktif dalam mendampingi anak berdasarkan kartu prestasi meskipun tingkat partisipasinya beragam; (2) kolaborasi antara sekolah dan orang tua terjalin melalui komunikasi rutin dan forum diskusi; (3) sekolah menyediakan ruang diskusi terbuka melalui pertemuan formal dan informal; (4) tanggapan orang tua bervariasi dari positif-reflektif hingga reaktif-emosional; (5) orang tua terlibat dalam pengambilan keputusan meskipun kualitasnya dipengaruhi pemahaman masing-masing. Penelitian ini memperkuat teori keterlibatan orang tua Epstein dan evaluasi pembelajaran, menunjukkan bahwa kartu prestasi efektif sebagai alat komunikasi dua arah ketika didukung literasi orang tua yang memadai.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memiliki peran strategis dalam menentukan arah, budaya kerja, serta kualitas kinerja guru di lingkungan lembaga pendidikan. Gaya kepemimpinan yang efektif tidak hanya berfokus pada pengawasan, tetapi juga pada kemampuan untuk menginspirasi, memotivasi, dan menumbuhkan potensi setiap individu dalam organisasi sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru RA di Kecamatan Panimbang. Kepemimpinan transformasional mencakup upaya perubahan organisasi sekolah yang menginspirasi pengikutnya untuk mengutamakan kepentingan sekolah, mengarah pada kinerja superior dalam organisasi yang sedang menghadapi tuntutan pembaharuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif Ex Post Facto dengan populasi 44 guru RA dan sampel 31 responden yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data menggunakan uji asumsi klasik (normalitas, multikolinearitas, heteroskedastisitas, autokorelasi) dan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa uji t variabel gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah diperoleh t-hitung sebesar 11,002 dan t-tabel sebesar 2,045 (11,002 > 2,045), yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan. Koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,807 atau 80,7% menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap kinerja guru RA di Kecamatan Panimbang.

Abstract

Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD)   is an emotional problem often experienced in early childhood, especially when they first enter an educational environment. This condition can hinder the adaptation process, independence, and involvement of children in learning activities. Therefore, the role of teachers and parents is an important factor in helping children overcome separation anxiety. This study aims to describe the role of teachers and parents in overcoming SAD in early childhood at PAUD. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method because it allows researchers to explore in depth the behavior of children and the dynamics of interaction between children, teachers, and parents in a natural context. The research subject was one child at the Al-Hafidz Early Childhood Education Center in Cipocok Jaya, Serang City. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study, based on observation and interviews, showed that the child experienced symptoms of SAD, such as crying when separated from parents, refusing to enter the classroom, and showing high emotional dependence. Teachers act as surrogate figures who provide a sense of security through play-based approaches, empathetic communication, and enjoyable learning strategies. Meanwhile, parents, especially mothers, play a role through permissive parenting patterns that influence the child's condition. Intensive collaboration between teachers and parents has a positive impact on improving the child's independence and adaptability
