Abstract

This study investigates the interaction and impact of key variables in the supply chain, including commodity availability, shipping information, port infrastructure, warehouse integrators, and fuel prices in reverse logistics. Through a deeper understanding of these variables, this study aims to help companies identify challenges, optimize operational performance, and develop adaptive strategies in the face of market and environmental changes. Conduct a thorough literature review of related research in the areas of port infrastructure, warehouse integration, and commodity availability to gain a deep understanding of current issues and trends. This qualitative research contributes to the results of its research for reference and is used by other researchers. By paying attention to all these factors, companies can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their reverse logistics operations and reduce their activities' environmental impact. In addition, further research and proper strategy implementation are essential to achieve optimal results in reverse logistics.

Abstract

Getting the right items to the right place at the right time under the appropriate conditions is the goal of logistics, which will benefit the business. Businesses took a while to understand how crucial logistics were to gaining a competitive edge over rivals. The research was conducted in nickel processing companies in the eastern part of Indonesia, specifically in Sulawesi, involving 2 (two) companies in the Konawe region, Southeast Sulawesi, and 1 (one) company in the North Morowali region, Central Sulawesi which have obtained bonded zone facilities from Customs. The research involves 100 respondents, consisting of employees and managers responsible for the supply chain and directly involved in logistic activities. The type of research is quantitative with a survey approach. Data is collected through instruments in the form of statement sheets with a Likert scale model that has been tested. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression using SmartPLS. The results of the analysis show: (1) Customs and Excise have a significant positive effect on competitive advantage; (2) Infrastructure has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage; (3) International shipping has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage; (4) Service Quality has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage; (5) Search Tracking has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage; (6) Timeliness has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage. Several recommendations and policy implications were also presented.

Abstract

Literature review research on Airline Network Determination, Flight Model Choice, Flight Plan and Strategic Alliance, Employee Salary, Number of Ground Employees and Passenger Target on Airline Quality is a scientific literature article in the scope of operational management science. The purpose of this literature research is expected to build a hypothesis regarding the influence between variables that can later be used for further research in the scope of operational management. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique uses literature studies. The data used in this descriptive qualitative approach comes from previous research that is relevant to this study and is sourced from academic online media such as the Scopus Journal, Web of Science, Sinta Journal, DOAJ, EBSCO, Google Scholar and digital reference books. The results of this article are: 1) Airline network affects airline quality; 2) Flight model choice affects airline quality; 3) Flight plans and strategic alliances affect airline quality; 4) Employee salary affects airline quality; 5) The number of ground employees affects airline quality; and 6) Passenger target affects airline quality.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop hypotheses regarding factors that influence employee turnover, with a particular focus on the land transportation sector in Indonesia. The land transportation industry is characterized by high employee mobility and operational demands, making turnover a critical issue that directly affects service quality, safety, and organizational sustainability. Understanding the underlying factors is therefore essential for designing effective human resource policies and reducing workforce instability. Methodology: This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review. Descriptive qualitative studies aim to systematically synthesize and interpret findings from previous research without relying on statistical data analysis (Creswell & Poth, 2018). Comparative analysis was used to identify patterns and relationships across multiple studies. The data were collected from academic sources such as Thomson Reuters Journals, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Scopus Q2–Q4 Emerald, Elsevier, Sage, Web of Science, Sinta 2–5 Journals, DOAJ, EBSCO, Google Scholar, Copernicus, and digital reference books. Results: The review identifies ten key findings: work engagement, remuneration, and leadership directly affect both career path and turnover; career path itself strongly influences turnover; and work engagement and remuneration indirectly affect turnover through career path. Conclusions: Employee turnover depends on engagement, leadership, and career opportunities; strengthening these reduces turnover and enhances workforce stability in transportation. Limitations: Future research should include transportation data to strengthen findings. Contribution: This study enhances understanding of employee turnover by examining work engagement, remuneration, leadership, and career path.

Abstract

Indonesia is located along the equator and at the convergence of three major tectonic plates, making it prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and landslides. BNPB and BPBD manage disaster logistics using technology-based warehouse management systems (WMS) to improve aid distribution efficiency. This study examines the combined impact of warehouse management systems and employee capabilities on work productivity using a Lean Warehousing approach, which has not been extensively explored in previous research. The study was conducted at BNPB Jatiasih warehouse and BPBD warehouses across Java Island using observations, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 98 respondents. Data were analyzed with SPSS 24.00, employing descriptive statistics, multiple regression, F-tests, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). Most respondents were male (76.8%) with a bachelor’s degree (39.8%). Validity tests showed that variables including inventory management, picking, item placement, employee skills, and lean warehousing had valid correlations above 0.202. Descriptive analysis indicated that warehouse management at BNPB and BPBD is effective but needs improvements in IT utilization, picking efficiency, inventory recording, and employee skills. Statistical tests confirmed that all variables significantly influence lean warehousing and productivity at a 95% confidence level. The study contributes novel insights by demonstrating how technology and employee capability synergistically enhance lean warehousing performance in disaster logistics. Strategic recommendations include routine employee training, strengthened cooperation through coaching and briefings, and optimized budget use via internal audits and independent utilization of logistical assets.
