Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk pengembangan kompetensi guru serta menganalisis kontribusinya terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa di SD Swasta Katolik Mariana Medan. Kompetensi guru merupakan aspek penting dalam menentukan kualitas pembelajaran, yang mencakup kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, kepribadian, dan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, yang diperoleh dari guru, kepala sekolah, siswa, serta laporan asistensi mengajar mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di sekolah tersebut telah mengembangkan kompetensi mengajarnya melalui berbagai metode, seperti penggunaan media pembelajaran, pengelolaan kelas, serta keterlibatan dalam kegiatan sekolah yang bersifat akademik maupun non-akademik. Pengembangan kompetensi ini terbukti berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan keterlibatan, motivasi, dan capaian akademik siswa. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan yang perlu diatasi, seperti keterbatasan variasi metode pembelajaran dan pengembangan profesional yang belum merata. Dengan demikian, pengembangan kompetensi guru secara berkelanjutan perlu terus diupayakan agar proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih efektif dan mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

Program asistensi mengajar merupakan bagian integral dari implementasi Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) yang memberikan kesempatan bagi mahasiswa untuk terlibat langsung dalam dinamika pembelajaran di satuan pendidikan. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kontribusi mahasiswa Universitas Katolik Santo Thomas dalam meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan belajar di SDN 101830 Tanjung Selamat melalui berbagai kegiatan akademik dan non-akademik. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif berbasis praktik lapangan selama empat bulan, dengan pendekatan partisipatif kolaboratif bersama guru dan siswa. Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi pendampingan literasi untuk siswa kelas rendah dan tinggi, pengajaran keterampilan menyulam sebagai media pembentukan karakter, serta aksi nyata perbaikan lingkungan fisik seperti pengecatan dinding sekolah dan pembenahan taman. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kenyamanan ruang belajar, antusiasme siswa dalam kegiatan literasi, serta berkembangnya nilai-nilai ketekunan, kreativitas, dan tanggung jawab. Selain memberikan dampak positif bagi sekolah, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat kompetensi pedagogis, sosial, dan kepemimpinan mahasiswa sebagai calon pendidik profesional. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa asistensi mengajar tidak hanya berkontribusi pada penguatan proses pembelajaran, tetapi juga pada transformasi ekosistem sekolah yang lebih mendukung perkembangan holistik peserta didik.

Abstract

Pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis digital menjadi salah satu kebutuhan penting bagi guru sekolah dasar dalam menghadirkan pembelajaran yang menarik, aktif, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik abad ke-21. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi guru sekolah dasar dalam merancang, mengembangkan, dan mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis digital. Mitra kegiatan adalah guru-guru di SDN Besamat dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 14 orang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelatihan, pendampingan praktik, presentasi produk, evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut. Materi pendampingan mencakup konsep media pembelajaran interaktif, pemanfaatan aplikasi digital sederhana, desain konten pembelajaran, penyusunan kuis interaktif, serta strategi penggunaan media dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai prinsip pengembangan media digital dan mampu menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran interaktif sesuai mata pelajaran yang diampu. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong peningkatan motivasi guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi sebagai bagian dari inovasi pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, pendampingan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam penguatan kompetensi digital guru sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The influence of discovery learning and expository learning models on student learning outcomes, 2) The influence of social skills on student learning outcomes. 3) The interaction between learning models and social skills on student learning outcomes. This study used a quasi-experimental research method. The research was conducted from April to May 2021.The population of this study were 48 students of grade V SDN 034799 Doloktolong who were chosen randomly by random sampling technique. The sample is the VA class as many as 24 people as the experimental class and the VB class as many as 24 people as the control class. Data collection techniques using social skills questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used two-way analysis of variance. The results of the study are as follows: (1) There are differences in learning outcomes students who were taught with the discovery learning model with an average value of 85,556 higher than the learning outcomes of students taught by the expository learning model with an average of 76,944, the results of the analysis of variance showed that the Fcount value was 71.11> the Ftable value was 3.20 and the probability or significance value 0.00 <0.05, so H0 is rejected; (2) There is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students with high social skills and the average84,364and students who have low social skills on average 67.00. Result of analysis of variance obtained Fcount value of 17.35> Ftable value of 3.20 and a significant value of 0.017 <0.05, so that H0 is rejected; (3) There is an interaction between discovery learning models and students social skills in improving student PPKn learning outcomes, the results of analysis of variance Fcount value of 6,021> Ftable value of 3.20 and a significance of 0.018 <0.05, so that H0 is rejected.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 066050 Medan Denai in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study is motivated by the low student learning outcomes caused by the use of learning models that do not involve students' activeness and critical thinking skills in the learning process. This study uses an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this study amounted to 30 students. Data collection techniques used learning outcome tests and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out through normality tests and hypothesis tests using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed that the average pretest score was 43.86 and the average posttest score was 81.87, resulting in an increase of 38.01. The results of the normality test indicate that the data are normally distributed. Furthermore, the results of the hypothesis test used the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). This indicates a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that the Problem-Based Learning model has an effect on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students at SD Negeri 066050 Medan Denai in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

Character education is an important part in shaping attitudes and behavior, students in elementary schools, This study aims to determine the learning strategies used by teachers in improving students' character education through dance extracurricular activities at SDN 065012. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that teachers implemented habituation strategies, role models, providing motivation in groups, and repeating exercises. These strategies were able to improve the character of discipline, responsibility in groups, compliance with rules, and students' self-confidence. The obstacles faced included, lack of discipline among students, differences in abilities, limited facilities and infrastructure, and lack of parental support. Efforts made by teachers were to provide mentoring, motivation, evaluation, and establish communication with parents. Thus, extracurricular activities, dance, have a positive message in improving students' character education at SDN 065012.

Abstract

Science and social studies learning in elementary schools still faces challenges related to students’ low learning outcomes due to limited active participation in the learning process. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model on the science and social studies learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 28 fifth-grade students at Sukamaju Catholic Elementary School, Medan Sunggal, selected through total sampling. The research instrument was a learning achievement test administered before and after the implementation of the NHT model. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, and a paired sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that students’ mean pretest score was 57.3, which increased to 84.7 in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 27.4 points. After the implementation of the NHT model, 22 students, or 79%, achieved the learning objective achievement criteria. The paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between students’ learning outcomes before and after the treatment. Therefore, the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model had a positive and significant effect on fifth-grade students’ science and social studies learning outcomes. This model can be used as an active learning alternative that promotes cooperation, responsibility, and student engagement in understanding science and social studies material.

Abstract

This study was conducted at SD Negeri 076098 Dao-Dao involving 30 fifth-grade students as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. The research was motivated by the low level of student activeness, understanding, and creativity due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods. To address this issue, a Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on Nias local cultural wisdom was implemented on the topic “Oh, Damaged Environment.” The study aimed to determine the effect of the PjBL model on students’ creativity in IPAS learning. The research employed an experimental method with a pretest-posttest design. Research instruments included learning achievement tests and creativity questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability (r = 0.899). The results showed an increase in the average score from 55.4 in the pretest to 82.93 in the posttest, with 26 out of 30 students achieving mastery learning. The questionnaire results indicated a very positive response with an average score of 86.80. The normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (Lcount 0.1167 < Ltable 0.161), while the correlation test produced rcount 0.975 > rtable 0.361, indicating a very strong relationship between the PjBL model and students’ creativity. The hypothesis test showed tcount 23.442 > ttable 1.697, thus Ha was accepted. The increase in creativity was observed in aspects of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model based on Nias local cultural wisdom has a positive and significant effect on enhancing students’ creativity in IPAS learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Learning Pancasila Education in elementary schools requires media that can increase student engagement while supporting the achievement of learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effect of interactive quiz media based on gamification-oriented Wordwall on learning outcomes and learning motivation of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent pretest–posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of 40 students consisting of 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. The experimental class participated in learning using gamification-oriented Wordwall, while the control class participated in learning using conventional exercises. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and learning motivation questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-Gain, independent samples t-test, and Cohen's d. The results showed that the average posttest learning outcome of the experimental class was 80.60, higher than the control class at 73.10. The N-Gain value of the experimental class was 0.51, while the control class was 0.26. The experimental class' learning motivation increased from 68.40 to 83.10, while the control class's increased from 67.90 to 76.55. The results of the hypothesis test indicate that Wordwall significantly impacts student learning outcomes and motivation. Therefore, interactive quizzes based on Wordwall with a gamification orientation can be used as an alternative learning medium for Pancasila Education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Value Clarification Technique model based on moral dilemmas on the character of responsibility of elementary school students in PKn learning. The character of responsibility is one of the important aspects that need to be developed from an early age because it is related to students' abilities in carrying out tasks, obeying rules, completing obligations, and having the courage to accept the consequences of each action. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the study were elementary school students who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class was given learning using the Value Clarification Technique model based on moral dilemmas, while the control class used conventional learning. The research instruments were a questionnaire on the character of responsibility, observation sheets, and learning documentation. Data were analyzed through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests to determine differences in students' character of responsibility before and after treatment. The results of the study are expected to show that the application of the Value Clarification Technique model based on moral dilemmas has a positive influence on strengthening students' character of responsibility in PKn learning. This model encourages students to understand values, choose the right attitude, provide reasons for their choices, and apply the value of responsibility in everyday life. Thus, the moral dilemma-based Value Clarification Technique can be an effective alternative model for civics (PKn) learning in shaping the character of elementary school students.
