Abstract

Abstract

Energy is a factor that has a very important role in various economic activities and people's lives. The availability of energy and fuel oil is currently lacking, indicating the need to switch to alternative fuels, one of which is charcoal briquettes. Sugarcane bagasse is one of the many biomasses that can be used. as a raw material for making briquettes. The process of making charcoal briquettes requires additional material in the form of an adhesive whose purpose is to glue the charcoal powder so that it becomes a solid form. As a binder for briquettes, molasses has the potential to increase the calorific value because it is rich in carbon content derived from sucrose which is abundant in molasses. Therefore, a study was conducted to analyze the fuel characteristics of bagasse briquettes with adhesive variations in the form of tapioca flour and molasses. The parameters to be tested are moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content during the heating process, bound carbon and heating value. Research on the production of charcoal briquettes was carried out using bagasse waste with variations in the addition of tapioca adhesive and molasses. It can be concluded that the best quality briquettes are A1 briquettes, namely bagasse briquettes with 0.5 gram of adhesive drops, which are close to the standard criteria of briquettes, namely the highest calorific value, lowest moisture content, lowest ash content and lowest volatile matter content.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) is a chronic inflammatory and infectious disease of the middle ear or mastoid cavity that can result in the loss of bodily functions or even death. The higher concentration of CSOM is found in developing nations such as Indonesia, where the population cannot afford treatment. In cases of persistent otorrhea following 3 weeks of treatment with topical ear antibiotics, oral antibiotics may be considered as a second line of treatment. Topical ear antibiotics are insufficiently available at healthcare facilities because they are not included in the Indonesian National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM).Objectives: The objective of this study was to compare the cost-effectiveness of topical ear antibiotics versus oral antibiotics in the treatment of chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM).Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study using retrospective data from medical records and cost assessments at a rural hospital in the Gowa district of South Sulawesi. The effectiveness of the treatments was evaluated based on the frequency of visits to the ENT department, with antibiotic prescriptions and positive otorrhea. Results: The findings revealed that the Average Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ACER) for topical ear antibiotics was Rp 161,020, while the ACER for oral antibiotics was Rp 286,968. The Incremental Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) was determined to be Rp 351, and the Incremental Net Benefit (INB) was positive (Rp 99,857) at threshold Rp 434,500.Conclusion: Our study found that topical ear antibiotics were more cost-effective than oral antibiotics when considering the INB values based on INA-CBGs, along with fluctuations in cost-effectiveness using sensitivity analysis.

Abstract

Testing of mobile applications (apps) has its quirks as numerous events are required to be tested. Mobile apps testing, being an evolving domain, carries certain challenges that should be accounted for in the overall testing process. Since smartphone apps are moderate in size so we consider that model-based testing (MBT) using state machines and statecharts could be a promising option for ensuring maximum coverage and completeness of test cases. Using model-based testing approach, we can automate the tedious phase of test case generation, which not only saves time of the overall testing process but also minimizes defects and ensures maximum test case coverage and completeness. In this paper, we explore and model the most critical modules of the mobile app for generating test cases to ascertain the efficiency and impact of using model-based testing. Test cases for the targeted model of the application under test were generated on a real device. The experimental results indicate that our framework reduced the time required to execute all the generated test cases by 50%. Experimental setup and results are reported herein.

Abstract

Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh is one of the leading State Islamic Religious Universities in Indonesia that sets a maximum seven-year study period for undergraduate programs. However, the current delivery of information regarding study period limits and credit achievement is still conventional and not proactive, causing many students to be unaware of their remaining study period and the number of credits that must still be completed, which risks leading to academic dropout. To address this problem, an Android-based student study period notification application was developed with an integrated full-stack architecture. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Waterfall model which includes requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The application was developed using Flutter as front-end, FastAPI as back-end, and PostgreSQL as database. System testing was conducted using Black-Box Testing on 28 test scenarios. The research results show that all application features function according to specifications, including real-time notification delivery to students, so this system will be able to increase student awareness of remaining study period and credit achievement, and has the potential to reduce dropout risk and support on-time graduation.

Abstract

This study investigates how higher psychological resilience and physical performance are enabled by mental development, mental hardness, lexical memory, and conditional motivation. It investigates how the psychological factors enable long-term motivation, disease avoidance, and mental improvement—factors that all come together to make the athlete more resilient both psychologically and physically.

Abstract

Metacognitive awareness is the ability to reflect upon one's own thinking, experience, and environment. Self-awareness, or the ability to recognize oneself as an individuated self and introspect upon one's own feelings, ideas, and behavior, is a master dimension of consciousness. The argument in this research addresses theories of consciousness, brain origins, and the emergence of self-awareness as it seeks to grasp identity, cognition, and the subjective quality of experience. The relationship between higher-level cognitive processes such as memory, perception, and decision-making and consciousness is also studied to build an impression of how the human brain works.
