Abstract

Abstract

Celery (Apium graveolens L.) is a vegetable that has many health benefits because it contains nutrients and antioxidants that makes it popular among the public, but its production is relatively low. One way to improve the quality and quantity of celery plants is to provide liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) of banana peel and coconut water which contains essential nutrients such as calcium, phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, magnesium, sodium, sulfur, sugar, protein, and two hormones. namely cytokinins and auxins which are needed in the growth of the plant. The study aims to analyze the growth response of celery plants given liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from banana peel and coconut water. The type of research is an experiment with a complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of 7 treatments, namely (P0 = Control, P1 = 10% banana peel, P2 = 15% banana peel, P3 = 20% banana peel, P4 = 10% coconut water, P5 = 15% coconut water, and P6 = 20% coconut water), each treatment is repeated 6 times with a total sample of 42. The observed variables were plant height, number of leaves, and number of tillers measured at 6 WAP, 8 WAP, 10 WAP, and 12 WAP. Data analysis used ANOVA followed by a 5% significant BNT test with the help of the SPPS 25 program. The results of the research showed that the best growth was at the age of 12 WAP with a concentration of 20% organic fertilizer and banana waste organic fertilizer was more effective than coconut water in increasing the response of celery plant growth.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of macroscopic fungi found in the forest area of Namo Village, Kulawi Subdistrict, Sigi Regency. The research employed an exploratory method with a free collection sampling technique. Sampling was conducted at three different stations: forest area, plantation, and residential settlement. The observational data were analyzed descriptively and identified using reference books, scientific publications, and the Google Lens application. The results of the study revealed a total of 30 species of macroscopic fungi, classified into two phyla, namely Basidiomycota and Ascomycota, encompassing 4 classes, 7 orders, and 16 families. The Basidiomycota phylum dominated with the highest number of species, comprising 21 genera, 14 families, and 5 orders. In contrast, the Ascomycota phylum consisted of only 2 genera, 2 families, and 2 orders. These findings indicate a high diversity of macroscopic fungi, highlighting the potential of these biological resources for educational purposes and further scientific research.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between learning styles, learning independence, and learning interest with biology learning outcomes among Grade X students at SMA Negeri 5 Palu. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. A total of 176 students were selected using proportional random sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires and documentation of biology scores. Data analysis involved validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed a significant relationship between learning style (r = 0.668), learning independence (r = 0.747), and learning interest (r = 0.732) with biology learning outcomes (p < 0.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed that the three variables simultaneously influenced learning outcomes, with the regression equation Y = 9.771 + 0.502X₁ + 0.314X₂ + 0.357X₃ and R² = 0.656. This indicates that the three independent variables contribute 65.6% to the variance in biology learning outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of internal student characteristics in academic achievement, especially in biology learning.

Abstract

Learning in the Economic Botany and Horticulture course is still dominated by lectures, resulting in limited student procedural skills and the absence of structured teaching materials. This study aims to develop and evaluate an eco-enzyme e-module to improve conceptual understanding, practical competence, and learning effectiveness. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, the study involved expert validation, a limited trial with one class, and pre-test/post-test assessment. Data was analyzed through descriptive validation scores, practicality ratings, and N-gain effectiveness. Results show that expert validation yielded very feasible scores for content (90%), media (88%), and instructional design (86%). The practicality test produced a very practical overall score of 87%, indicating high usability, readability, visual appeal, accessibility, and engagement. Implementation of the e-module increased students’ mean score from 62.4 (pre-test) to 91.2 (post-test), generating an N-gain of 0.77 categorized as high effectiveness. The e-module successfully integrates conceptual explanations, fermentation procedures, multimedia features, and project-based activities related to eco-enzyme production. In conclusion, the eco-enzyme e-module is valid, practical, and effective for supporting independent learning and enhancing students’ conceptual and procedural skills in accordance with the course learning outcomes.
