Abstract

Smart farming memiliki potensi besar untuk mengatasi tantangan efisiensi pertanian dan memastikan ketahanan pangan. Konsep smart farming juga menawarkan solusi inovatif untuk mengubah teknik pertanian tradisional dan meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dengan melibatkan penggunaan teknologi terkini seperti Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, dan machine learning. Smart farming mempunyai potensi untuk menarik generasi muda ke bidang pertanian. Kegiatan pengabdian ini melibatkan Komunitas Petani Muda Klaten yang memiliki peran sentral dalam menciptakan inovasi baru di bidang pertanian. Program pengabdian ini fokus pada pendampingan bagi para petani muda untuk mengenal lebih jauh tentang teknologi-teknologi terkini yang dapat digunakan di bidang pertanian, dan penguatan literasi smart farming. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengindikasikan bahwa 52,08% petani setuju bahwa informasi berkenaan dengan smart farming yang disajikan para pengabdi komprehensif, mudah dipahami dan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang smart farming. Dari aspek literasi, 58,33% petani setuju bahwa program pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi efektif meningkatkan literasi smart farming mereka, selain itu pemahaman mereka tentang smart farming juga semakin bertambah. Sementara itu dari aspek pengembangan keterampilan diperoleh bahwa 47,92% petani setuju bahwa pelatihan tentang implementasi IoT yang diberikan tim pengabdi bermanfaat dan bersifat praktis, serta meningkatkan keterampilan teknis mereka dalam teknologi smart farming.

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is a biomaterial containing calcium phosphate with the chemical formula which is similar to the structure of human bone, so it is good for the purpose of healing human bones and teeth. HAp synthesis has several methods that can affect the results of HAp synthesis, such as the method of mixing CaO with phosphate, namely mixing with ultrasonic machines and magnetic stirrers. However, the discussion about the difference of HAp results with the mixing method of ultrasonic machine and magnetic stirrer is still rarely done. Therefore, it is important to examine and compare the characteristics of HAp synthesized by ultrasonic and magnetic stirrer mixing. The result of XRD test shows that HA1 has a purity of weight percentage (wt.%) of HAp crystal of 99.8%, while HA2 has a weight percentage (wt.%) of HAp crystal of 97.7%. For the FTIR test results of both specimens detected the presence of phosphate groups, and hydoxide, where both are the basic form of hydroxyapatite. Carbonate groups were also detected in the test, but it cannot be said to be bad because carbonate is a natural substitute for phosphate.

Abstract

This research investigates the effects of incorporating potassium nitrate (KNO₃) into coconut shell charcoal briquettes, emphasizing their physical and chemical characteristics. Briquettes were manufactured utilizing coconut shell charcoal powder, tapioca flour as a binder, and different concentrations of KNO₃ (0% and 10%) as an additive. The aim was to assess the impact of KNO₃ incorporation on the water content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value, and density of the briquettes. The findings indicated that incorporating KNO₃ resulted in elevated water and ash content, adversely affecting combustion efficiency. Briquettes with increased water content demonstrated reduced mechanical strength and inferior combustion performance. The addition of KNO₃ led to an increased volatile matter content, facilitating ignition of the briquettes while simultaneously resulting in higher smoke emissions. The addition of KNO₃ resulted in a decrease in fixed carbon content, which subsequently lowered the calorific value of the briquettes. The formulation without KNO₃ produced the densest briquette, suggesting that including KNO₃ reduced the briquette density. The inclusion of KNO₃ enhances ignition characteristics; however, it concurrently diminishes the briquettes' overall quality regarding combustion efficiency and calorific value. The Briquette B_1 exhibited the highest results in this investigation, with water content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon content, calorific value, and density values of 4.97%, 1.87%, 17.25%, 80.88%, 7014 Cal/g, and 0.90 g/cm³, respectively.

Abstract

The use of natural materials like rattan in eco-friendly composites is gaining attention in materials engineering. However, its hydrophilic nature and interaction with other materials can affect mechanical strength. This study investigates how variations in rattan size and alkali treatment influence the tensile properties of single rattan strips through an epoxy dipping process. Rattan was prepared with varying lengths (5–15 cm), widths (3–8 mm), and a consistent thickness (0.5 mm). Alkali treatment used 5% and 10% NaOH concentrations for 1 and 24 hours. Tensile testing showed that a 5 cm × 8 mm strip achieved the highest tensile strength (49.95 MPa), Young's modulus (3562.77 MPa), and low strain (5.4%), while the 15 cm × 3 mm strip had the lowest strength (9.48 MPa) and modulus (475.69 MPa) with higher strain (10.32%). A 5% NaOH treatment for 24 hours improved adhesion and performance, while 10% caused degradation.

Abstract

Soket prostesis berperan penting dalam meningkatkan rehabilitas mobilitas pasien pasca amputasi demi mengembalikan pola gaya berjalan mendekati normal. Proses pembuatan soket prostesis memerlukan waktu dan biaya tinggi yang berdampak pada terbatasnya produksi. Teknologi 3D printing menawarkan solusi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi. Namun, saat ini ketersediaan soket prostesis hasil 3D printing masih terbatas, dan penelitian mengenai performa mekanisnya terhadap siklus gaya berjalan belum banyak dilakukan. Dengan demikian, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi dan menggambarkan performa material Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), dan Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) pada soket prostesis yang produksi melalui 3D printing. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode elemen hingga dengan kondisi pembebanan yang mensimulasikan siklus gaya berjalan. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi fase heel-strike sebagai kondisi paling kritis selama siklus gaya berjalan dengan distribusi tegangan terpusat pada bagian posterior-distal soket. Material PET unggul dalam ketahanan lebih tinggi dengan faktor keamanan 1,393 dan tegangan von-Mises maksimum 37,65 MPa. Sedangkan, ABS memberikan kemampuan menahan deformasi lebih baik, dengan total deformasi 5,296 mm dan efektivitas biaya lebih rendah. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam pengembangan soket prostesis yang dipersonalisasi secara efisien dan aman melalui pendekatan simulasi struktural berbasis numerik, serta menawarkan rekomendasi pemilihan material yang optimal terhadap performa dan fungsionalitas soket prostesis hasil 3D printing.

Abstract

One of the challenges faced in the recent learning process is that students have low psychomotor competency in learning job sheets related to the electrical systems of light vehicle bodies, such as in the lighting system, power window, sign lamp system, mirror cleaning system, and AC system. The use of unengaging job sheets led to low learning motivation and a decline in students’ psychomotor competencies. This study aimed to investigate the impact of a project-based learning job sheet on enhancing the psychomotor competencies of vocational students in the electrical systems of light vehicle bodies, including components such as the lighting system, power windows, signal lamp system, mirror cleaning system, and air conditioning system. This job sheet incorporated an innovative approach by integrating interactive visuals via QR codes, providing tutorial simulations of electrical systems in light vehicle bodies. This job sheet assisted students in understanding the material while encouraging active participation, collaboration, and high learning motivation. The present study employed research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Research subject of this study is XI grade students of Light Vehicle Engineering at Vocational (SMK) Gardua Nusantara Karanggawen with applied quantitative approach. The data collection technique used pre-test and post-test, with the results analyzed using linear regression through the SPSS application. The validation result of media and material expert showed that the developed jobsheet is very feasible with an average score of 4.83 (scale of 5). The practicality test carried out by the teacher achieved 86.55%, or it was declared as very practical. The jobsheet effectivity was proven through N-Gain significant score in the experimental class, which gained 76.94%, while the control class achieved 26.70%. In conclusion, the project-based learning job sheet is effective in enhancing students’ psychomotor competencies and has become a feasible medium for instruction.

Abstract

Developing Industry-Based Job Sheets to Improve Student Competence in Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Tune-Up for the Light Vehicle Engineering Program at SMK Miftahul Huda. The main issue addressed in this study is students' low competency exam scores on EFI system materials, which result from the use of conventional learning media that do not meet industry standards. This research used a development research model with the Research and Development (R&D) approach, carried out through several stages: needs analysis, design, expert validation, limited trials, and effectiveness testing. Data was collected via expert validation questionnaires, practical questionnaires completed by teachers and students, and an effectiveness test using a pre-test and post-test control group design. Validation results showed that the job sheet was categorized as “highly valid,” with an average score of 4.85 from both media and material experts. The practicality test indicated that teachers and students rated the job sheet as “highly practical,” with an average score of 91.7%. Additionally, the effectiveness test demonstrated a significant improvement in the experimental class compared to the control class. The experimental class achieved an N-Gain score of 76.23% (high category), while the control class reached only 43.22% (medium category)

Abstract

The digital competence of teachers is a crucial aspect in supporting the success of technology-based learning implementation. However, at SMK Merdeka Ulujami, issues were found regarding the low use of effective digital media in the learning process, mainly due to limited training and the lack of integrated media. This study aims to develop a website-based Learning Management System (LMS) as a solution to improve the digital competence of teachers. This research is a type of R&D with the development model being ADDIE. The LMS was developed using the WordPress platform and the Tutor LMS plugin, designed to support blended learning. The research was conducted at SMK Merdeka Ulujami with a total of 20 teachers as participants. Normality testing was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk method, which showed normal results. Data analysis used paired sample t-tests and Normalized Gain. The results showed a significant improvement in the digital competence of teachers after using the LMS, with a Normalized Gain score of 0.93 or 93%, which is categorized as effective. Observations and interviews indicated that the LMS helped teachers manage digital classrooms efficiently and in a structured manner. However, challenges remain, especially with older teachers who are less familiar with software, highlighting the need for continuous support.

Abstract

The learning problem of SMK N 1 Petarukan students of light vehicle engineering is the low achievement in understanding light vehicle engine materials. This research aims to develop, analyse the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of Articulate Storyline learning media in improving students' engineering knowledge. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design,Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The assessment of the feasibility of the media was carried out by three experts in the material and media, the practicality of the media in the value of 12 educators in this study72 students of class XI TKR SMKN 1 Petarukan. The results of the study show that the media that learning Articulate Storyline was declared feasible and practical. Statistical analysis showed a significant improvement after treatment. From the results of the N-gain test, the experimental class achieved an increase of 56.64% (medium category) compared to the control class of only 20.08% (low category). This shows an increase in student knowledge using the developed learning media. The Articulate Storyline interactive learning media has proven feasible and effective in improving the engineering knowledge of SMK students in light vehicle engineering.

Abstract

The problem that arises during tissue culture learning is the limited laboratory facilities. The imbalance between the amount of equipment and the number of students causes the practicum to be carried out in turns for a long time, and is less efficient. The impact is that most students, after being assessed, obtain scores that are not as expected. Due to these problems, efforts are needed to utilize multimedia in virtual laboratories. This study aims to develop a virtual tissue culture laboratory at the Agribusiness Plant and Horticulture Vocational School and analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of the virtual tissue culture laboratory at the Agribusiness Plant and Horticulture Vocational School. This study uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The experimental method used is a one-group pre-test-post-test design, with the selected sample being the XI ATPH class, which has 36 students in the experimental class and 36 students as instrument testing subjects. The results showed that the virtual laboratory was categorized as feasible for tissue culture learning based on assessments by media and material experts. The virtual laboratory was also considered very practical for tissue culture learning. Based on the N-Gain Score calculation, the virtual laboratory improved tissue culture learning outcomes with a high category. This study concludes that the virtual laboratory can overcome the problem of limited practical facilities.
