Abstract

Waste made from plastic, especially plastic sacks has become a national problem because of the intensity of its ever increasing use and the behaviour of the people who are less concerned about the environment, so as soon to find control efforts that are pro-environment, pro-technology and pro-economic. This research aims to analyze the bending strength, modulus of elasticity, and the degree of deflexivity of the lamina composite panels from used plastic sacks as an alternative material which is tough, lightweight, and strong. The research method used was an experimental method with the category of Pre-Experimental Designs type Static Group Comparations. The tests were conducted for the control groups and experimental groups. The experimental group is the group that is treated by varying the orientation of the used woven plastic sack fibers 0°/0°/0°/0°, 0°/+30°/0°/+30°, 0°/+45°/0°/+45°, 0°/+60°/0°/+60° and 0°/+90°/0°/+90°. The control group in this study were specimens that were not treated in the form of bumpers as product controls. The specimens of bending test are using the ASTM D790 standard. The results of the research reveal that the orientation of the fiber affects the bending strength of the lamina composite based on used plastic sacks. The highest bending strength in fiber orientation 0°/+60°/0°/+6°.. is 123.4 N/mm² and the that previous price is 24.96% higher than the bumper bending strength as a product control of 92, 6 N/mm². Debonding occurs on test specimens due to the release of bond in the contact area of the fiber-matrix caused by the shearing forces that the matrix cannot hold.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh campuran biodiesel minyak rumput laut gracilaria verrucosapada bahan bakar solar terhadap unjuk kerja dan emisi gas buang mesin diesel.Produksi biodiesel minyak rumput laut menggunakan metode transesterifikasi. Variasi campuran biodiesel yang digunakan pada bahan bakar solar yaitu sebesar B-0, B-5, B-10, dan B-15 dan putaran mesin (rpm) yang digunakan pada 1600, 1800, 2000, 2300 dan 2500. Pengujian unjuk kerja mesin diesel menggunakan eddy current dynamometer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campuran biodiesel B-10 menghasilkan unjuk kerja dan emisi gas buang mesin diesel yang optimal dibanding campuran lainnya.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, adalah: (1) Memberikan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan merangkai komponen elektronik roboboat; (2) Menyiapkan pemuda peserta pelatihan agar dapat membuka lapangan kerja baru (berwirausaha) di bidang pembuatan dan merangkai komponen elektronik kapal roboboat.Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan metode pelatihan pemula dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan pelatihan. Hasil pada kegiatan ini adalah: (1) Pelatihan terhadap remaja dengan memberikan secara teori dan praktik tentang merangkai komponen elektronik roboboat dapat membuahkan hasil adanya pingkatan kemampuan merangkai komponen elektronik roboboat pada remaja Sekar-Gading tersebut; (2) Pelatihan merangkai komponen elektronik roboboat pada remaja mampu menumbuhkan keinginan untuk membuka lapangan kerja baru (berwirausaha) di bidang pembuatan dan merangkai komponen elektronik kapal roboboat. Peningkatan keterampilan diketahui langsung dari pengamatan langsung pada proses praktik dan evaluasi pre-test dan post-test.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, pendidikan mengalami berbagai inovasi dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Salah satu bentuk inovasi yang sedang berkembang adalah penggunaan robot STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. MGMP Matematika SMP kota Semarang sebagai sebuah wadah pembinaan profesionalisme guru berkelanjutan bagi guru-guru matematika SMP di kota Semarang memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung inovasi pembelajaran di sekolah. Inovasi pembelajaran matematika di sekolah berbantuan robot STEM perlu dikenalkan kepada guru-guru. Pelatihan penyusunan desain pembelajaran berbantuan robot STEM dilakukan terhadap 24 orang guru MGMP Matematika SMP di Semarang. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 45,83% peserta termotivasi untuk melakukan inovasi pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan STEM dengan bantuan robot edukasi, dengan 54,17% menyatakan setuju, dan 8,33 persen sangat setuju untuk menerapkan pembelajaran STEM dengan bantuan robot. Diharapkan anggaran akan dialokasikan untuk pengadaan robot yang diperlukan. Dengan mempersiapkan penggunaan robot yang matang, optimalisasi proses pembelajaran dapat dicapai. Ini akan memungkinkan siswa untuk benar-benar memanfaatkan peran robot dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Microalgae Spirulina sp which has been cultivated by the Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Center, Situbondo Indonesia were tested for their potential energy performance using proximate analyzer, SEM-EDX, and thermogravimetry. The proximate analyzer showed volatile matter (VM), fixed carbon (FC), moisture, ash content (AC), total sulfur of microalgae Spirulina sp 68.15, 12.57, 11.22, 8.06, and 0.67 (wt%, ar), respectively, and the gross calorific value (GCV) is 4971 kcal/kg (dry basis). SEM-EDX test showed the morphology and chemical content of Spirulina sp. The content of microalgae Spirulina sp is dominated by carbon (C) and oxygen (O), then followed by chlorine (Cl), sodium (Na), potassium (K), sulfur (S), magnesium (Mg), and phosphorus (P). Thermogravimetry pyrolysis test of microalgae Spirulina sp resulted thermogravimetry (TG) analysis and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) analysis curve, which is divided into three different steps. The moisture of microalga Spirulina sp was vaporized at the first step, started at 27°C, and finished at 173°C with a decomposed mass of about 13.81% of the total initial mass. The second step began at the end of vaporize moisture at about 173°C and ended at around 618 °C. The gasification process occurred in volatile matter content and resulted mass loss of about 57.9% of Spirulina sp total mass. The last step showed the process of gasification of residual substances, started at the end of the volatile matter step, 618°C, and stopped at 995°C with a decomposed mass of 24.6% from total mass.

Abstract

The quality of management in the practical workshop area determines the quality of practical activities in it. Teachers need to prepare a good workshop implementation process by paying attention to everything, starting from the effectiveness of implementation to achieving implementation that provides good habits for students in it. In this case, the thing that is being considered is the implementation of the 5S/5R culture.This research uses Research and Development using the ADDIE development model. The assessment of the suitability of the media being developed is carried out by a judgment expert. The product trial was carried out at SMK Negeri 2 Salatiga with 36 students in the experimental class. Data collection from experts uses material and media validation instruments for product suitability, while data collection on application to students uses teacher assessment through observation instruments and checklist data by researchers to test product effectiveness.The results of this research show (1) that the product developed is a module for management of tools and materials for Vocational High School concrete workshops; (2) The product is declared valid and reliable using the Aiken v test and expert percentage. (3) the module was developed practically based on responses from Experts/Validators consisting of lecturers and teachers practicing Construction and Housing Engineering (4) effectiveness testing using the N Gain test showed that the data for the experimental and control classes had increased with a percentage of 47.59%.

Abstract

The development of technology in education helped to increase learning quality. Existing developments required the world of education to adapt. Students' characterization in the XXI century was a generation that was closed to digitalization, so the teacher had to understand that learning media at school must carry out advanced technology. Specifically, the research purpose was: to develop media with adobe flash, to dig up the feasibility of learning media in the competency of an anti-lock brake system, and to know the improvement of learning outcomes in an anti-lock brake system. This research applied the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data analysis consisted of determining the feasibility of learning media and deciding the media effectiveness. The feasibility test showed that the media was very feasible. The developed media was tested by N-Gain and got the effectivity until 76%, or it can be declared effective since t-count 18.13t-table, and Ha was accepted while H0 was refused. It can be concluded that adobe flash media with android-based can improve students' learning outcomes, especially in the Anti-Lock Brake Sistem at XII TKRO 1.

Abstract

Steam boilers fueled by biodiesel and coal are one of the industrial activities that still produce exhaust emissions such as Total Particulate (PM), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Opacity, Nitrogen Oxide (NOx), and Carbon Monoxide (CO) which is very dangerous for public health and the environment. Therefore, analysis of flue gas emissions in steam boiler installations equipped with filtration devices (cyclones, water scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators) before being discharged into the environment is of important. Exhaust gas emission was measured by using a gas analyzer, smoke tester, and portable quality air monitor. The results of exhaust gas emission analysis showed that the average concentration of PM, SO2, and CO did not meet the specified emission quality standard thresholds, exempted for opacity concentration for both steam boilers fueled with biodiesel and coal. It is suspected that this is caused by the sub optimal performance of the filtration equipment used in this system. Therefore, regular maintenance is required, and if necessary, a redesign of the entire system can be carried out.

Abstract

Penerapan proses pewarnaan berbantuan ultrasonik dilakukan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi batik pewarna alami di antara 20 produsen batik dari Galeri Sentra Batik. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk mengurangi waktu produksi, meningkatkan kualitas pewarna, dan meminimalkan konsumsi sumber daya dalam produksi batik, sekaligus mempromosikan keberlanjutan dan pengembangan kapasitas dalam masyarakat. Pelatihan teori dan aplikasi praktis digunakan untuk menilai dampak program terhadap efisiensi produksi, keberlanjutan lingkungan, dan pemberdayaan peserta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pewarnaan berbantuan ultrasonik secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan mengurangi waktu pewarnaan. Khususnya, kecerahan dan konsistensi warna batik ditingkatkan, sementara konsumsi air dan energi diturunkan secara signifikan, mendukung praktik produksi yang lebih berkelanjutan. Mitra program, khususnya Batik Salma, melaporkan peningkatan keterampilan teknis dan efisiensi, yang secara langsung berdampak pada produktivitas mereka. Analisis statistik menegaskan efektivitas program, dengan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan dan kepercayaan diri peserta dalam mengadopsi teknologi modern. Proses pewarnaan berbantuan ultrasonik terbukti menjadi inovasi yang berharga untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan produksi batik pewarna alami. Keberhasilan program ini menyoroti potensi penerapan teknologi ini secara lebih luas dalam industri batik, yang berkontribusi terhadap pelestarian lingkungan dan pemberdayaan ekonomi produsen.

Abstract

Smart farming memiliki potensi besar untuk mengatasi tantangan efisiensi pertanian dan memastikan ketahanan pangan. Konsep smart farming juga menawarkan solusi inovatif untuk mengubah teknik pertanian tradisional dan meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dengan melibatkan penggunaan teknologi terkini seperti Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, dan machine learning. Smart farming mempunyai potensi untuk menarik generasi muda ke bidang pertanian. Kegiatan pengabdian ini melibatkan Komunitas Petani Muda Klaten yang memiliki peran sentral dalam menciptakan inovasi baru di bidang pertanian. Program pengabdian ini fokus pada pendampingan bagi para petani muda untuk mengenal lebih jauh tentang teknologi-teknologi terkini yang dapat digunakan di bidang pertanian, dan penguatan literasi smart farming. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengindikasikan bahwa 52,08% petani setuju bahwa informasi berkenaan dengan smart farming yang disajikan para pengabdi komprehensif, mudah dipahami dan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang smart farming. Dari aspek literasi, 58,33% petani setuju bahwa program pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi efektif meningkatkan literasi smart farming mereka, selain itu pemahaman mereka tentang smart farming juga semakin bertambah. Sementara itu dari aspek pengembangan keterampilan diperoleh bahwa 47,92% petani setuju bahwa pelatihan tentang implementasi IoT yang diberikan tim pengabdi bermanfaat dan bersifat praktis, serta meningkatkan keterampilan teknis mereka dalam teknologi smart farming.
