Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between beginning reading ability and the learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN Panjo. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The subjects of this study were all 24 third-grade students of SDN Panjo. Data were collected through observation, beginning reading ability tests, and documentation of students’ learning outcomes. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis to describe students’ beginning reading abilities and learning outcomes, as well as inferential statistical analysis to examine the relationship between variables. The inferential analysis used the Spearman Rank correlation technique, as the data were not normally distributed and the sample size was relatively small. Hypothesis testing was conducted at a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) with a sample size of 24 students. The results of the inferential statistical analysis showed that the calculated correlation coefficient (r_calculated) was greater than the critical value (r_table), namely 0.490 > 0.404. This finding indicates that there is a significant relationship between beginning reading ability (variable X) and students’ learning outcomes (variable Y) of third-grade students at SDN Panjo.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning activities and learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in IPAS learning. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were fourth-grade students of SD Inpres 1 Tanamodindi. Data were collected through observation sheets to measure students’ learning activities and learning outcome tests to assess students’ achievement. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative techniques by comparing the results of each cycle. The results showed that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model improved students’ learning activities and learning outcomes in IPAS learning. These findings indicate that the PBL model is effective in enhancing the quality of learning in elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) focusing on the Mutual Cooperation Dimension using the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach. The P5 Project, with the Mutual Cooperation Dimension applied through an Entrepreneurship theme integrated with the STEAM approach, utilized the ADDIE development model, which involved expert validation for Material and Media, Product Testing, and Practicality Testing by teachers and students. The research subjects were 10 fourth-grade students at Sekolah Alam Dongi-dongi. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The trial results indicated that the entrepreneurship project is valid and practical, and can enhance student engagement in learning. Furthermore, the project was effective in the teaching process with the help of volunteers, facilitating the understanding of complex materials, and ensuring that the learning not only provides immediate benefits but also promotes the sustainability of the school's ecosystem and its students. Therefore, this project is feasible for use in P5 learning at the elementary level, as it enriches students' learning experiences, increases creativity, fosters the spirit of mutual cooperation, and deepens their understanding of entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Talking Stick cooperative learning model on students' learning outcomes in science subjects at SDN Tindaki. The background of this research is the relatively low learning outcomes of students in science subjects. Therefore, an appropriate learning model is needed to improve students' understanding and participation during the learning process. This research employed a quantitative, pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest method. The study subjects were 16 fifth-grade students from SDN Tindaki. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, and analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, including a t-test after satisfying normality test requirements. The results showed that the average pretest score was 56.25, while the average posttest score increased to 81.56. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the calculated t-value (13.27) was greater than the t-table value (2.131) at the 0.05 significance level. This indicates that the cooperative learning model of the Talking Stick type significantly improves students' learning outcomes in science subjects for fifth-grade students at SDN Tindaki.
