Abstract

Krui Selatan Subdistrict has potential in the productivity of rice and other food crops such as corns and soybeans. However, the management of water resources available to meet water needs in agriculture has not been optimal. This study aims to determine the potential amount of water resources for food crops (rice and palawija), to obtain the optimal planting area based on the potential of available water resources and to determine the cropping pattern of food crops according to the potential of available water resources. The analysis of research carried out in this study includes land water balance, crop water needs, irrigation water needs, water resource potential and water resource adequacy. This study uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) equipped with a SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tools) model approach during the research process. Potential water resources available in Krui Selatan Subdistrict can be utilized for land development with rice and secondary crops. The intensity of rice planting is carried out 2 (two) times a year with a rice planting area that can be developed of 72,15 ha. Meanwhile, the development of palawija, which this study uses soybeans, can be carried out in planting season III with a rice field area that can be used for crops soybean 54,11 ha. Keywords:  Irrigation, Geographic Information System, Water Resources.

Abstract

Potatoes are root crops and are classified as short-lived plants. The growth is bushy and creeping and has a rectangular stem. One effort to maintain the quality and shelf life of fruit is to process it into dry food (fruit chips). The way to produce healthy food without changing its original shape is to use Vacuum Frying technology. The purpose of this study was to produce the best quality potato chips at temperatures of 800C, 850C and 900C and the thickness of the sliced fruit was 1mm, 2mm and 3mm and to find out the temperature and thickness of the sliced fruit needed to produce chips with good quality. best. This study used a factorial complete randomized design using two factors. Each repetition was carried out 3 times, so that 27 experimental units were obtained. The parameters observed in this study were the analysis of material shrinkage, moisture content, frying time and organoleptic tests. The best potato chip frying to use in a vacuum frying machine is at a temperature of 900C and a thickness of 1mm fruit slices with a frying time of 26 minutes.Keywords: potatoes, chips, vacuum frying

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of water resources in the Way Ngison Kiri irrigation area which has an area of 44.47 ha of rice fields for irrigation water needs for rice and peanut crops so that the optimal planting area is obtained with the right cropping pattern and distribution of irrigation water. The data used in the analysis of water resource potential for watersheds (DAS) for irrigation water needs include irrigation water needs for rice and groundnut crops, mainstay discharge, crop water requirements or consumptive use, and land water balance from the results of the SWAT simulation (Soil and Water Assessment Tool). The use of ArcGIS SWAT analysis as a geographic information system that makes it easier to manage and perform data analysis. Based on the results of the analysis that the maximum value of irrigation water requirements in the first planting season (MT I) was 1.03 m3/s occurred on the last 15 days of January, in the second planting season (MT II) 1.1 m3/s occurred on 15 the last day of May, while the third planting period (MT III) was 1.08 m3/sec which occurred on the 15th day of early June. Overall, in the first to third planting season, the mainstay discharge value is fulfilled, because the mainstay discharge value is greater than the value of water demand. Based on the adequacy of irrigation water, the optimal planting area for rice and secondary crops is 11 ha and the recommended method of irrigation water distribution is by group method. Keywords: Irrigation water needs, Mainstay discharge, SWAT, Watershed

Abstract

This research was conducted to observe the effect of edible coating aloe verawith a combination of carrageenan concentration on the shelf life of crystal guava fruit. This study was designed using linear regression consisting of 2 factors. The first factor consists of 3 levels of carrageenan concentration which includes K1 = 0.1% , K2 = 0.2% , K3 = 0.3% . The second factor is the variation of storage temperature which consists of 2 levels, namely storage at room temperature 27℃ and cold temperature 11℃. The application of edible coating of crystal guava fruit with a layer of aloe vera gel and carrageenan has an effect on maintaining the quality of crystal guava fruit against weight loss, green skin color, hardness, total dissolved solids, water content and organoleptic test of storage taste (room temperature) of crystal guava fruit to age. keep 6 days and storage (low temperature) crystal guava fruit up to a shelf life of 9 days after application. Abstract

The high amount of food crop production in East Lampung Regency produces abundant biomass. This biomass can be used as silage for animal feed. A grass chopper is needed to make silage. The aim of the research was to test the performance of the TMB 01 type grass chopper on corn stalks and elephant grass with engine rotation speeds of 800, 1000 and 1200 rpm. This research was carried out in June - November 2023, at the Self-Help Agricultural and Rural Training Center (P4S) Tani's Market Balerejo, East Lampung Regency. This research was carried out with observation parameters measuring chopping time, measuring machine rotation speed, measuring fuel consumption, measuring the diversity of biomass mass that had been chopped. The research results show that rotational speed (rpm) influences work capacity, working time, fuel consumption and chopping diversity. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic feasibility of renting transplanters at Brigade Alat Mesin Pertanian Tegineneng. The research was conducted from February to July 2023 at Brigade Alat Mesin Pertanian Tegineneng District, Pesawaran Regency. Feasibility- parameters used include Break-Even Point (BEP), Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). Sensitivity analysis was performed to determine the impact of changes in working days on feasibility values.The study results indicate that renting transplanters at Brigade Alat Mesin Pertanian in Tegineneng has a BEP value of 27.96 hectares per year. Based on an NPV of IDR 9,175,366 per year, a B/C Ratio of 1.02, an IRR of 20.79%, and a Payback Period of 4.84 years, the rental of transplanters at Brigade Alat Mesin Pertanian in Tegineneng is economically feasible. Sensitivity analysis of transplanter use shows significant changes with each change in working days. For 40 working days, the BEP is 27.96 hectares per year, NPV is IDR 49,559,304 per year, B/C Ratio is 1.13, IRR is 29.99%, and Payback Period is 3.98 years. For 50 working days, the BEP remains at 27.96 hectares per year, NPV is IDR 89,943,241 per year, B/C Ratio is 1.20, IRR is 34.31%, and Payback Period is 3.59 years. For 60 working days, the BEP is still 27.96 hectares per year, NPV is IDR 130,327,179 per year, B/C Ratio is 1.26, IRR is 36.81%, and Payback Period is 3.37 years. Keywords:  BEP, B/C Ratio, IRR, NPV, Payback Period, Rice Transplanter.

Abstract

Fruit chips are healthy snacks because of their high fiber content. Processing of Muli banana chips with vacuum frying is an appropriate method to increase the shelf life of bananas by processing them into fruit chips. Utilization of Muli bananas with the semprong model as a processed product for chips is an effort to increase the diversification of Muli banana products and effort the selling value of the Muli banana products themselves. Vacuum frying is a frying process that can maintain nutritional value. The research method used experimental design in the form of a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Experimental factors in this study used two temperature factors (T), namely temperature 80°C, 85°C, 90°C, and pressure (P) during the frying process namely -68 cmHg, -70 cmHg and -72 cmHg, with 3 repetition. The parameters observed in this study were of material shrinkage (yield), moisture content, organoleptic test, and storage (estimation of material shelf life). The conclusion the quality of the Semprong model Muli banana chips with a temperature of 85°C and a frying pressure of -72 cmHg in this study produced good quality Muli banana chips. Muli banana chips of the semprong model with a temperature of 85°C and a frying pressure of -72 cmHg in this study had a material yield value of 30.3%, a moisture content of 3.94% and a crispness test score of 4.67 (crunchy), aroma of 3.93 (rather strong banana aroma), color 3.87 (brownish yellow), taste 4.73 (sweet). Keywords : Chips, Muli Banana, Vacuum Frying.

Abstract

Pesisir Barat Regency has large land potential in agriculture sector, especially for rice cultivation, including in the administrative area of Lemong District. To increase the productivity of paddy fields at Lemong District, it is necessary to analyze the irrigation water needs. Therefore, research was carried out on the analysis of rice irrigation water needs and the river water discharge needed for irrigation.  The research was carried out in analysis stages including analysis of water balance using SWAT models which is integrated in the geographic information system, analysis of plant water needs, analysis of water irrigation needs, minimum discharge needed for land irrigation and analysis of water resource adequacy.  The research result show that the potential water resource in Lemong District can meet the irrigation water needs of rice cultivation in two planting seasons with coverrage area that can be developed of 76.42 hectares. Meanwhile, in the third planting season for planting of secondary crops, the potential of river discharge is only sufficient for 19 hectares and in order for the target planting area of 76.42 hectares to be archieved it is necessery to add irrigation originating from ground water (pump irrigation) with discharge of 0.51 m3/sec. Keywords: Geographic information system, Irrigation, SWAT.

Abstract

The purpose of this research were to determine the amount of potential water resource for food crops (rice and secondary crops), determine the optimal planting area of food crops (rice and secondary crops) according to the potential of available water resource and determine the cropping pattern of food crops (rice and secondary crops) in accordance with potential available water resource. The research was carried out with the stages of land water balance analysis technique using the SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment and Tools) model, analysis of irrigation water needs, analysis of reliable discharge, and analysis of the adequacy of needs for potential available water resource. The result showed that the potential of river water resource in Ngaras District can meet the water needs of rice crops in the first and second planting seasons starting from the beginning of November to the end of June each covering an area of 108,38 ha and the third planting seasons for soybean crops starting from the beginning of July to the end of December covering an area of 43,352 ha. In order to achieve the target of available raw land of 216,7 ha, it is recommended to apply the irrigation arrangement pattern in groups and the construction of weir infrastructure.  Keywords: Irrigation regulation patterns, Irrigation water needs, Water resource potential.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the potential of sand as a planting medium with the addition of cocopeat, obtain the dose of liquid organic fertilizer for sand media, and find the suitable combination of cocopeat for sand media. The method used is a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial with 2 factors. The first factor is the combination of planting media (sand and cocopeat) and the second factor is the dose of liquid organic fertilizer. The first factor consists of 3 levels: M1 (sand and cocopeat), M2 (sand and cocopeat mixed), and M3 (cocopeat and sand). Each planting medium has a height of 11 cm. The second factor has 3 levels: P1 (LOF 10 ml/l), P2 (LOF 20 ml/l), and P3 (LOF 30 ml/l). The initial stages carried out in this research include preparing the planting media, seed sowing (for approximately ±16 days), transplanting, and maintenance (watering and fertilization). Observations include monitoring every 3 days (plant height, number of leaves, and leaf width) and final observations (total weight of fresh mustard plants, weight of upper and lower mustard plant parts). The planting media (sand, cocopeat) influenced all parameters. The optimum dose of liquid organic fertilizer is a dose of 30 ml/liter. The most optimal interaction of planting media factors with the dose of liquid organic fertilizer is sand media, cocopeat, and a dose of 30 ml (M1P3) with an average total fresh weight of 4.14 grams. Keywords: Cocopeat, LOF, Planting media, Sand.
