Abstract

The impact of drought can affect various aspects of life. One that is threatened by the effects of drought is agricultural land and rice fields, which are threatened with failure due to reduced water supply. South Lampung Regency is one of the largest rice producing districts in Lampung Province, with rice fields covering an area of 38,688 ha, South Lampung Regency is capable of producing 321,822 tons of rice. While Candipuro District is the largest producing district in South Lampung Regency with a total rice production of 55,192 tons of rice. From the magnitude of the potential Candipuro District has drought constraints in utilizing the potential of paddy fields optimally. One of the efforts that can be done to anticipate drought is by mapping the rice fields in Candipuro district which is prone to drought. One of the technologies that can be used in mapping is application-shaped technology called GIS (Geographic Information System) Application. The purpose of research on the level of drought based on Geographic Information System in Candipuro District is (1) to obtain a map of the distribution of drought-prone rice fields in Candipuro District, (2) to determine the level of drought-prone rice fields in Candipuro District, (3) to analyze the dominant factors that affect the level of drought-prone rice fields in Candipuro District. The method used in this study is the method of overlap (overlay) and scoring (scoring) with GIS analysts. Overlay and scoring methods were performed on 5 drought parameters, namely rice field irrigation, slope slope, soil texture, soil solum and rainfall. The results of research on rice field drought in Candipuro district obtained two levels of drought prone, namely, medium and high. Paddy land with a classification of medium vulnerability level has an area of 4,050.43 or comparable to 61.8% of the total area of paddy land in Candipuro district, while the classification of high vulnerability level has an area of 2,503. 3 ha or comparable to 38.2% of the total area of paddy land in Candipuro District. Keywords: Drought, Paddy Field, Candipuro District, Geographic Information System

Abstract

This study aims to generate a landslide susceptibility map for Balik Bukit District using geospatial data and analyze the vegetation density from Sentinel 2-A and Landsat 8 OLI imagery to support the identification of landslide-prone areas. The study used SHP data for various parameters including Rainfall, Slope, Geology, Land Cover, Soil Type, and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). The final results consist of thematic maps and a landslide susceptibility map, illustrating the area's risk levels. GIS played a crucial role in mapping, calculations, and analysis. Five landslide susceptibility classes were derived from both Sentinel and Landsat imagery. Sentinel 2-A indicated 1991 Ha as not prone, 6905 Ha as low, 6174 Ha as moderate, 2468 Ha as high, and 710 Ha as very high. Landsat 8 OLI classified 1612 Ha as not prone, 6231 Ha as low, 6899 Ha as moderate, 2565 Ha as high, and 941 Ha as very high. Both imagery types identified Desa Kubu Perahu as very high risk but with different areas: Sentinel 2-A at 169 Ha and Landsat 8 OLI at 215 Ha. Vegetation density significantly influences landslide susceptibility, with Sentinel providing more detailed data, indicating 61 Ha as very sparse compared to 39 Ha by Landsat. Rainfall and Slope are the most dominant factors affecting landslide risk, followed by Geology, Soil Type, Land Cover, and Vegetation Density. Keywords:  GIS, Landslide, Lansat 8 OLI, Sentinel,  NDVI

Abstract

A severe energy crisis the Indonesians whose notes had once been members of OPEC or petroleum exporters are particularly tricky.  Coal production Indonesia in 2017 totaled 461 million tons were given priority to the mouth of mine.  With production at a figure of millions of tons of coal, it could be an alternative fuel choice that replaced oil that began to shrink production.  Coupled with a natural adhesive use of the cassava sewage system, it can serve as an alternative energy source called a biocoal briquette. The aim of the study is to see how the composition and the size of the cassava steam and coal particles in the quality of a biocoal briquette.  The research uses complete randomizwd design (CRD) arranged vectorally by three replications.  The first factor is material composition (b) (50%BB:50%BS, 40%BB:60%BS, and 30%BB:70%BS).  The second factor is the scuttle (m) (10mesh, 20mesh, and 30mesh).  Research shows that sewage from the cassava stem is worthy of being used for the manufacture of a biocoal briquette fuel. Producing the following characteristics : water content ranges between5.26-6.77% already meeting the quality standards (SNI 4931/2010) by 17%, the density of the population between 0.37-0.41g/cm³, the rate of arson between 0.35-0.38gr/minute, the kalor rate of between 4.548-5.064cal/g that already meets the kalor class A value standard of 5000-6000 cal/g and class B 4000-5000cal/g. Keywords: Biocoal Briquette, Coal, Cassava.

Abstract

As an effort by the Indonesian government to meet domestic rice production, in 2016 the government through BBWS Mesuji Sekampung planned the development of new rice fields covering an area of more than 17,000 ha in Central Lampung Regency. The development of new rice fields must be supported by the availability of water by building the Way Sekampung Dam, but until the dam is inaugurated in 2021, the development of new rice fields has not been implemented. This study aims to analyze vegetation density and land use at the location of the new rice field development plan. This study uses a quantitative approach with a spatial analysis method. The analysis uses NDVI methods and guided classification to create land use classifications, using Sentinel 2 satellite imagery from 2017 to 2024. Based on the results of the NDVI analysis, it can be explained that there was a considerable change in vegetation in October 2023, due to a rainfall anomaly with a category below normal. Meanwhile, changes in land cover from 2017 to 2023 occurred quite large in the classification class of paddy/field and other vegetation. The increase in paddy field/field land cover from 89.00% to 92.88% was due to the reduction of other vegetation cover such as large vegetation/rubber tree fields (10.37% to 6.21%). Meanwhile, the increase in built-up land is still in the low category of 42 ha.
