Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan informasi di abad 21 membuat banyak perubahan dan tantangan di kalangan masyarakat tidak terkecuali mahasiswa yang merupakan salah satu agen perubahan. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa yang ditinjau dari segi lama studi, jenis kelamin dan status pekerjaan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan teknologi berada dalam kategori baik dengan capaian persentase sebesar 81%. kemampuan mahasiswa dalam berkomunikasi secara online, kemampuan berpikir kritis serta etika dalam menggunakan teknologi berada pada kategori cukup dengan capaian persentase berturut-turut sebesar 76,6%, 75,6% dan 70%. Dari hasil penelitian juga dapat diketahui bahwa perbandingan kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa dengan lama studi 2 semester lebih besar yaitu senilai 77,8% dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang lama studinya 4 semester yaitu senilai 76,6%. Nilai kemampuan literasi digital pada laki-laki sebesar 78% lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai literasi digital pada perempuan yaitu sebesar 76,8%. Perbandingan mahasiswa yang sudah bekerja memiliki nilai kemampuan literasi yang lebih rendah dengan persentase capaian 76,8% dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang belum bekerja dengan persentase capaian 77,4%..

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang keadaan pendidikan di Gading Sari Kabupaten Karimun Kepulauan Riau. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Kundur. Sumber data dalam penelitian ada dua yaitu sumber primer dan sumber skunder. Setelah data terkumpul lalu dianalisis dengan teknik mengkaji dokumen, wawancara, diskusi dan observasi menggunakan teknik kualitatif dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesadaran masyarakat setempat akan pendidikan cukup tinggi akan tetapi terhalang dengan keadaan ekonomi yang tidak mencukupi. Walaupun begitu rata-rata masyarakat Gading Sari ialah tamatan SMA yang merupakan program pemerintah Wajib Belajar 12 Tahun. Di Kecamatan Gading Sari hanya terdapat dua sekolah yaitu Sekolah Dasar Negeri 005 Kundur dan satunya lagi tingkat menengah atas yaitu MAS Al-huda. Jadi jika mereka ingin melanjutkan ke tingkat SMP harus mencari di luar Kecamatan Gading Sari. Upaya pemerintah untuk menangani pendidikan saat pandemi ini adalahengan memberikan vaksinasi kepada guru serta memberikan semangat kepada murid dan harus fokus sekolah walaupun tidak bertatap muka langsung dengan guru-guru dan teman-teman. Faktor pendorong pendidikan di Gading Sari berasal dari keluarga, kepribadian diri, guru atau pendidik, dan pemerintah yang telah membantu. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya semangat peserta didik yang kurang karena kendala jaringan saat melakukan pembelajaran dan orangtua yang tidak bisa mendampingi karena harus bekerja. Sedangkan cara yang dapat diterapkan pemerintah untuk meratakan pendidikan di kota dan di desa adalah dengan membangun bangunan sekolah secara merata, membagikan buku-buku pelajaran dan peralatan sekolah secara gratis, serta memenuhi kebutuhan guru.

Abstract

Kemampuan Habits of Mind, Emotional Intelligence, dan penguasaan konsep dapat dilatih, dikembangkan, dan ditingkatkan melalui suatu model pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan Habits of Mind, Emotional Intelligence, dan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA melalui implementasi Problem Based Learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah weak experiment dengan desain penelitian one-group pretestposttest yang dilakukan di kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Rengat Riau. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket Habits of Mind awal dan akhir, angket Emotional Intelligence awal dan akhir, soal pretest dan posttest materi sistem ekskresi dan sistem saraf. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan nilai normalisasi gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan Habits of Mind siswa setelah implementasi Problem Based Learning mengalami peningkatan dengan N-gain sebesar 0,53 berada dalam kategori sedang. Sejalan dengan itu, kemampuan Emotional Intelligence siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan N-gain sebesar 0,33 berada dalam kategori sedang. Kemampuan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi mengalami peningkatan dengan N-gain sebesar 0,66 berada dalam kategori sedang, sedangkan pada materi sistem saraf mengalami peningkatan dengan N-gain sebesar 0,84 berada dalam kategori tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan Habits of Mind, Emotional Intelligence, dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Peningkatan kemampuan Habits of Mind, Emotional Intelligence, dan penguasaan konsep siswa di atas nilai standar 0,31 (N-gain sedang).

Abstract

The teacher is one of the determinants of success in the learning process and the formation of the soft skills and hard skills of the students. If a teacher has the ability to think creatively and make decisions with a focus on improving higher-order thinking and is consistent over time, it is likely to be successful in training students' creative thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the level of creative thinking skills of Biology teachers at SMA Negeri Pekanbaru City. The population in this study were all Biology teachers in Pekanbaru City Senior High School, amounting to 62 people. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires and interview guidelines, the questionnaire was compiled based on 4 indicators of creative thinking developed by Marzano. The questionnaire data was analyzed by calculating the percentage and then interpreted into several categories, while the results of the interviews were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that the level of creative thinking skills of Biology teachers in Pekanbaru City High School was 81.35%. The indicator of creative thinking ability, namely "developing new ways" is the indicator with the highest achievement, which is 83.1%. The indicator of creative thinking ability "setting personal standards" has the lowest achievement among other indicators, which is 78.7%. Teachers who have been teaching for more than 20 years achieved very good categories on the indicators of “maximizing skills and knowledge” and “setting and using personal standards”. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the level of creative thinking of Biology Teachers in Pekanbaru City Senior High School is in the good category

Abstract

Abstrak: Analisis situasi pada sekolah mitra yaitu SMAN 1 Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau menunjukkan para siswa masih berada pada kategori Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS). Masih banyak guru menggunakan instrumen evaluasi berupa soal yang hanya ada di buku paket dan tingkatan soal C1-C3. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun instrumen evaluasi berbasis HOTS. Mitra pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu SMAN 1 Tambang Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau, yang terdiri dari 34 orang guru. Kegiatan terdiri dari (1) Persiapan; (2) Pelaksanaan; dan (3) Evaluasi. Untuk mengukur ketercapaian tujuan kegiatan yang dilakukan digunakan instrumen soal pretest dan posttest. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh bahwa terjadi peningkatan nilai rerata pretest yang awalnya 40 meningkat menjadi 83. Seluruh peserta (100%) memperoleh peningkatan skor nilai pretest-posstest. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun soal berbasis HOTS.Abstract: Analysis of the situation at the partner school, SMAN 1 Tambang, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, showed that the students were still in the Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) category. There are still many teachers who use evaluation instruments in the form of questions that only exist in textbooks and level questions C1-C3. This service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers in preparing HOTS-based evaluation instruments. Partners in this service activity are SMAN 1 Tambang, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, which consists of 34 teachers. Activities consist of (1) Preparation; (2) Implementation; and (3) Evaluation. To measure the achievement of the objectives of the activities carried out, pretest and posttest questions were used. Based on the results obtained that there was an increase in the mean value of the pretest which was initially 40 increased to 83. All participants (100%) obtained an increase in the score of pretest-posttest scores. It can be concluded that training activities can improve the ability and skills of teachers in preparing HOTS-based questions.

Abstract

Abstrak : Keterampilan abad 21 siswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui pemberian instrumen evaluasi berbasis HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). Berdasarkan analisis situasi pada sekolah mitra masih banyak guru yang belum menggunakan instrumen evaluasi berbasis HOTS dikarenakan ketidakmampuan guru dalam menyusun soal tes berbasis HOTS serta belum berbasis teknologi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun soal evaluasi berbasis HOTS dengan menggunakan aplikasi Live Worksheet. Kegiatan terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu, (1) persiapan; (2) pelaksanaan; dan (3) evaluasi. Sekolah mitra yaitu SMA N 1 Benai Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Provinsi Riau dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 30 orang. Ukuran ketercapaian kegiatan berdasarkan peningkatan pretest dan posttest serta angket respons peserta. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh bahwa pengetahuan peserta pelatihan meningkat sebesar 48.9% dan guru sudah dapat memasukan soal kedalam aplikasi live worksheet. Berdasarkan hasil angket mendapat respons positif dari peserta pengabdian mencapai 95.8% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun soal evaluasi berbasis HOTS melalui aplikasi live worksheet.Abstract: One way to improve students' 21st century skills is through the provision of evaluation instruments based on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) abilities. Based on the situation analysis at SMA N 1 Benai, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province, many teachers have not used HOTS-based evaluation instruments due to the teacher's inability to prepare HOTS-based test questions and an evaluation system that is not yet technology-based. This service activity aims to improve the teacher's ability to compile HOTS-based evaluation questions using the Live Worksheet application. Service activities consist of 3 stages, namely, (1) preparation; (2) implementation; and (3) evaluation. The partners in this activity were SMA N 1 Benai, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province with 30 participants. The measure of the achievement of community service activities can be seen from the increased value of the pretest and posttest as well as the questionnaire responses of the community service participants. The results of the service activities obtained data that the knowledge of the training participants increased by 48.9% and the teacher was able to enter questions into the live worksheet application. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it received a positive response from the service participants reaching 95.8% in the very good category. It can be concluded that community service activities can improve teachers' abilities in compiling HOTS-based evaluation questions through the live worksheet application.

Abstract

Teachers play a role in planning, implementing, and evaluating the learning process. During online learning, teachers must be able to design online learning that is effective, efficient, innovative, and interesting. Based on interviews with teachers who are members of the Science MGMP SMP in Pekanbaru, information was obtained that the majority of teachers still have difficulty evaluating online learning. According to students carrying out evaluations through WhatsApp groups makes them less motivated. This service activity aims to improve teachers’ mastery of technology in using the Kahoot and Quizizz applications as an evaluation system during online learning and fostering creative and innovative attitudes. The method in community service activities is through training and technical guidance which is carried out through face-to-face and online mentoring. Participants were given a pretest and posttest questions to see the achievement of material content and were given assignments. It is known that the average pretest score of the trainees is 61.58, and the posttest value of the participants is 91.58. Seen an increase in the value of participants with N-Gain of 0.77, which indicates an increase in the value of participants in the high category. The quality of the outputs of the tasks collected by the participants was also very good. It can be concluded that the service participants have been able to create interactive quizzes based on Kahoot and Quizizz and are able to apply them in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning model through Blended Learning on students' creative thinking skills. This research was conducted in class XI SMAN Plus Riau Province in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The research parameter is students' creative thinking ability, with 4 indicators, that is fluent thinking ability, flexible thinking ability, original thinking ability and elaborating thinking ability. Data were collected using test questions. The results of the study in the control class obtained an average value of 63.75 (less creative category) and an N-gain value of 0.13 (less effective category). In the experimental class, the average value was 77.63 (creative category), with an N-gain value of 0.43 (effective category). Of the four indicators in the control class and the experimental class, the highest indicator is fluent thinking with values of 67.50 and 80.00 respectively, while the lowest indicator in the control and experimental classes is obtained in elaboration thinking, with values of 60.00 and 75.55 respectively. Problem Based Learning model through Blended Learning has a positive effect on the creative thinking skills of class XI students of SMAN Plus Riau Province on the material of the body's defense system

Abstract

Critical thinking is an ability that has a specific purpose for empowering thinking activities in science education and other disciplines. This study aims to determine student perceptions of applying the Research Based Learning in training student’s critical thinking skills. This research is quantitative descriptive. This type of research is used to analyze data by describe or describe the data that has been collected as it is. The population in this study were all students of biology education, Riau University, while the sample in this study were biology education students in semester 3 of class A who took Biology Learning Media courses. The sampling technique is through purposive sampling. The instrument used is a student response questionnaire and observation sheets that emphasizes the description of the achievement of critical thinking indicators according to Marzano and interview sheets. The questionnaire data were analyzed by calculating the percentage of student responses and the interview data were analyzed qualitatively. The result showed that students gave a positive response to the Research Based Learning in training students’ critical thinking skills by 94% and were in the very good category. The indicators of “open thinking” and “able to provide ideas” are critical thinking indicators that get responses reaching 100%. In line with the observation results that the indicator "able to provide ideas" obtained the highest percentage, namely 88% in the very good category. Each stage in the Research Based Learning in this study provides opportunities for students to develop their critical thinking skills. The results of this study can be used as a reference for developing research-based learning strategies in other subjects.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an intellectual process in making ideas and concepts logically and allows students to analyze their thinking in making choices and drawing appropriate conclusions. However, in fact, in the observations made by lecturers on students, it is still difficult to understand and complete the tasks given by the lecturers, students' critical thinking skills are still low. This study aims to improve critical thinking skills through the “student as researchers” strategy. This study uses quantitative analysis with a one group pretest posttest design. The sample in this study were Biology Education students in semester 3 (three) class A who took the Learning Media course. Data were obtained from critical thinking questionnaires and observation sheets. The data were analyzed through significance test and Gain Normalization. The research data shows that students' critical thinking abilities have increased by 0.70 in the high category after participating in learning with the "Student as Researcher" strategy. The indicator for compiling “able to express ideas/ideas” is an indicator that has the highest increase compared to other critical thinking indicators, which is 0.79 in the high category. It can be concluded that the “student as researchers” strategy can improve students' critical thinking skills
