Abstract

This study investigates the impact of implementing a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Blended Learning on enhancing students’ collaborative abilities. Conducted in class XI of SMA Negeri Plus Riau Province during the 2021/2022 academic year, the research utilized a control group design to compare the collaborative skills of students in an experimental class, which employed the PBL model, with those in a control class. The study assessed four key indicators of collaborative ability: working productively, valuing opinions, compromising, and sharing responsibility. The findings revealed that students in the experimental class showed significant improvements in all four indicators compared to the control class. Specifically, the experimental group demonstrated better time management, greater respect for diverse viewpoints, enhanced ability to find common ground, and a stronger sense of shared responsibility. These results suggest that the combination of PBL and Blended Learning fosters a more engaging and effective learning environment, promoting active participation, critical thinking, and teamwork. The study concludes that adopting such pedagogical approaches can enhance collaborative skills among students, making them better prepared for future challenges that require cooperation and problem-solving. This research provides valuable insights for educators seeking to implement innovative teaching strategies to improve educational outcomes and equip students with essential 21st-century skills.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v12i32024p117

Abstract

Using a quasi-experiment design with a nonequivalent control group design, this study looks at how quizizz learning materials affect students' cognitive learning outcomes. It focuses on MIPA XI class students at a chosen SMAN in Dumai City, Riau. Purposive sampling is a method of sampling that incorporates specific selection criteria. Class XI MIPA 2 was the experimental group in this study, and class XI MIPA 3 was the control group. The experimental and control groups were given 25 multiple-choice questions as part of the research instrument during the pretest and posttest phases. The average posttest score for the experimental class increased to 7.22, according to statistical analysis. Using the t-test for hypothesis testing, the post-test score had a significance value of 0.034, which is less than 0.05. Additionally, the control class received an average N-gain value of 46.39%, indicating that it is less effective than the experimental class, which received an average N-gain value of 56.22%, indicating that it is quite effective. Therefore, it can be said that quizizz learning materials improve students' cognitive learning results.

Abstract

Amid the evolving business environment, traditional performance management models have become less relevant, emphasizing the importance of adaptive performance. Adaptive performance is assumed to be influenced by humble leadership, though its impact may depend on employees' perceptions of the leader's motives. This study, using Self-Determination Theory, aims to examine the role of self-determination as a mediator in the relationship between humble leadership and adaptive performance. Data was collected through a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire from 185 private sector employees in Riau, analyzed using SEM PLS. The results show that humble leadership has a positive impact on adaptive performance, both directly and through self-determination as a mediator.
