Abstract

English is an international language that plays an important role in the current era of globalization.Therefore, English should be introduced and taught from an early age. This study aims to explore the implementation of the English Day program at SDN Kebun Bunga 5 and its impact on students’ foreign language skills and memory. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design.The primary data were collected through interviews with the principal and English teacher, as well as through field observations involving all students who participated indirectly in the data collection process. The results of the study show that the implementation of the English Day program has a positive impact on students’ English language skills and memory at SDN Kebun Bunga 5.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools requires the use of interactive media that can increase student engagement, motivation, and understanding of the material. However, learning at SDN Banua Anyar 10 is still dominated by conventional methods, resulting in students being less active, losing focus easily, and not fully understanding the material. This study aims to describe the use of Wordwall digital media in Indonesian language learning, specifically hyperbole material in third grade, and its impact on student motivation, focus, and understanding. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results showed that the use of Wordwall significantly increased student engagement, making the learning atmosphere more interactive and enjoyable. Students' understanding of the material also improved, as indicated by their ability to identify examples of hyperbole more accurately. In addition, Wordwall helped students maintain their focus on learning longer than conventional learning. Teachers also experienced an increase in their skills in using digital media, despite initial technical obstacles. Thus, Wordwall is effective as a medium for teaching Indonesian language in elementary schools and has the potential to be applied to other subjects and levels.

Abstract

This study explores the use of local wisdom in the teaching of Science and Social Studies (IPAS) as a strategy to cultivate environmental awareness among elementary school students. Local values—such as traditional conservation practices, community habits in maintaining nature, and culturally rooted environmental ethics—are integrated to help students understand ecological issues in a contextual and meaningful way. The approach is implemented through project-based learning, local environmental observation, and the exploration of cultural practices linked to IPAS topics. Findings indicate that incorporating local wisdom not only increases student engagement but also strengthens their ecological consciousness. Students become more active, responsible, and capable of applying environmentally friendly behavior in daily life. Therefore, integrating local wisdom into IPAS instruction serves as an effective method for developing students’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.

Abstract

Disiplin dan teladan guru adalah fondasi krusial dalam membentuk karakter siswa di sekolah dasar. Guru bukan sekadar penyampai materi, melainkan juga contoh perilaku yang membentuk pemahaman dan penerapan nilai kedisiplinan oleh siswa. Akan tetapi terdapat ketidakteraturan dalam kedatangan tepat waktu dan ketidakstabilan dalam menerapkan kebiasaan disiplin oleh guru. Kondisi ini secara langsung memengaruhi tingkah laku siswa, sehingga dibutuhkan inisiatif sekolah yang dapat mengatur teladan secara terstruktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapan Program SEPATU (Selalu Tepat Waktu) sebagai strategi meningkatkan kedisiplinan dan peran teladan guru di sekolah dasar. Latar belakangnya didasarkan pada pentingnya teladan guru sebagai fondasi utama pembentukan karakter disiplin siswa, serta inkonsistensi praktik disiplin di sekolah. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus eksploratori, data dikumpulkan via observasi, wawancara terstruktur, dan analisis dokumen, fokus pada implementasi program di SDN Surgi Mufti 1 Banjarmasin. Hasil menunjukkan program berjalan namun belum optimal. Guru mulai sadar akan disiplin, meski sebagian kurang konsisten dalam ketepatan waktu. Siswa respons positif lewat rutinitas pagi dan meniru guru, tapi keterlambatan masih terjadi, terutama Senin. Hambatan utama: inkonsistensi guru, kesiapan siswa, dan kendala teknis seperti gangguan alat absensi. Sekolah siapkan penguatan via evaluasi berkala, koordinasi lebih baik, dan perbaikan fasilitas. Penelitian menegaskan keberhasilan disiplin bergantung pada konsistensi teladan guru, dukungan sistem sekolah, dan keterlibatan keluarga. Temuan ini berkontribusi pada praktik pendidikan karakter dan arahkan penguatan kebijakan kedisiplinan berbasis budaya sekolah ke depan.

Abstract

This study aims to provide teachers with a deeper understanding of the factors thatinfluence the learning achievement of elementary school students, enabling them todesign more effective instructional strategies aligned with students’ needs. Thisresearch employs a literature review method by examining various sources discussing the roles of internal and external factors in determining students’academic performance. The internal factors analyzed include physical condition,psychological aspects, and cognitive abilities, while the external factors consist offamily environment, school environment, and community environment. The findingsindicate that learning achievement can be improved when teachers are able toidentify the causes of students’ learning difficulties through these two categories offactors and adjust their teaching approaches accordingly. Teachers are able tocreate more interactive and supportive learning experiences when they understandhow personal conditions and environmental influences shape students’ academicoutcomes. These results highlight the essential role of teachers in optimizinglearning achievement through the management of influential factors surrounding thelearning process.
