Abstract

A xanthone, 1,5-dihidroxy-3,6-dimethoxy-2,7-bis-(3-methylbutenyl)xanthone had been isolated from the stem bark of Garcinia bancana Miq.  The structure of this compound was elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data, especially using 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data.

Abstract

A triterpenoid saponin have been isolated from n-butanol fraction of the seeds of kolowe (Chydenanthus excelsus). The structure was determined as 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)-β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→3)- β - D-glucuronopyranosyloxy]- 22α -O-(2-methylbutiroyloxyolean-12-en-15α,16α,28-tri-hydroxy. Structure elucidation was accomplished by NMR (HMBC, HMQC/HSQC, ROE, ROESY, TOCSY) methods, ESIMS, and IR spectroscopic.

Abstract

Three new chemical constituents have been isolated from the stem bark of Alangium kurzii Craib. The structures were respectively determined to be 4-cyclohexene-1,2,3-triol 1, 3-β-stigmast-5-en-3-ol (β-sitosterol 2), and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-stigmast-5-ene (daucosterol 3). These compounds are preliminary isolated from this plant.

Abstract

This study is concerned with synthesizing ethylenediamine-folate (EDA-Folate), which will then be used as a precursor in synthesizing Gd-PEG-DOTA-Folate, a novel targeted-contrast agent for the diagnosis of cancer, employing the Magnetic Resonance Imaging method. This study aims to determine all the parameters affecting the synthesis of EDA-Folate using the Plackett Burman design. The synthesis method included activation of folic acid using dicyclohexylcarbodiimide and N-Hydroxysuccinimide to result in NHS-Folate, followed by conjugation of ethylenediamine with NHS-Folate to produce EDA-Folate. Analysis of the reaction product confirmed that the reaction product was EDA-Folate. From the resulted data, it can also be concluded that there were four significant parameters (out of the ten parameters studied) in the synthesis of EDA-Folate (with its value presented in the bracket), i.e., time inactivation of NHS-Folate (24 h), stirring rate inactivation of NHS-Folate (300 rpm), the mole of EDA (12 moles), and time of EDA-Folate (12 h). Moreover, the value or desirability of the experimental design was found to be 0.875 (which is < 1.0), meaning that the design will produce optimal conditions and thus the optimal yield of the reaction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak kulit batang daun Garcinia forbesii (Guttiferae). Uji aktivitas antioksiodan dari masing-masing ekstrak menggunakan metode pembentukan radikal DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil). Dari fraksi aktif antioksidan telah diisolasi senyawa stigmasterol dengan teknik kromatografi kolom. Identifikasi struktur dilakukan berdasarkan data UV, IR, 1H NMR dan 13C NMR. Ekstrak heksan, diklorometan dan metanol menunjukan persentase inhibisi berturut-turut pada 88%, 93% dan 86%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri komponen utama fraksi aktif kulit batang kandis gajah (Garcinia griffithii) terhadap Escherichia coli dan Shigella dysentriae. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram. Identifikasi terhadap senyawa hasil isolasi dilakukan  berdasarkan uji fotokimia, spektroskopi ultraviolet dan inframerah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraksi heksana merupakan fraksi teraktif, diikuti oleh fraksi diklorometana dan metanol. Fraksi F1 heksana merupakan komponen utama, berupa senyawa steroid. Komponen utama ini memiliki gugus hidroksi, hidrokarbon alifatik, ikatan rangkap terisolasi, rangka dasar siklopentana, isopropil, dan ikatan karbon-oksigen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak heksanaa, etil asetat, dan metanol dari daun kandis (Garcinia celebicat Linn), familia Gunttiferae. Uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode pembentukan radikal DPPH. Pemilihan senyawa yang diisolasi didasarkan pada aktivitas senyawa tersebut pada uji antioksidan. Dari pemeriksaan kandungan kimianya senyawa hasil isolasi termasuk golongan triterpenoid.

Abstract

Konstituen bioaktif terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli telah diisolasi dari ekstrak etil asetat kulit batang Garcinia cymosa. Identifikasi terhadap senyawa hasil isolasi dilakukan berdasarkan uji fitokimia dan penentuan struktur menggunakan metode spektroskopi UV dan IR.

Abstract

Kromatografi pertukaran ion telah digunakan secara luas dalam proses pemisahan dan pemurnian. Resin penukar ion komersial sebagai fasa diam pada umumnya berbasis polistiren. Pada penelitian ini dikaji pembuatan resin penukar kation dengan gugus sulfonat yang diikatkan pada selulosa dari serat batang pisang sebagai limbah pertanian. Pembuatan resin penukar kation diawali dengan proses isolasi selulosa dari serat batang pisang, kemudian proses fosforilasi menggunakan fosfor oksiklorida 16,67% dalam metilen klorida (1:5), dan karakterisasi resin selulosa fosfonat menggunakan spektrofotometer inframerah, XRF, uji kapasitas pertukaran ion dan efisiensinya terhadap ion-ion Gadolinium (III), Neodimium (III), Serium (IV), Samarium (III), Praseodimium (III) dan Yttrium (III). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemurnian selulosa dari proses isolasi adalah 90,70% dan proses fosforilasi optimum pada suhu 90oC selama 2,5 jam. Karakterisasi dari spektrum inframerah menunjukkan adanya puncak baru, yaitu pada serapan 1240 cm-1 yang merupakan daerah untuk regangan P-O-C dan diperkuat dengan meningkatnya intensitas pada serapan 1319 cm-1 yang menunjukkan regangan P=O. Massa jenis resin selulosa terfosforilasi adalah 1,68 g/mL dan kapasitas pertukaran kation 1,99 mek/g. Efisiensi pertukaran kation resin terhadap ion-ion Gadolinium (III), Neodimium (III), Serium (IV), Samarium (III), Praseodimium (III) dan Yttrium (III) berturut-turut adalah 108,8±0,17x10-3, 111,9±0,04x10-3, 98,1±0,02 x10-3, 96,4±0,79x10-3, 82,3±0,04x10-3 dan 92,4±0,04x10-3 mek/g. Abstract

There is often a drawback during the determination of Eu in aqueous solvents using the voltammetric method. The current signal from water can reduce that of the element, which causes difficulty while separating the Eu signal from other rare earth elements (REE). Therefore, this study used acetonitrile as a solvent due to its high electrical conductivity and wide potential range. The optimum conditions for the determination of Eu in acetonitrile using the Box-Behnken design include 74.56 seconds deposition time, 0.125 V amplitude modulation, and -2.0 V potential deposition. The platinum electrode's performance showed a recovery value of 98.91% and accuracy and precision (in %RSD) of 96.67% and 1.11%, respectively. Furthermore, detection and quantitation limits of 0.6 mg/L and 5.1 mg/L were recorded from the analysis. It concluded that the differential pulse voltammetry method was applied to determine the presence of Eu in acetonitrile.
