Abstract

Information and communication technologies can support learning of geometry through geogebra software. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of dynamic mathematics software geogebra towards problem solving and self-efficacy. Seventy-four university students divided to one class assigned as geogebra assisted learning and the other as using conventional learning. The results showed a significant difference of problem solving between these two groups statistically. Additionally, The results showed that there is a significant difference of self-efficacy between these two groups statistically. The results indicates that the problem solving and sef-efficacy of the university students using geogebra assisted better than using conventional learning. We can conclude that the dynamic mathematics software geogebra is effective to improve problem solving and self-efficacy

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate the quality of a multiple-choice instrument for measuring fifth-grade elementary students' understanding of kinetic-to-electrical energy conversion concepts within a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) framework. The research employed a Design and Development Research (DDR) approach with systematic instrument development procedures comprising: literature review and blueprint development, item construction, expert validation, field testing with 28 fifth-grade students, and comprehensive psychometric analysis. The instrument consists of 20 multiple-choice items covering three knowledge dimensions: conceptual (5 items), procedural (10 items), and applicative (5 items). Content validity was established through expert review by three science education specialists, yielding a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 0.87. Item analysis revealed difficulty indices ranging from 0.35 to 0.85 (predominantly moderate difficulty) and discrimination indices ranging from 0.30 to 0.75 (good to excellent discrimination). Reliability analysis using Cronbach's alpha produced a coefficient of 0.82, indicating high internal consistency suitable for elementary school assessment contexts. The instrument demonstrates satisfactory psychometric properties aligned with standards for elementary science assessment and effectively integrates STEAM pedagogical approaches.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA membutuhkan sumber belajar yang aplikatif tidak hanya sekedar teori tetapi perlu adanya pengaplikasian yang dapat dirasakan langsung oleh peserta didik dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Sumber belajar yang aplikatif dapat ditemukan melalui makanan tradisional picungan ikan, media yang tepat dan cepat menyampaikan kearifan lokal ini adalah menerapkan pembelajaran etnosains di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses pembuatan makanan tradisional picungan ikan ditinjau dari perspektif etnosains, menelaah keterampilan proses sains sebagai sumber pembelajaran IPA, menganalisis konsep IPA yang tersedia melalui makanan tradisional, menelaah makanan tradisional picungan ikan ketika diajarkan dalam pembelajaran IPA. Metode yang digunakan adalah deksriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan delapan konsep IPA fase D yaitu bioteknologi, klasifikasi makhluk hidup, zat aditif, perpindahan kalor secara konduksi, unsur senyawa, pesawat sederhana, gaya gesek, dan tekanan. Kemudian terdapat keterampilan proses sains dasar berupa mengkelompokkan, mengamati, mengukur, menyimpulkan dan mengkomunikasikan, dua keterampilan proses sains terintegrasi berupa bereksperimen serta menafsirkan data hasil eksperimen, dengan membuat LKPD bertemakan “Picungan ikan bandeng kesukaanku” peserta didik diarahkan untuk membuat percobaan fermentasi picungan ikan bandeng. Dengan adanya tulisan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber literatur bagi para guru untuk mengembangkan perangkat maupun sumber ajar di sekolah yang disesuaikan dengan konsep IPA yang terkandung dalam produksi picungan ikan.

Abstract

The rapid growth of bioinformatics has significantly influenced both the biological sciences and education, underscoring the importance of equipping future biology educators with relevant analytical and computational skills. This study aimed to compare the bioinformatics skills and biological knowledge of biology education students with and without experience in bioinformatics courses. A comparative descriptive design was employed, involving 49 students: 26 with no prior experience in bioinformatics and 23 with experience in bioinformatics. Data were collected using an instrument consisting of three opinion-based items and three cognitive test items. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically and visualized through diagrams, while cognitive performance was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The outcomes show that students who took the bioinformatics course demonstrated a broader use of tools, more reflective thinking about their own learning, and encountered more difficult problems, along with greater gain in scores on biology knowledge (70.29%) compared to students who did not take the course (63.63%). These findings support the need to include bioinformatics in the biology education program to better prepare pre-service biology teachers with the science and technology advancements in the future

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the feasibility and student responses to the Legenda Gunung Pinang comic media in an effort to improve the cultural literacy of phase B students at SDN Pasir Gadung. The study used the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model. Quantitative data came from the results of validation by cultural experts, media experts, and elementary education experts, as well as student response questionnaires. Qualitative data were obtained from notes, suggestions, and comments from validators and students. The research instruments included interview guidelines, observations, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed: 1) The media validated by cultural experts was very feasible with a percentage score of 97%; 2) The media validated by media experts was very feasible with a percentage score of 94.73%; 3) The media validated by elementary education experts was very feasible with a percentage score of 87.5%; 4) The response of students to the Legenda Gunung Pinang comic media was very good with a percentage score of 94%. Therefore, the Legenda Gunung Pinang comic media is very feasible to be used in the learning process to improve the cultural literacy of phase B students.

Abstract

The electrical topic is considered a material that is difficult to understand because electricity is a substance that is not seen but can be felt. The objectives of this study were 1.) to develop digital textbooks for basic electricity materials based on problem-based learning; 2.) to analyze the feasibility of digital textbook products for basic electricity materials based on problem-based learning. This research is development research using the 4D model, namely define, design, develop, disseminate. This study involved language, material, and media experts in validating research products. The research subjects were students of technical engineering vocational education in one of the public universities in Indonesia who took Basic Electrical and Electronics courses, namely 25 students. The data collection technique used interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the research results that have been done, it has resulted in several conclusions, namely; 1.) Development of digital textbooks on basic electricity materials based on problem-based learning is carried out by referring to the 4D model development steps, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate; 2.) The appropriateness of digital textbooks according to the media expert's assessment of getting a mean score of 3.61 is declared very good, the material expert's assessment is 3.52, which is declared very good, and the user response gets an assessment of 3.51, which is declared very good Theoretically developed digital textbooks are able to increase student interest and motivation to learn basic electrical materials in an easy way.

Abstract

Penelitian ini penting dilakukan karena diperlukan media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan inovatif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa serta mendukung pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran IPA sesuai dengan tuntutan pembelajaran abad ke-21.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan memvalidasi media pembelajaran Articulate Storyline berbasis Problem-Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Struktur Bumi dan Perkembangannya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang dibatasi sampai tahap Develop. Tahapan penelitian meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan media, pengembangan produk, validasi ahli, revisi produk, dan uji coba terbatas. Subjek uji coba terbatas adalah 76 siswa kelas VIII di salah satu MTs di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara guru, lembar validasi ahli, dan angket respons siswa. Hasil validasi dari tiga validator menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran memperoleh persentase sebesar 91,07% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Sementara itu, hasil angket respons siswa memperoleh persentase sebesar 83,35% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media Articulate Storyline berbasis PBL layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran karena dinilai menarik, mudah digunakan, dan membantu siswa memahami materi Struktur Bumi dan Perkembangannya. Selain itu, integrasi PBL dalam media memberi peluang kepada siswa untuk terlibat dalam aktivitas identifikasi masalah, analisis informasi, penyampaian pendapat, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran Articulate Storyline berbasis PBL dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran IPA yang interaktif dan berpotensi mendukung pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP.

Abstract

Peningkatan taraf hidup manusia dapat meningkat beriringan dengan peningkatan pendidikan dengan berbekal pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis merupakan Kompetensi kecakapan abad 21 yang penting untuk dipahami dan diintegrasikan dalam proses pembelajaran, termasuk dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA), yang masih tergolong rendah dimiliki peserta didik. Rendahnya kemampuan tersebut dapat menjadi penghalang peserta didik dalam memahami konsep Pembelajaran IPA dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah serta pengambilan keputusan menjadi masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran PjBL-STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII pada materi Struktur Bumi dan Perkembangannya. Metode Quasy Experiment dilaksanakan pada penelitian ini terhadap kelas VIII pada salah satu SMP N di kota Serang, Desain penelitian ini menggunakan 2 kelompok sejumlah 40 peserta didik pada setiap kelompok atau kelas yang ditetapkan secara acak yang kemudian dilakukan Pretest untuk mengekspolasi kodisi pengetahuan awal pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Kemudian diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda dimana Kelompok eksperimen akan menggunakan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) - Science, Technology, Engineering and Matematics (STEM), kelompok kontrol memakai model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Instrumen tes sebanyak 10 soal yang telah melalui uji Validasi dan Reliabilitas untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Pengujian Hipotesis pada Uji Independent Sample T-Test memperoleh hasil terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan untuk model pembelajaran PjBL-STEM dalam menstimulus kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII. Perolehan data hasil perhitungan dengan nilai Sig (2-tailed) yaitu 0,023 0.05. Disimpulkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang berarti terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran PjBL-STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, dimana model pembelajaran PjBL-STEM mampu meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam berpikir secara kritis.

Abstract

Indonesia and Japan are two countries that uphold high manners with education from an early age. Indonesia is a large developing countries from Sabang to Merauke, a country with Muslim majorities, and has many tribes and races. On the other side, Japan is one of the countries in Asia which is known for its technological and educational advancements. Japan is a developed country. The aim of this paper is compare the curriculum of the senior high school between Indonesia and Japan. Data collection techniques through internet from the official website of the Ministry of education and culture in Indonesia and Japan and various research reports, journals, and research papers. The data were analyzed critically by looking at the similarities and differences in the curriculum of the two countries and relating them to several influencing factors. There are three component to compare curriculum in senior high school, consist of the curriculum focus in senior high school level, the characteristics of curriculum, and structure curriculum in senior high school level.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create a greenhouse effect teaching tool in science learning on the themeof global warming to foster Science Process Skills (PPP) in students. The development model used is a 4-D development model which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Productvalidation was carried out by science education experts and practitioner experts who showed the level ofproduct validity with a value of 86.18% included in the "excellent" category. The implementation of the useof greenhouse effect props was carried out by grade VII students at one of the junior high schools in SerangCity. The data of the student response questionnaire showed that the teaching aids were able to grow PPPwith a score of 80.37% with the "very good" category. The results of this study prove that the use of teachingaids in science learning on the theme of global warming can help grow students' PPP through practicumactivities.
