Abstract

Learning methods that are less attractive to students can result in unsatisfactory student learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the use of mind mapping in addressing the learning outcomes of elementary school students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. This type of research is a case study in which data are obtained from interviews, observation, and documentation. Test the validity of the data in this study using triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique in this study uses an interactive model through data collection, data reduction, and conclusion. The mind mapping method in overcoming problems in learning outcomes is very effective. Because in the interviews, the children before the teacher applied the mind mapping method and after the teacher applied the mind mapping method were very visible. Children are more enthusiastic in the teaching and learning process. Before the teacher applies this method, the child experiences a saturation cycle, resulting in unsatisfactory student learning outcomes. Children's understanding of the material taught using the mind mapping method has increased behavior. The learning atmosphere for children is fun because the mind-mapping method frees children to learn while playing and drawing.

Abstract

The low character of students, one of which is the level of creativity possessed by students, has decreased after experiencing online learning due to Covid-19. The purpose of this study was to analyse the teacher's strategy in fostering student creativity through project learning to strengthen Pancasila students and to describe the constraints experienced by the teacher and the solutions made by the teacher in carrying out project learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological model. The subjects in this study were teachers and 4th-grade elementary school students. Researchers collect data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive model from Miles and Haberman. The results showed that teachers used two strategies in cultivating students' character and creativity: differentiation learning and project learning to strengthen the Pancasila student profile. Constraints found in addition to the low creativity of students are the limited references to the independent curriculum books for grades 1 and 4, the low availability of facilities, and project learning support tools. Another obstacle is time management because project-based learning usually takes a long time. For this reason, the teacher needs the right strategy to foster student creativity. It is hoped that the implications of this research can be studied in more depth to complement and be used as a basis for other research.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Read Aloud method assisted by the Let's Read digital application on students' reading comprehension skills in elementary school. Methodology: This study uses Pre-Experimental research with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research instruments used were in the form of pretest and posttest questions for reading comprehension. The data analysis technique uses normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and N-Gain test with the help of SPSS Windows Release 25.0 data processing. The subject of this study is the fourth grade students of SDN Wonokerso 3 with a total of 24 students. Results: The results of the study showed an N-Gain value of 0.6125 or 61.25%. This means that the effectiveness of the Read Aloud method assisted by the Let's Read digital application on students' reading comprehension skills is quite effective by being in the medium category. Applications/Originality/Value: This study integrates the Read Aloud method and the Let's Read digital application in students' reading comprehension skills in elementary school which have not been explored in depth in previous research, thus making a new contribution to educational literature. This research can pave the way for further research that explores the potential for collaboration between learning methods and digital technology in the context of primary education.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the use of edutainment methods in developing cooperative character among fifth grade elementary school students, and to explore how edutainment which combines educational and entertainment elements affects students' motivation and collaborative skills. Methodology: A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with teachers and students to gain insights into edutainment implementation and its influence on cooperation. Observations assessed student interactions during edutainment activities, and documentation supported the findings. Results: The study found that the edutainment method provided opportunities for fifth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 18 Surakarta to actively engage in the learning process. Its application was effective in shaping and enhancing students' cooperative character. Applications/Originality/Value: This study highlights the practical value of integrating edutainment into classroom instruction to foster not only engagement but also character development, especially cooperation. It contributes to the growing body of research on character education through interactive and enjoyable learning approaches.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to know the level of students' initial reading comprehen-sion before and after using spinning wheel learning media and to test the ef-fectiveness of reading spinning wheel media on initial reading ability. Methodology: The research method used is quantitative Pre-Experimental with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection instruments are pretest and post-test. The subject of this study is grade 1 of SDN 02 Pasekan Ambarawa, with a total of 37 students. Results: The research results show that the average difference between the pretest and the posttest was 14.46, meaning there was a significant increase in reading comprehension. The N-gain result of the percent of pretest and posttest data is 57.999%, which means that using the reading spinning wheel media is quite effective. The results of the T-test showed a significance result of 0.000 < 0.05, then H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. This refers to the use of reading spinning wheel media on the initial reading ability of grade 1 students of SDN 02 Pasekan Ambarawa has been tested to be effective. Applications/Originality/Value: The authenticity of this study is that there are pockets and letter cards to form a syllable, word, or sentence on the media. The pragmatic implication of this study is that innovative and interactive reading spinning wheel media can engage students and create a fun reading learning atmosphere in terms of initial reading skills.

Abstract

Purpose: This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model supported by flashcard media in improving science learning outcomes for class VA students at MI Muhammadiyah Gonilan. Methodology: Using A Pre-Experimental One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design, The Sample Included 29 Students. Data Collection Involved Tests (Pre-Test and Post-Test) and Interviews With The Class Teacher. The Data Were Analyzed Using Normality, Homogeneity, Paired Sample T-Test, and N-Gain Tests. Results: Results Indicate Moderate Effectiveness, With A T-Test Value Of 19.239 > 2.048 Showing Significant Differences Between Pre-Test and Post-Test Scores. The N-Gain Score Of 68.65% Falls In The Medium Category. Applications/Originality/Value: The Findings Suggest That the CIRC Model With Flashcard Media Moderately Improves Learning Outcomes and Highlights The Potential For Innovative, Easily Implemented Teaching Strategies To Enhance Classroom Learning.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to describe the skills of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Wonokarto in writing descriptive essays. Methodology: The research used a qualitative method, focusing on five aspects: (1) content or idea, (2) content organization, (3) grammar, (4) style: writing structure and vocabulary, and (5) spelling and punctuation. The data source was taken from 7 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Wonokarto. Results: The findings showed that the average student scores for each indicator were as follows: content/idea (21.7), content organization (15.8), grammar (14.7), style (11.9), and spelling/punctuation (10.9). Based on the assessment, 5 students (71.4%) were in the good category, and 2 students (28.6%) were in the fair category. Applications/Originality/Value: Students experienced obstacles such as difficulty in expressing ideas, constructing sentences, and applying correct spelling. To improve descriptive writing skills, creative and innovative teaching methods can be applied, including the use of supportive learning media, visits to the library, consistent writing practice, and the provision of structured writing guidelines and spelling exercises.

Abstract

This service aims to improve the understanding and skills of State Elementary School (SDN) 03 Makamhaji teachers in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) technology in the learning process. The program presented is implemented through education, training and workshops on using Lumio and Wordwall learning media. The approach covers various activities, including coordination, implementation of activities, data collection, reporting, monitoring and return visits. The methods used include lectures, tutorials, simulations, and question-and-answer sessions to ensure maximum effectiveness and interaction from participants. The evaluation shows that SDN 03 Makamhaji teachers are starting to use the Lumio and Wordwall applications, even though there are still technical obstacles and students' readiness to face digital learning. The use of these applications is not yet fully integrated into the learning process but provides variety and increases student involvement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi, faktor pendukung dan penghambat penyelenggaraan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris kelas Science Math English (SME) berbasis Multiple Intelligences di MIM PK Kartasura. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu kepala sekolah, guru bahasa Inggris, dan siswa kelas 1 SME. Teknik pengumpulan data diambil melalui teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu dengan pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan data. Validasi data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Implementasi pembelajaran bahasa inggris dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu a) tahap perencanaan, mengenali kecerdasan siswa melalui Multiple Intelligences Research (MIR) dan membuat lesson plan, b) tahap pelaksanaan, kegiatan pembelajaran dilakukan melalui kedelapan jenis kecerdasan yang dilaksanakan secara terintregasi dan bilingual dengan kegiatan yang bervariasi, kreatif, dan menyenangkan, c) tahap evaluasi, penilaian dilakukan dengan penilaian autentik mencangkup aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. (2) Faktor pendukung implementasi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di kelas SME berbasis Multiple Intelligences yaitu: a) pendidik yang berkualifikasi, b) siswa yang berkualitas, c) adanya dukungan dari beberapa pihak, d) tuntutan penguasaan bahasa Inggris di era masyarakat ekonomi ASEAN, e) bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa Internasional, sedangkan faktor penghambat yaitu desain pembelajaran masih belum terencana dan belum ada modul pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pendidikan segregatif atau sering dikenal sebagai sekolah khusus adalah lembaga pendidikan formal yang disediakan oleh pemerintah untuk anak-anak yang mengalami hambatan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan baik dari segi fisik, kognitif, sosial, maupun dari segi bahasa dan fisiologi, atau lebih dipahami oleh masyarakat umum sebagai sekolah yang sepenuhnya mengakomodasi anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus yang ingin mendapatkan pendidikan. Jumlah sekolah khusus yang terbatas dan peningkatan jumlah anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus di setiap wilayah mendorong pemerintah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus. Keberadaan sekolah inklusif menjadi angin segar bagi keluarga anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus. Di Distrik Kartasura, beberapa sekolah telah menerapkan kurikulum inklusif untuk anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus yang ingin belajar di sana. Tujuan layanan ini adalah memberikan bantuan kepada beberapa sekolah yang ingin menerapkan kurikulum inklusif yang mengarah pada kurikulum modifikasi di SD dan MI di kecamatan Kartasura. Tahap layanan dilakukan secara bertahap: Sosialisasi program, Pengiriman konsep dan implementasinya, lokakarya dengan model MERDEKA: M: dimulai dari diri sendiri, E: Eksplorasi konsep, R: ruang kolaborasi, D: demonstrasi kontekstual, E: elaborasi pemahaman, K: koneksi antar materi, A: tindakan nyata. Pada tahap Tindakan Nyata, peserta diharuskan membuat presentasi dan menyebarkan hasil kerja kelompok mereka dalam menyusun kurikulum adaptif/modifikasi.
