Abstract

Drug instances have increased in Solok Regency, with Kubung District seeing the largest increase in cases. Middle school students are a vital population because, during this formative period of personality formation, they experiment and seek validation from others, which makes more supervision necessary. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how psychoeducation about self-control can help junior high school pupils in Kubung District, Solok Regency, avoid drug misuse in 2023. With a one group pretest and posttest design and proportionate random sample of 110 respondents, This research uses the Quasi Experiment method. The analysis's findings indicated that 110 students' mean self-control scores increased from 42.51 to 48.28 after receiving psychoeducation, with a p-value of 0.025 (p-value <0.05) for the Wilcoxon test. These results show an increase in the average student pretest and post-test scores, indicating a significant influence of psychoeducation on increasing self-control in preventing drug abuse, which leads one to the conclusion that psychoeducation influences junior high school students' self-control in preventing drug abuse.

Abstract

Indonesia’s aging population presents an increasing demand for accessible, community-based health services. However, the utilization of Rumah Kasih, a community health program for older adults, remains suboptimal. Objective to examine the reinforcing factors influencing its utilization, including support from healthcare workers, university students, community health workers (CHWs), village heads, family members, and peers. A quantitative, cross-sectional study was conducted involving 192 elderly respondents with total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using chi-square tests and multivariate logistic regression. The bivariate analysis indicated that all support factors were significantly associated with service utilization (p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis identified healthcare worker support as the most influential predictor (OR = 48.346; p < 0.001), followed by student involvement (OR = 5.259; p = 0.005). Although family support was significant in the bivariate analysis, it was not retained in the multivariate model. CHW and peer support yielded high odds ratios but lacked statistical significance, possibly due to data variability or multicollinearity. These findings highlight the critical role of professional engagement and student participation in enhancing elderly involvement in community health programs. Strengthening these factors, along with targeted strategies to involve social actors, may improve the effectiveness and long-term sustainability of elderly care services.

Abstract

Background: Pain during labor can be caused by unmanaged anxiety, then causing tension in the lower uterine segment, cervix, and ischemia in the uterine muscles so the sensation and intensity of pain felt during labor is getting stronger. Hypnobirthing is one of the actions that can be done to reduce pain during labor. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of hypnobirthing in reducing the scale of pain in mothers giving birth. Methods: This type of research is a narrative literature review using PICO. Article searches are accessed through several databases, including Pubmed, Sciencedirect, Google Scholar, and Portal Garuda. then the articles are selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria and then analyzed. Based on 19 journal articles that have been analyzed, the implementation of the hypnobirthing method in mothers in labor has proven effective in reducing pain during the labor process. Conclusion: The benefits of hypnobirthing that directly affect the mother are that it can make the mother feel comfortable and relaxed during the labor process, and reduce the production of catecholamine and adrenaline hormones but increase the endorphin hormone in the mother, proven to be successful in reducing the scale of pain in mothers giving birth. However, there are several factors that affect the effectiveness of hypnobirthing, such as when hypnobirthing is done, how consistently the mother does hypnobirthing and also how focused the mother is on doing deep relaxation as one of the stages of hypnobirthing itself. Further research should be conducted on the combination of the hypnobirthing method with other pain management to determine the effectiveness of this management in reducing pain during the labor process.

Abstract

In addition to academic achievement, social-emotional competence has been increasingly considered a fundamental predictor of success in various aspects of life, particularly in adolescents. However, social-emotional competence among adolescents is currently in declining trend. The current research aimed to investigate psychological factors influencing early adolescents' social-emotional competence. This research employed quantitative methods. After filling in informed consent, 380 junior high school students aged 12 and 14 years in Padang city, Indonesia was recruited through the cluster sampling technique. All participants completed three validated questionnaires, such as the Social and Emotional Competency Questionnaire, Prosocial Tendencies Measure, and Peer Acceptance Scale. Structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis showed that prosocial behaviour and peer acceptance had a significant influence on social-emotional competence among early adolescents. Further analysis also revealed that peer acceptance partially mediated the relationships between prosocial behaviour and social-emotional competence. Overall, this research model contributed 39.6% to explain the relationship between the studied variables. Therefore, these findings suggest that encouraging prosocial behaviours and being acknowledged by peers are established as two essential factors in promoting social-emotional competence among early adolescents.

Abstract

The internet has become essential to people of all ages, particularly teenagers, to access information, education, and entertainment. Studying adolescents' well-being has become a hot topic lately, with digital technology and the internet as part of everyday life. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of gender in moderating the relationship between parental and peer relationships with adolescent well-being. Participants in this study were 749 internet user adolescents from various regions in Indonesia, who were selected using convenient sampling techniques. Data was collected online using the EPOCH measure for adolescent well-being, parent-adolescent relationship scales, and friendship quality scales. The results of the hierarchical linear modelling indicate that there is a positive correlation between parent and peer relationships, and adolescent well-being. The findings indicate that the relationship between the two variables is more pronounced among the male population than the female population.

Abstract

The prevalence of anemia in adolescents at the national level is still considered quite high. Several factors are associated with the incidence of anemia in female adolescents, namely energy intake, protein intake, iron intake, vitamin C intake, tea or coffee drinking habits, investment in worms, knowledge, education and type of parental occupation, family income, and menstrual patterns as well as genetics. Stunting is also still a problem in Indonesia due to insufficient nutritional intake for quite a long time. Stunting occurs when the fetus is still in the womb and only appears when the child is two years old. anemia caused by malnutrition at an early age increases infant and child mortality. anemia in young women and also stunting in children is very dangerous. Where the purpose of research is to explain Genetic Factors Causing the Prevalence of Anemia in Young Girls and Stunting in Toddlers. A review is conducted on the state-of-the-art methods using the preferred reporting items for reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. We review literature from several publications and analyze genetic factors that cause the prevalence of anemia in young women. The prevalence of anemia among young women is also caused by genetic factors. Young women tend to experience anemia because during this period they experience growth and development. The risk of anemia increases with physiological shifts such as menstrual periods. To prevent anemia, the government has planned a program for the Prevention and Control of Iron Nutrition Anemia in women of childbearing age which aims to reduce the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia in high school and junior high school students.
