Abstract

Introduction. Midwives must continue to carry out their duties in checking health of mothers and children and childbirth during COVID-19 pandemic, This condition makes them feel anxious. prevalence of anxiety for health workers during a pandemic is 44.7%. This study aims to analyze influence of factors that influence anxiety in midwives at Bungah Health Center during a covid-19 pandemic. Method. type of research is an analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. sample in this study were all midwives at Bungah Health Center as much as 32 respondents. variables in this study were age, education, knowledge, availability of PPE, and anxiety which were measured using Hamilton Anxiety Range Scale (HARS) questionnaire, and data were analyzed using binary logistic regression statistical tests. Result. results showed that 50% of midwives experienced anxiety. 68.75% of midwives are >35 years old. 84.37% of midwives have 3-years diploma, 59.37% of midwives have good knowledge, and 68.75% of midwives stated that PPE is complete. results of statistical tests showed that there was an influence between age and knowledge on anxiety of midwives with OR values 1.877 and 0.306, while education and availability of PPE did not have a significant effect on midwives anxiety. Conclusion. Age and knowledge have an effect on anxiety in midwives at Bungah Health Center, midwives with age> 35 years are at risk of experiencing anxiety by 1.87 times greater than with age <35 years, and midwives with good knowledge are at risk of experiencing anxiety by 0.3 times greater than with poor knowledge.

Abstract

Introduction: Go-Jek Drivers have experienced a change in condition due to the declining number of Go-Jek users during the pandemic. One of the impacts is work stress. This research aims to determine the relationship between individual characteristics and the work stress of Go-Jek drivers during the pandemic. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional design and the total population sampling technique where the population was all members of the Go-Jek motorbike driver community in Semolowaru Surabaya, totaling 65 people. Age, marital status, total dependents, and working period were the independent variables. Work stress was the dependent variable. The retrieval of data was done using a questionnaire based on the Minister of Manpower Regulation No.5 of 2018 to measure work stress. To determine the relationship between age and working period with work stress, this study used the Pearson test. The relationship between total dependents and work stress was determined using Fisher's exact test. The relationship between marital status and work stress used the contingency coefficient method. Results: In total, 39 drivers (60%) experienced moderate work stress and 26 drivers (40%) experienced heavy work stress. The relationship of age with work stress was very weak (0.040), the relationship between marital status and work stress was very weak (0.013), the relationship between total dependents and work stress was very weak (0.131), and the relationship between working period and work stress was weak (0.234). Conclusion: The relationships between age, marital status, and the total dependents with work stress are very weak, and working period and work stress also have a weak relationship.

Abstract

Introduction: Surabaya Health Facility Security Center employees experienced anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic. Anxiety is closely related to Work-Family Balance. The balance of roles between work and family is inseparable from family support. This study intended to analyze the relationship between family support and work-family balance. Method: This study used quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of employees at BPFK Surabaya. The sample included 74 pre-selected employees via simple random sampling. The variables in this study were family support (support from family members and family support for work) and Work-Family Balance (family work conflict (FWC), work family conflict (WFC), work family facilitation (WFF), and family work facilitation (FWF)). The data processing was performed using the Smart Partial Least Square test. Result: The study results indicate that there is a high value for family support of 62 (83.8%) and a high value for family support for work at 45 (60,8%). WFC was found to be low at 43 (58.1%), FWC was also low at 43 (58.1%), WFF was given as high at 52 (70.3%), and FWF was high at 54 (73%) respondents. The results indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between family support and WFB (p value = 0.008 <0.05). Family support for work has a significant positive relationship with WFB (p value = 0.027 <0.05). Conclusion: Family support (family support and family support for work) has a relationship with Work-Family Balance.

Abstract

Introduction: In mining production activities, haul dump trucks are utilized for transportation purposes and are driven by an operator. The haul dump truck operator works in a shift work system consisting of 12 working hours. The workers are required to always control the steering speed, causing potential work fatigue. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between mental workload and sleep quantity with work fatigue among haul dump truck operators. Method: This study was a quantitative research study using a cross-sectional design. The population was 179 haul dump trucks operators, while the sample was 123 respondents determined through simple random sampling. The variables of this study were age, years of service, education level, mental workload, sleep quantity, and work fatigue complaints. The data was tested using the Chi-Square test. The instruments used to obtain the data were the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index and the Work Fatigue Measurement Tool Questionnaire. Result: The haul dump truck operators (54.5%) had a high mental workload, low sleep quantity (61.8%) with less than 7 hours of sleep, and moderate fatigue complaints (44.7%). There was a significant relationship found between age (P-value = 0.018), years of service (P-value = 0.039), and sleep quantity (P-value = 0.001) with work fatigue complaints. The level of education and mental workload had a significance value above 0.05. Conclusion: Sleep quantity has a significant relationship with work fatigue complaints. This can be responded to by intensifying the information on the socialization of fatigue and the importance of maintaining the quality of sleep.

Abstract

Introduction: Fires in the workplace can have consequences that adversely affect many parties, both for companies of the workers and the wider community, including institutions such as hospitals. In this research, hospitals are considered to be at high risk of causing fatalities in the event of a fire. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the prevention and control of fire in dr. R. Koesma Hospital Tuban based on the regulation of Minister of Health No.66 of 2016 about Occupational Health and Safety of Hospital. Method: This research is observational research. Data collection was done by interview and observation. The assessment of the evaluation of fire prevention and control is done by using a scoring formula made independently. Result: The evaluation is done on the identification of fire and explosion risk areas as well as on the mapping of high-risk areas of fire and explosion in dr. R. Koesma Hospital based on regulation of Minister of Health No.66 of 2016. The evaluation results on both aspects are 4% out of 6%. The evaluation result of the risk reduction of fire and explosion hazards shows a score of 15% out of 18%. The evaluation result of fire control is 22%. The evaluation result of the fire simulation shows a score of 38% out of 48%. Conclusion: This research concludes that the evaluation results of the fire prevention and control system in dr. R. Koesma Hospital based on regulation of Minister of Health No.66 of 2016 show a score of 83%.

Abstract

Introduction: Burnout in employees is caused by individual factors, including demographic characteristics and locus of control. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between demographic characteristics and locus of control with burnout among employees at the head office of a pharmaceutical company in North Jakarta. Methods: This research was a correlational study with a cross-sectional design. The population in this research were permanent employees of the pharmaceutical company's head office in North Jakarta, amounting to 88 employees. The research sample was 47 employees, using the probability sampling method with the proportional stratified random sampling technique. The independent variables in this research were gender, age, education level, marital status, and locus of control. At the same time, the dependent variable in this research was burnout. Data collection used the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Work Locus of Control (WLOC). The data in this study were analyzed by the Spearman Correlation test and the Cramer Correlation test. Results: Most of the employees were female, 26-35 years old, married, and have a college education level. Burnout was moderate in most of these employees. Demographic characteristics which had a relationship with burnout were age (p=0.012) and education level (p=0.014). Meanwhile, gender (p=0.373) and marital status (p=0.297) had no relationship with burnout. Locus of control and burnout also had a relationship (p=0.015). Conclusion: Gender and marital status had no relationship with employees burnout. However, age and education level had a relationship with employees burnout. There was also a relationship between locus of control and burnout.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan industri yang begitu pesat, waktu untuk melakukan aktivitas pekerjaan menjadi lebih panjang dan para pekerja dituntut untuk bekerja dengan hasil optimal. Jam kerja yang terlalu banyak dan berubah-ubah menyebabkan waktu istirahat dan tidur pekerja menjadi berkurang sehingga meningkatkan tingkat kelelahan saat bekerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara kualitas tidur dengan kelelahan kerja pada tenaga kerja. Penelitian ini merupakan tinjauan pustaka sistematis dengan metode PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analyses). Pencarian literatur diperoleh dari Google Scholar, Science Direct, PubMed, Garuda Jurnal, dan Neliti Jurnal. Kata kunci "sleep quality AND work fatigue" dan "kualitas tidur AND kelelahan kerja" digunakan dalam artikel yang terbit dari tahun 2018-2023. Sebanyak 709 artikel ditemukan, namun hanya 8 artikel yang layak digunakan setelah melalui proses eliminasi yang disesuaikan dengan topik penelitian, lolos duplikasi, dan dapat diakses secara menyeluruh. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kualitas tidur dengan kelelahan kerja serta penurunan kualitas tidur pada pekerja dikaitkan dengan peningkatan tingkat kelelahan kerja. Pengaturan waktu kerja dan istirahat yang buruk pada berbagai jenis pekerjaan, dapat berpengaruh terhadap kualitas tidur pekerjanya sehingga kualitas tidur yang baik diperlukan untuk menurunkan tingkat kelelahan kerja.

Abstract

Introduction: We intend to evaluate the current literature, published from 2019 to 2022 and study the types of leadership styles and how they affected nurse burnout. Aims: the research was to systematically review the influence of leadership style on nurse burnout. Methods A systematic literature search was conducted through an electronic search in three databases and was guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) with some inclusion criteria compiled by the research objective.  Results A total of 15 selected articles show that leadership styles affected nurse burnout both directly and indirectly. This systematic review shows that some leadership styles had an influence on increasing nurse burnout, as well as affecting their job satisfaction, psychological distress and their intention to leave. Some other leadership styles also influenced reducing nurse burnout and increasing their work engagement. Conclusions Due to the variety of leadership styles studied in the articles, it’s hard to draw specific conclusions. However, this systematic review shows most of the articles stated that some specific leadership styles took part in increasing nurse burnout, and some other leadership styles were able to reduce nurse burnout in particular.

Abstract

Introduction: The steel box girder of Suramadu Bridge is a confined work area with sensor maintenance activities and potential hazards. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential hazards and risk levels in the Suramadu Bridge steel box girder work area. Methods: This descriptive study involved cross-sectional data collection. This study used a qualitative risk assessment method. The primary data used in this research included interviews with informants, which consisted of five key informants from experts and five main informants from technicians. The secondary data of the study include a job safety analysis document issued by the Suramadu Bridge Structural Health Monitoring System (SHMS). Risk assessment was performed by determining the level of likelihood and consequences using a risk analysis matrix. Data processing techniques and analysis are based on job safety analysis documents and interviews, whereas the risk analysis table is based on AS/NZS 4360 (2004). Results: The study results show that sensor maintenance work in the steel box girder area involves eight activities, 15 potential hazards, and 19 risks. Conclusion: The study concludes that, Out of the 19 identified risks, three risks (16%) were in the low-risk category, 15 risks (79%) were in the medium-risk category, and one risk (5 %) was in the high-risk category with the potential for fire.

Abstract

Introduction: The return to work of all workers suffering from occupational diseases and work-related injuries is regulated by the Indonesian government. This does not apply to employees with nonwork-related chronic illnesses. Workers with chronic illnesses often encounter many obstacles when returning to work, greatly affecting their intention to return to work. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the factors that could affect work readiness among patients with chronic diseases and business owners. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. The study population included all patients with chronic disease in Indonesia. The research sample used a simple random sampling technique, comprising 332 people. Data were analyzed using ordinal logistic regression tests. Results: There was an effect of 17.1% between age, gender, marital status, years of service, and employment status on the return to work readiness of patients with chronic diseases. The type of company and the presence of employees with chronic diseases in the company can affect the return to work readiness of business owners by 25.4%. Conclusion: Based on this finding, special support from different sectors such as governments, non-governmental organizations, and awareness raising by businesses for people with chronic diseases is needed so that they can return to work. It's ready.
