These complaints were felt by the workers since there was a change in work patterns from 2 weeks of work and 2 weeks off to 4 working weeks and 4 weeks off. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence complaints of physical and mental work fatigue due to changes in work patterns in regular PHE 5 WMO workers. This study is a sectional technique of Stratified Random Sampling sampling 67 workers. The variables in this study were age, sleep quality, and complaints of physical and mental work fatigue. Individual characteristic data was obtained using a questionnaire. Sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Complaints of physical and mental work fatigue were measured using the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee of the Japanese Association of Industrial Health (IFRC Japan) questionnaire. Data were analyzed by a logistic regression test. obtained a regression coefficient of 1.896 with a Wald value of 7.278 and a significance value of 0.007. These results show a significance value of less than 0.05 (sig < 0.05) so that it is stated that there is a significant influence between sleep quality on complaints of physical and mental fatigue, meaning that the worse sleep quality will have a significant effect on the higher complaints of physical and mental fatigue.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is a contented feeling of employees when they are able to fulfill expectations for needs with good work-life balance conditions so that they can work effectively and efficiently. The goal of this study was to find out how workers in the shipyard industry feel about their work-life balance and how happy they are with their jobs. The variables were the characteristics of employees (age, education level, marital status, and years of service). The data were shown in frequency distribution tables and cross tabulations. Chi-square test was employed to analyze the data. The work-life balance of employees was related to their age (sig. 0.039), but not to their level of education (sig. 0.723), marital status (sig. 0.535), or number of years of service (sig. 0.724). The results of statistical tests on the two main factors showed that work-life balance and job satisfaction were linked (sig. 0.019). Overall, employees in the shipyard industry were much happier with their jobs when they had a good balance between work and life. The company is expected to maintain the work-life balance of its employees to increase the job satisfaction of the workers and indirectly increase the achievement of work productivity in the company.

This research is included in quantitative research with the type of observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all maintenance workers at PT X, amounting to 35 people. The sampling technique used is the total population. The independent variables in this study include emotional intelligence. While the dependent variable is work stress. The method of data collection is using a questionnaire. The results of the data that have been collected are statistically analyzed using the Spearman correlation test and the Cramer contingency coefficient correlation test. The results showed that emotional intelligence has a low relationship (r= -0,291) with work stress and has the opposite direction of relationship. The conclusion of this study is that the higher the emotional intelligence, the lower the perceived work stress. Therefore, the company can reduce work stress by knowing the causes of the mental workload of workers and increasing emotional intelligence by providing case studies, puzzles, etc. during the safety morning talk. Keywords: mental workload, emotional intelligence, work stress

Abstract

Introduction: Go-Jek Drivers have experienced a change in condition due to the declining number of Go-Jek users during the pandemic. One of the impacts is work stress. This research aims to determine the relationship between individual characteristics and the work stress of Go-Jek drivers during the pandemic. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional design and the total population sampling technique where the population was all members of the Go-Jek motorbike driver community in Semolowaru Surabaya, totaling 65 people. Age, marital status, total dependents, and working period were the independent variables. Work stress was the dependent variable. The retrieval of data was done using a questionnaire based on the Minister of Manpower Regulation No.5 of 2018 to measure work stress. To determine the relationship between age and working period with work stress, this study used the Pearson test. The relationship between total dependents and work stress was determined using Fisher's exact test. The relationship between marital status and work stress used the contingency coefficient method. Results: In total, 39 drivers (60%) experienced moderate work stress and 26 drivers (40%) experienced heavy work stress. The relationship of age with work stress was very weak (0.040), the relationship between marital status and work stress was very weak (0.013), the relationship between total dependents and work stress was very weak (0.131), and the relationship between working period and work stress was weak (0.234). Conclusion: The relationships between age, marital status, and the total dependents with work stress are very weak, and working period and work stress also have a weak relationship.
