Abstract

Background: Job burnout is a phenomenon that often occurs in the workplace because of experiencing prolonged job stress. The higher the level of workers' self-efficacy, the lower the probability of job stress and the potential of job burnout experienced by workers. Purpose: To identify the influence of self-efficacy and job stress toward job burnout at a packaging company in Surabaya. Method: It was an analytical observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The respondents of this research were 99 workers in the production site of the packaging company in Surabaya. Questionnaire was used to collect individual data including age, gender, work period, education, and marital status which were related to the respondents' characteristics, while self-efficacy questionnaire was used to gather data about the workers' self-efficacy, HSE Management Standards Indicator Tool for job stress questionnaire, and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) for job burnout questionnaire. Further, simple random sampling was used to draw the sample. The data were descriptively analyzed using related linear regression test. Result: Self-efficacy was proved to significantly influence job burnout in the aspects of reduced personal accomplishment (p-value=0.000), but self-efficacy did not influence job burnout in the aspects of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Whereas job stress was proved to significantly influence job burnout in the aspect of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization or reduced personal accomplishment (p-value=0.000). Conclusion: In sum, all aspects in job burnout were influenced by job stress.

Abstract

Pottery making is a repetitive job with long working duration and is done with a less ergonomic working posture that is at risk of causing health problems, but its impact on blood pressure has not been widely studied. This study aimed to analyze the influence of individual factors of pottery craftsmen on the incidence of hypertension. This study used a cross-sectional design. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique, with a sample size of 95 pottery craftsmen in Karanganyar Tourism Village, Magelang. Individual factors (age and gender), diet, and sodium intake were measured by interview and food recall; while blood pressure was measured using a digital tensiometer. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Pearson correlation test. The results of this study showed p-value of 0.068 for gender, 0.002 for age, 0.001 for diet and 0.001 for sodium intake. It could be concluded that age, diet, and sodium intake are determinants of the incidence of hypertension in pottery craftsmen.Keywords: pottery craftsmen; hypertension; age; diet; sodium intake ABSTRAK Pembuatan tembikar merupakan pekerjaan repetitif dengan durasi kerja yang lama dan dilakukan dengan postur kerja yang kurang ergonomis berisiko menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan, namun dampaknya terhadap tekanan darah belum banyak diteliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor individu pengrajin tembikar terhadap kejadian hipertensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross-sectional. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling, dengan ukuran sampel 95 pengrajin tembikar di Desa Wisata Karanganyar, Magelang. Faktor individu (usia dan jenis kelamin), pola makan, dan asupan natrium diukur melalui wawancara dan food recall; sedangkan tekanan darah diukur dengan tensimeter digital. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai p adalah 0,068 untuk jenis kelamin, 0,002 untuk usia, 0,001 untuk pola makan dan 0,001 untuk asupan natrium. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa usia, pola makan, dan asupan natrium merupakan determinan kejadian hipertensi pada pengrajin tembikar. Kata kunci: pengrajin tembikar; hipertensi; usia; pola makan; asupan natrium

Abstract

Haul dumptruck is a heavy-duty vehicles which is used to haul the overburden from loading point to disposal area. Haul dumptruck is driven by operators who have a high enough workload risk, especially on mental activity. The purpose of this study was to learn the correlation between mental workload with fatigue complaints of PT. MKP haul dumptruck operators at PKP2B PT. Mandiri Intiperkasa Site Krassi, Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara. This research was an analytic observational research with cross sectional design. The Sample of this research was 110 PT. MKP haul dumptruck operators at PKP2B PT. Mandiri Intiperkasa Site Krassi. The Variables of this research were individual factors (age, gender, and years of service), mental workload, and fatigue complaints. The data were analyzed by spearman correlation test to analyze the correlation between variables. The results showed 50% of haul dumptruck operators were 35-44 years old, 100% male, and 32.7% had 7-10 years of service. Most of haul dumptruck operators (58.2%) had very high mental workload levels and 68.2% was having low-grade fatigue complaints. The significant ρ value of the spearman test between mental workload and fatigue complaints was 0,400, while the correlation coefficient value was -0,081. The conclusion of this reasearch indicated that there was not a significant correlation between mental workload and fatigue complaints on haul dumptruck operators. Recommendation for the company are forming a labor unions, fixing cottage rest areas, giving co-worker when haul dumptruck operators complain of fatigue and mental workload on high level, and maintainin-developing a fatigue management as well as raising workers' awareness on its application.

Abstract

Hasil kompilasi accident perusahaan logistics , terdapat 136 kasus accident di tahun 2022 dengan 44 kasus kecelakaan katagori diatas major dan penyebab langsung 5 katagori teratas adalah hilangnya konsentrasi saat mengemudi. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan HR staff dan HSE analyst di perusahaan logistics belum pernah mengadakan pengukuran keluhan kelelahan di tempat kerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh dari beban kerja mental, beban kerja fisik, ritme kerja, Kondisi kesehatan terhadap keluhan kelelahan kerja di perusahan logistics menggunakan teori pengaruh penyebab kelelahan & penyegaran yang dikemukakan oleh Grandjean. Perusahaan logistics mempunyai tenaga kerja yang terdiri dari pekerja kantor, warehouse dan driver yang berjumlah 317 pekerja.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analaitik observasional  dengan  desain  penelitian  cross sectional dengan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial  menggunakan structural equation modelling dengan menggunakan aplikasi smart PLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pekerja di perusahaan logistics mempunyai  beban  kerja  mental  tinggi,  beban  kerja  fisik  ringan, hasil  pemeriksaan kesehatan  fit  dengan  catatan dan waktu  kerja  lembur dan keluhan  kelelahan  sedang.  Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kelelahan kerja pekerja perusahaan logistics adalah beban kerja mental, beban kerja fisik, ritme kerja dan kondisi kesehatan.

Abstract

Introduction : Sleep is an important aspect that plays a role in health and thinking processes. Seafaring is a job with a high level of mobilization and uncertain working hours causing less sleep time and having fatal consequences for health as such dementia. As less as reduction in 1% of deep sleep per year for people whohad ages over 60 years reflected as 27% improving the risk of dementia. Aims : This study aimed to help determining the influence of the quantity and quality of sleep and the level of dementia in tanker sailors PT. X Jakarta. Method : This research is a mixed qualitative and quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach with a total of 43 respondents selected by using random sampling techniques. The dependent variable used is the sailor's dementia level and the independent one is the sailor's sleep quality. It was found that 30 respondents had poor sleep quality, Based on the MMSE questionnaire’s results, there are 15 respondents had moderate levels of dementia and 5 respondents had severe levels of dementia. Result : The results of statistical tests using Pearson with SPSS software obtained a Sig value. (2-tailed) between the sleep quality variable and dementia is 0.000 < 0.05, so it is meant that there is a significant correlation of sleep quality toward dementia. Conclusion : This study concluded that there was a correlation of sleep quality and dementia in PT. X Jakarta.

Abstract

Background: Many chemicals, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX), are commonly used in the shoe industry. Because of these substances’ toxicological characteristics, workers are exposed to serious health risks. Objectives: This article aims to systematically review BTEX exposure among workers in the shoe-making industry, focusing on associated health risks and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies. It explores how occupational factors such as hand hygiene, age, job type, smoking habits, and personal protective equipment usage influence the severity of BTEX exposure effects. Methods: This systematic review examined the impact of BTEX exposure on shoemaking industry workers, selecting 32 national and international articles based on keyword-based searches. Exclusion criteria included past publications, risk assessment, exposure measurement, and mitigation strategies. Inclusion criteria included publications from the past 10 years. Data extraction included BTEX exposure levels, health outcomes, and working conditions. Results: The review highlights the health risks of BTEX exposure to shoemaking workers, including leukemia, neurological impairment, respiratory problems, and reproductive issues, emphasizing the need for improved safety protocols. Conclusion: This review drew attention to the health risks that BTEX compounds pose to workers in the shoe industry, emphasizing the need for stronger safety regulations and enforcement as well as recommendations for future studies on safer procedures.

Abstract

Jumlah kecelakaan kerja yang semakin meningkat menjadi tantangan besar bagi perusahaan, termasuk aspek keselamatan kerja yang berisiko tinggi terjadi kecelakaan kerja. Salah satu faktor yang memungkinkan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja adalah faktor individu pekerja, yaitu safety motivation dan safey knowledge. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh safety motivation dan safety knowledge terhadap safety performance pada pekerja area Pabrik 1B PT X di Gresik. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 96 pekerja yang bekerja di area Pabrik 1B yang dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji regresi logistik biner. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa safety motivation (p-value = 0,005) dan safety knowledge (p-value = 0,000) berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap safety performance, baik secara parsial maupun simultan (p-value = 0,000). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa safety motivation dan safety knowledge merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan safety performance.

Abstract

Keselamatan kerja merupakan serangkaian usaha yang ditujukan untuk melindungi pekerja dari risiko kecelakaan kerja dan insiden, serta memastikan pekerja untuk tetap dapat bekerja secara aman dan selamat di lingkungan kerja. Salah satu upaya keselamatan kerja yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah kecelakaan kerja dan tercapainya zero accident yaitu dengan mengidentifikasi dan meningkatkan perilaku aman pada pekerja karena sebagaian besar yakni 88% kecelakaan yang terjadi di tempat kerja disebabkan oleh faktor perilaku pekerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara faktor predisposing yang terdiri dari masa kerja, pendidikan, pengetahuan, dan sikap dengan perilaku aman pada pekerja. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat observasional analitik dengan desain cross-sectional study. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil menggunakan teknik total sampling yaitu sebanyak 36 responden pada salah satu unit produksi di perusahaan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji korelasi spearman untuk menguji hubungan antara variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara faktor predisposing yang terdiri dari masa kerja (p=0,005 r=0,456), pendidikan (p=0,005 r=0,462), pengetahuan (p=0,000 r=0,800), dan sikap (p=0,000 r=0,713) dengan perilaku aman pada pekerja unit produksi. Disarankan bagi pihak perusahaan untuk melakukan safety patrol dan safety briefing yang dijadwalkan secara rutin dengan tujuan untuk memantau para pekerja sekaligus pengecekan terhadap kelayakan APD dan kondisi tempat kerja. Selain itu, juga melakukan pelatihan K3 dengan materi aplikatif baru, yang juga melibatkan dan melatih pekerja untuk ikut serta dalam melaporkan temuan ketidaksesuaian di lapangan.

Abstract

Mental health literacy is regarded as a significant factor influencing an individual's intention to seek professional psychological help when confronted with mental health issues. The elevated psychosocial risks inherent to the profession of healthcare work render these individuals particularly susceptible to mental health issues, with a higher prevalence observed among females. This study aims to assess the relationship between mental health literacy and mental help-seeking intention among female healthcare workers, and to explore potential associations between sociodemographic characteristics and these variables. Methods: A total of 140 female healthcare workers were surveyed. The data collection instrument included socio-demographic characteristics, Mental Health Literacy (MHL), and Mental Help-Seeking Intention Scale (MHSIS) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis, Pearson correlation, simple and multiple linear regression. The results showed that mental health literacy showed a significant positive correlation with mental help-seeking intention (r = 0.395, p < 0.001). Simple linear regression indicated MHL significantly predicted help-seeking intention (β = 0.395, p < 0.001). Multiple linear regression controlling for age, tenure, and marital status confirmed MHL remained a significant predictor (β = 0.375, p < 0.001). However, Kruskal-Wallis tests found no significant differences in variables by socio-demographic factors (p > 0.05). The findings highlight the importance of mental health literacy in influencing an individual’s intention to seek professional help. Although socio-demographic factors showed no significant effect, mental health literacy remains a key factor in addressing mental health issues among female healthcare workers.

Abstract

Sumber daya manusia di dalam sebuah perusahaan berkaitan dengan karakteristik individu para pekerja. Salah satu upaya pengelolaan sumber daya manusia yang baik, yaitu dengan pencapaian quality of work life yang baik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik individu dengan quality of work life pekerja Departemen X di PLTU Jawa Timur. Variabel independen yang digunakan adalah tingkat pendidikan dan usia, sedangkan variabel dependen adalah quality of work life. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional study. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 49 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan dengan quality of work life (p = 0,037). Tidak ada hubungan antara usia dengan quality of work life (p = 0,843). Perusahaan dapat mengevaluasi kembali kebijakan terkait pendidikan dan pelatihan yang bisa didapatkan oleh pekerja. Selain itu, perusahaan dapat membuat acara yang dapat meningkatkan kerja sama antar pekerja.
