Abstract

Development of teaching material based on laboratory research is one way that can be done to improve students' creative thinking abilities in meeting the challenges of 21st century learning. The aims of this study are to determine the feasibility of the developed environmental chemistry modules, to improve of students' thinking abilities and determine the students’ responses to the use of modules in environmental chemistry lectures. Module development by R and D methods 4D model, namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Module quality is determined by expert validation test. Based on the results of expert validation, the module developed obtained 90.91% percentage of eligibility with a very good category. Based on the N-Gain value obtained, an increase in students' creative thinking abilities on the aspect of  flexibility was 0.47, and the aspect of elaboration was 0.64 with medium category. The student responses to the use of modules in learning enviromental chemistry obtained a percentage of 83.82% with very good category.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar komponen kimia yang meliputi zat ekstraktif, lignin, holoselulosa dan ?-selulosa pelepah sawit varietas dura, menjelaskan pengaruh bagian pelepah sawit varietas dura terhadap kadar ekstraktif, lignin, holoselulosa dan ?-selulosa, membandingkan perbedaan kadar komponen kimia antar bagian pangkal, tengah dan ujung dari pelepah sawit varietas dura, mengindentifikasi gugus fungsi yang ada pada sampel (lignin, holoselulosa dan ?-selulosa) dengan menggunakan metode spektroskopi FTIR, membandingkan pengaruh perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah diberi pengembangan konsep makromolekul dengan melihat video yang diaplikasikan pada Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) terhadap cara berfikir kritis siswa Olimpiade Kimia. Zat ekstraktif, holoselulosa, ?- selulosa dan lignin dianalisis dengan menggunakan Tappi Test methode :204, T 203, T:222 serta diidentifikasi dengan spektroskopi FTIR. Hasil penelitian Kadar komponen kimia pada pelepah sawit varietas dura menurut bagiannya dari pangkal, tengah, ujung berturut-turut dengan rerata untuk kadar zat ekstraktif 8,92%, 7,80% , 7,23%. Lignin 24,89 %, 26,87 %, 24,17 %. Holoselulosa 84,11 %, 83,47 %, 82,24% dan ?- selulosa 45,76 %, 45,76 %, 45,54%. Penelitian pendidikan dengan desain one-group pretes-postes. Penelitian pendidikan dilakukan dengan melakukan proses pembelajaran menggunakan Video dan LKPD sesuai dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Pada implementasi dalam pembelajaran terdapat perbedaan pada hasil belajar kimia sebelum dan sesudah proses pembelajaran menggunakan video dan LKPD. Rata-rata nilai pretest 42,25 sedangkan rata-rata postest sebesar 83,50 dan terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar setelah dilakukan proses pembelajaran menggunakan Video dan LKPD secara signifikan sebesar 41.25. Abstract

ABSTRACT[Development of Visual Audio-Based Microbiology Research Materials for Lipolithic Bacteria to Measure The Ability of Creative Thinking]. The purpose of this research was to develop the design of audio visual teaching materials to measure the creative thinking ability of biology students of FMIPA University of Bengkulu, based on research of lipolytic bacteria degrading palm oil liquid waste. The development model used is the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). In the defining phase, an analysis of the depth of the material, from learning indicators in syllabus, units of lectures agenda and a great line of lesson plan. The analysis is also done by direct interviews to lecturers of microbiology subjects, and participate in learning activities both in the classroom and laboratory. The results of this material analysis serve as guidance in making the design of audio visual teaching materials. The next stage of activity is the design of the preparation of teaching materials developed from the existing learning syllabus. The design of audio visual teaching materials is carried out by feasibility measurement by media experts, IT experts and education practitioners. The results of the measurement of audio-visual material by media experts as 80%, by IT experts as 91.2%, and by education practitioners 75.2%. The deployment stage was only tested on 72 students of Biology Strata one math and science faculty University of Bengkulu, to see the level of creative thinking ability. Measurements to the level of creative thinking ability of students obtained a value of 12.5% in the high category, 70.8% medium category, and 16.7% low category. Keywords: Audio visual; Creative Thinking; 4D Model(Received August 13, 2018; Accepted January 12, 2019; Published February 25, 2019)                                                    ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan desain bahan ajar audio visual untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam  Universitas Bengkulu, yang berbasis penelitian bakteri lipolitik pendegradasi limbah cair kelapa sawit. Model pengembangan  yang digunakan yaitu model 4D (define, design, develop, desseminate). Pada tahap pendefinisian dilakukan analisis terhadap kedalaman  materi, dari indikator pembelajaran yang ada di silabus, satuan acara perkuliahan dan garis besar rencana pembelajaran. Analisis juga dilakukan dengan wawancara langsung kepada dosen pemangku mata kuliah mikrobiologi, dan ikut serta dalam kegiatan pembelajaran baik di kelas maupun praktikum di laboratorium. Hasil dari analisa materi ini dijadikan pedoman dalam membuat desain bahan ajar audio visual. Tahapan kegiatan selanjutnya adalah  rancangan desain penyusunan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dari silabus pembelajaran yang sudah ada. Desain bahan ajar audio visual dilakukan pengukuran kelayakan oleh ahli media, ahli IT dan praktisi pendidikan. Hasil pengukuran kelayakan bahan ajar audio visual oleh ahli media  80 %, oleh ahli IT  91,2 %, dan oleh praktisi pendidikan 75,2 %. Tahap penyebaran hanya diuji cobakan pada 72 orang  mahasiswa S-1 Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan  Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Bengkulu, untuk melihat tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatifnya. Pengukuran terhadap tingkat kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa didapatkan nilai 12,5% dalam kategori tinggi, 70,8 % kategori sedang, dan 16,7 % kategori rendah. Kata kunci : Audio visual; Berpikir kreatif; Model 4D.

Abstract

AbstraCT[Activity test of Caesalpinia sp seed extract on erythrocytes amount of Mus musculus infected by Plasmodium berghei and its implementation in chemistry learning]. The aims of this study were to (1) determine the activity of seed extract (Caesalpinia sp) on the number of Erythrocytes of M. Musculus of Swiss Webster Strain infected by P.berghei, (2) Find  the active compounds obtained from the isolation of Caesalpinia sp seed extract (3) Find the differences in student learning outcomes about the separation of secondary metabolites using thin layer chromatography (TLC) which is taught in chemistry learning by using LKS. In this study Caesalpinia sp seed extract was purified by thin layer chromatography and column coromatography, and was identified by IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. M. musculus infected with P. berghei was given Caesalpinia sp seed extract at a dose of 0.028 g/Kgbb, 0.056 g/Kgbb, and 0.084 g / Kgbb by gavage, while the positive control group was given Kloroquin diphosphate, negative control was given olive oil. Caesalpinia sp seed extract with a dose of 0.056 g/Kgbb inhibited the highest plasmodium, which was 42.89% and even exceeded the malaria drug commonly used chloroquin diphosphate 29.85%. Caesalpinia sp seed extract capable of reducing plasmodium in erythrocytes is also able to increase the number of uninfected erythrocytes. The active compounds obtained from the isolation of Caesalpinia sp seed extract are alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids. In the implementation of extracurricular group learning is taught by using worksheets. There are significant differences where the average posttest score is 88.67 and the average pretest is 32.1. Keywords: Caesalpinia Sp.; Erythrocyte; Plasmodium berghei; Mus muscullus; Student working sheet.

Abstract

Abstract[Module Development of KOBA with 4-D Model to Improve Students' Creative Thinking Skills]. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of quality of the modules developed and the ability of creative thinking of students in KOBA courses. Module development is done by 4D model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The quality of the module can be identified through validation tests with education expert lecturers and chemists. The ability to think creatively is measured using description questions based on indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, and elaboration. Measurement is done by comparing the results of the pretest and posttest. Next the results were tested for normality and homogeneity. Then hypothesis testing is carried out. Based on validation tests by expert lecturers, the modules that have been compiled are known to have good module quality levels. The average pretest and posttest scores were 56.046 and 72.549 respectively. Berdasarkan uji validasi oleh dosen ahli, modul yang telah disusun diketahui memiliki tingkat kualitas modul yang baik. Rata-rata nilai pretest dan posttest masing-masing adalah 56,046 dan 72,549. Setelah uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji hipotesis, maka diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa pada mata kuliah KOBA dengan menggunakan modul. Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to know the value of density, viscosity, fog point, oil absorption caloric, odor, color and fire sensitivity, in pyrolysis of plastic garbage from condenser one and two adsorbed using zeolite and activated charcoal, (2) the content contained in pyrolysis plastic waste oil adsorbed using active zeolite and charcoal, (3) knowing differences in critical thinking skills among students who learn to use guided inquiry learning model with students who study conventionally on physics learning. Convert plastic waste into fuel oil using a pyrolysis process with two water condensers, then plastic waste pyrolysis oil adsorbed using activated zeolite and charcoal. The results showed that the density value of the adsorbed oil for one condenser was 772 Kg / m3 and the condenser was 770 Kg / m3, the viscosity value of the adsorbed oil from the condenser one and two had the same value of 0.49 m2 / s, the fog point value oil that has been adsorbed on the condenser yield one and two is the same value that is -18oC, the calorific value of oil absorption, color, odor, and fire sensitivity shows the more adsorbent and the longer the adsorption process, the oil absorbs the smaller, , the odor does not sting, and the fire sensitivity gets smaller. GC-MS test results obtained the most compounds contained in pyrolysis oil plastic waste that has been adsorbed that is 1,3,5-trimethylcyclohexene. The implementation of physics learning on the concept of heat shows that there are differences in critical thinking skills in control and experiment class. Based on different test on posttest result the first material got 0,022 and postest second material equal to 0,047, the value is smaller than level of significance 0,05 so Ha accepted.

Abstract

 Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hasil karakterisasi senyawa metabolit sekunder dari hasil isolasi kulit batang J. multifida L dan bagaimana peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada pembelajaran kimia organik bahan alam menggunakan modul. Kulit batang J. multifida L dimaserasi menggunakan etanol (96%),filtrat diuapkan menggunakan rotary evaporator, kemudian difraksinasi cair-cair menggunakan pelarut dengan kepolaran bertingkat berturut-turut dengan pelarut n-heksana dan etil asetat. Tahap selanjutnya, Isolasi sampel menggunakan kromatografi kolom. Implementasi penggunaan modul dilakukan pada mahasiswa Pendidikan kimia semester VI pada mata kuliah kimia organik bahan alam (KOBA). Mata kuliah ini hanya diikuti oleh satu kelas yang bertindak sebagai kelas eksperiment. Pada awal pembelajaran dilakukan pretest dan diakhir pembelajaran diberikan posttest. Senyawa metabolit sekunder yang dapat diisolasi dari fraksi n-heksan pada kulit batang J.multifida L., Berdasarkan hasil analisis spektroskopi diduga bahwa senyawa memiliki kerangka senyawa steroid dengan golongan Stigmasterol dengan rumus molekul C29H48O. Pembelajaran Kimia Organik Bahan Alam (KOBA) dengan menggunakan modul memberikan peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa, terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan antara nilai rata-rata posttest (82,4) dengan rata-rata nilai pretest (58,4) dan KKM (75). Kata kunci: Kulit batang J.multifida L; isolasi; hasil belajar; modul.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk video pembelajaran kimia dan digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) pembelajaran kimia pada bahan minyak bumi dengan model Dick dan Carey, melalui tahapan: desain, validasi, revisi dan tes formatif untuk siswa kelas XI di SMAN 1 Bengkulu Tengah. Kemampuan berpikir kognitif siswa dapat diukur dan dilihat dari hasil tes formatif, data yang diperoleh dalam bentuk data kuantitatif dan dilakukan analisis deskriptif untuk menilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil tes formatif, 13,3% siswa kurang kritis, 60% siswa kritis, 20% siswa kritis dan 6,67% sangat penting.Kata kunci: Pengembangan; media; pembelajaran kimia; video; berfikir kritis.

Abstract

Abstract[Module Development Based on P. berghei Prevention Research in Musculus on Student Critical Thinking]. This study aims to develop learning module based on the research of prevent the occurrence P. berghei bacterial infection and as well as to determine students' critical thinking skills against learning process by modules. This study is Research and Development with 4D design (define, design, development, and desimination). The results of the study found prevention of Plasmodium behergei infection from% inhibitors of erythrocytes at each dose. The dosage used in this study was a dose of 0.014 g / kgbb, 0.028 g / kgbb, 0.056 g / kgbb. The dose of 0.014 g / kg has an 9,24 % inhibitor, a dose of 0.028 g / kgbb has a 9.93% inhibitor, the dose of 0.056 g / kgbb has a 6.61% inhibitor. So the dose of 0.028 g / kgbb is the dose that most reduces the risk of P.berghei infection Mus musculus. In this study the critical thinking students of Semester 6 Chemistry University of Bengkulu classically are good category with a score of 63.13. This percentage is divided in some indicators, the indicator focus  to the question is 67.92 value on the Critical criteria, considering the source can be trusted or not in the critically enough criteria with a value of 59.58, conclude by induction and consider the results of induction with a value of 64, 58 with critical criteria and identify assumptions of getting 63.13 values with critical criteria.Keyword: Module; J. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development dengan desain penelitian 4D (define, design, development, and desimination). Hasil penelitian didapatkan pencegahan infeksi Plasmodium behergei dari % penghambat pada eritrosit pada setiap dosis. Dosis pada penelitian digunakan dosis 0,014 g/kgbb, 0,028 g/kgbb, 0,056 g/kgbb.  Dosis 0,014 g/kgbb memiliki %penghambat 9,24 % , dosis 0,028 g/kgbb mimiliki %penghambat 9,93 %, dosis 0,056 g/kgbb memiliki %penghambat 6,61%. Jadi dosis 0,028 g/kgbb merupakan dosis yang paling mengurangi resiko terinfeksi P.bergehei pada mencit. Pada penelitian berpikir kritis mahasiswa pendidikan Kimia Semester 6 Universitas Bengkulu  secara klasikal berada pada kategori baik dengan nilai 63,13. Persentase ini dibagi dalam beberapa indikator yakni indikator memfokuskan pertanyaan berada pada kriteria Kritis dengan nilai 67,92, mempertimbangkan apakah sumber dapat dipercaya atau tidak berada pada kriteria cukup kritis dengan nilai 59,58, menyimpulkan dengan cara induksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil induksi dengan nilai 64,58 dengan kriteria kritis dan mengidentifikasikan asumsi mendapatkan nilai 63,13 dengan kriteria kritis.Kata kunci: Modul; J. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to develop the practicum of organic chemistry 1 by using the Adobe Flash application and to describe the students feasibility and response to the practicum developed. This type of research used in this research is research and development. The sample in this research is 3rd semester students of Chemistry Education Study Program in the academic year of 2018/ 2019. The instruments used in this research are validation sheets of material and media experts and response questionnaires students after testing. Based on the results of research that has been done, several stages of development ranging from problem identification, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product trials have been carried out. The results of the validation of material experts obtained an average of 4,20 (very valid category) and an average media expert of 4.275 (very valid category). For the readability test of the developed guide, it was obtained 4.204 (very interesting category and student response was 3,936 (interesting category). Based on the results of expert validation and testing to students, the development of the organic chemistry 1 practicum guide was feasible to be applied in learning activities in class.
