Abstract

This research is to precieve the learning outcomes and student responses to the applied models and applications. The type of research carried out was experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest design with the research subjects were 29 students of the fifth semester of 2019/2020 academic year who took Capita Selecta Chemistry Course. The data collection technique was carried out by means of test techniques, namely learning outcomes as seen from the pretest and posttest scores, as well as non-test techniques as seen from observation, interview and student response questionnaires to the application used via google form. The t test was carried out with the help of the SPSS 23 program. Based on the research conducted, there was an increase in student learning outcomes from a value of 65.172 (pretest average score) to 84.586 (posttest average score). The N-Gain score of 0.557 is included in the moderate category, indicating that there is a significant increase in student's critical thinking skills using the PjBL model and the Edmodo application. The results of the student response questionnaire stated that only 48.28% of students liked learning using the online/edmodo application. 51.72% of students still like direct/face-to-face learning. As many as 96.55% of students considered the Edmodo application to provide a new atmosphere in capita selecta lectures. The response to the edmodo application and the project model used was very good. Students are enthusiastic about the edmodo application because it has complete, interesting and easy to learn features. Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model using the Edmodo application can be recommended to be applied by the lecture.

Abstract

Litseaodoriferaval.(MedangPerawas) is well recognized in Muko-Mukoregency, Bengkulu Province and used as construction material. In Serawai and Lembak Ethnic groups, it is traditionally used as medication for mouth sprue, stomachache,and boil as well as used for inducing lactation. This research aims to extract secondary metabolite compound group contained in Litseraodorifera val. leaf and to examine its antioxidant activity potency against 1,1-diphenyl 2-picrylhidrazyl (DPPH). A Fresh leaves from Litseraodorifera val. collected from Tahura Forest, Central Bengkulu area were separated into two parts: one run into chemical screeningand the second was used for extraction experiment using ethanol, ethyl acetate, hexane and acetone. Secondary metabolite compound groups contained in those extracts were tested for antioxidantactivity potency. The results showed that the extract of Litseraodorifera val. leaf contained compound group of flavonoid, saponin, tannin, phenolicand terpenoid. The extract of Litseraodorifera val. Leafincrude extract, ethyl acetate, acetone, ethanol and hexane can reduce free radical of  DPPH with IC50 of 250.7; 66.7; 69.7; 100.3 and 181.9 ppm respectively. Those are higher compared to vitamin C whose IC50 was 28.3 ppm. The extract of Litseraodorifera val. leaf haspotency as antioxidant activity that can be developed through further research.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of LKPM based on solid lipid research of trimiristin nanoparticles resulting from nutmeg seed insulation as a guide sheet of organic chemical practicum II in lipid matter. This research uses 4-D methods, consisting of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, in this study the researchers only performed until the third stage which is the development stage (develope). This research data is obtained from the results of material and media expert validation questionnaires, product practicality questionnaires as well as pretest and posttest results tested to fourth semester students who participated in organic chemistry course II.LKPM based on Research Solid Lipid Nanoparticle (SLN) Trimiristin resulting from Nutmeg Seed Isolation that has been developed obtained a value of 83.75% on media validation and obtained a value of 87.3% on material validation, which means it is in the category of highly feasible. While the practicality percentage result of 88.36 % on the small-scale test, which goes into the category strongly agrees, The average result that means students strongly agree that the products that have been developed are very practical to use. The average value of N-Gain Small Scale Test Score is 0.43, meaning it can be concluded that The Student Practicum Worksheet (LKPM) based on Solid Lipid Nanoparticle (SLN) trimiristin research resulting from Nutmeg Seed Isolation (Myristica fragrans) has moderate effectiveness value.

Abstract

Medicinal plants ant nests or simbagh utak (Hydnophytum formicarum) are found in the Bengkulu area south of Bengkulu province. Simbagh utak tubers (H. formicarum) can empirically treat headaches, bruises and aches. H. formicarum also has cytotoxic, antioxidant and antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extract of the medicinal plant simbagh utak (H. formicarum) against alloxan-induced mice, and Phytochemical Test to determine the content of secondary metabolites contained in the extract. The extract was obtained by maceration by soaking simbagh utak powder (H. formicarum) with 96% ethanol as solvent. The solvent contained in the ethanolic extract of simbagh utak (H. formicarum) was evaporated using a rotary evaporator to obtain ethanolic extract of simbagh utak (H. formicarum). Furthermore, the ethanolic extract of simbagh utak (H. formicarum) was tested on mice that had been induced by alloxan. The results showed that after the ANOVA and T-student statistical tests were carried out, it could be stated that the tuber extract of the Simbagh Utak (H. formicarum) plant was seen to be very significant in reducing blood sugar levels of male mice (Mus musculus) that had been induced by alloxan at a dose of 0.7056 g. /kg BW, and tuber extract of H. formicarum contained flavonoid and phenolic compounds. Flavonoid and phenolic compounds can act as free radical scavengers.

Abstract

Red Palm Oil Olein (RPOO), obtained from Crude Palm Oil (CPO) processing, can be a potential source of provitamin A due to its high carotene. Water degumming and Alkali refining are alternative methods that are not widely used to remove gum and Free Fatty Acids (FFA) in making RPOO with relatively low heating temperatures. This study aims to determine the effect of increasing the amount of NaOH during neutralization on RPOO yield, FFA levels, β-carotene content, vitamin A, and preference level for RPOO. This study used Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with one treatment factor, namely variations in the addition of the amount of NaOH. The results showed that the variation of the addition of NaOH had a significant effect on decreasing FFA RPOO to range from 0.24 to 0.07. The content of β-carotene produced ranges from (635.87 to 645.54 ppm) and the content of provitamin A ranges from (105.97 to 107.59 μgRE). In addition, the RPOO yield decreased with an increase in NaOH use, ranging from (53.24 to 42.26%). Organoleptic tests showed that adding NaOH significantly affects the level of liking for the color and aroma of RPOO. Increasing the use of NaOH in alkaline refining could produce RPOO with good quality, but at the same time, it could reduce the yield of RPOO produced.

Abstract

Fisheries products in Bengkulu Province are still not to be classified well, so it may be considered not necessary to develop the discourse of product quality assurance. Regardless, the demands of globalization require each manufacturer to think ahead about the quality of the product "deserves" to be marketed, both in terms of the beneficial, characteristic, and image. Consumers have ample opportunity to get a product that is "inappropriate" according to his preference, one of which is through the use of brand equity as a guarantee of product quality as measured by the consumer response to price and product. The purposes of this study are: (1) to explain the relationship between the beneficial variables, characteristic, and the image of the brand equity variables, and (2) to analyze consumer response to the presence of the brand. From the results of this study also noted that the level of consumer preferences towards brand used by trader fresh fish is high in the city of Bengkulu. Assessment is based on expediency consumer brand presence (beneficial), the specific features that exist on the brand/merchant customer fresh sea fish (characteristic), and the picture attached to the brand (image). Based on the results of the Pearson test is known that the beneficial variables and the use of brand image on fresh fish merchant in the city of Bengkulu has a positive relationship to brand equity inherent in the product. Furthermore, it’s also obtained information that the consumer response to the presence of a brand that is used by trader fresh fish in the city of Bengkulu as a guarantee of quality is very good.

Abstract

Abstrak: Desa Tapak Gedung merupakan salah satu desa yang memiliki kasus stunting di kabupaten Kepahiang, Bengkulu. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu 1) memberikan pengetahuan terkait stunting, faktor penyebab stunting, dampak stunting, dan upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah stunting 2) memberikan pengetahuan terkait produk pangan yang mengandung zat gizi untuk mencegah stunting. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah sosialisasi kepada 25 orang mitra yang terdir dari remaja putri, ibu hamil, ibu menyusui, ibu menyusui yang memiliki anak beresiko stunting, kader posyandu, dan ibu-ibu PKK desa Tapak Gedeung. Kegiatan pengabdian dilanjutkan dengan evaluasi untuk mengukur pengetahuan mitra mengenai materi sosialiasi tersebut dengan mengisi kuisioner sebelum dan setelah materi sosialisasi disampaikan Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan mitra terkait stunting dan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah stunting dengan mengonsumsi gulai sari buah kelapa sawit dan lele. Peningkatan pengetahuan tersebut ditunjukkan dengan hasil evaluasi yang meningkat sebesar 29% dibandingkan sebelum disampaikannya materi sosialisasi.Abstract: Tapak Gedung Village is one of the villages that has stunting cases in Kepahiang district, Bengkulu. The objectives of this community service activity are 1) providing knowledge related to stunting, the causes of stunting, the impact of stunting, and efforts that can be taken to prevent stunting, and 2) providing knowledge related to food products that contain nutrients to prevent stunting. The method used in this community service activity was outreach to 25 target audiences: young women, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, nursing mothers with children at risk of stunting, posyandu cadres, and PKK mothers in Tapak Gedeung village. The service activity is followed by an evaluation to measure the target audience's knowledge of the socialization material. This community service activity results in an increase in the target audience's knowledge regarding stunting and efforts made to prevent stunting by consuming palm oil and catfish juice. The increase in knowledge is shown by the evaluation results, which increased by 29% compared to before the socialization material was delivered.

Abstract

Dewasa ini, nanopartikel mendapatkan perhatian istimewa di kalangan para peneliti termasuk pemerhati lingkungan karena nanopartikel memiliki luas permukaan yang sangat besar sehingga bisa dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut untuk berbagai keperluan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat nanopartikel perak secara biosintesis menggunakan ekstrak buah anggur beserta aplikasinya sebagai pereaksi dalam mendeteksi logam berat berbahaya, khususnya merkuri (II). Buah anggur diekstraksi menggunakan air pada suhu 80°C. Setelah dicampur dengan prekursor perak nitrat, reaksi pembentukan nanopartikel perak dipercepat dengan memanfaatkan sinar matahari sebagai energi panas alami. Nanopartikel perak yang terbentuk memiliki puncak absorbansi pada panjang gelombang maksimum 420 nm, dan selektif terhadap ion merkuri (II), yang ditandai dengan berubahnya warna nanopartikel perak tersebut dari coklat kekuningan menjadi bening. Selanjutnya, kamera digital dimanfaatkan untuk menganalisis konsentrasi ion merkuri di dalam sampel. Keakuratan metode citra digital ditentukan dengan membandingkan hasil pengukurannya terhadap metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Secara umum, metode citra digital dengan nanopartikel perak sebagai reagen deteksi ion merkuri dapat digunakan dengan kinerja mumpuni. Konsentrasi ion Hg (II) dari sampel lingkungan yang dianalisis menggunakan metode yang dikembangkan ini berada di bawah ambang batas yang diperbolehkan oleh Permenkes RI No. 492 tahun 2010, sehingga air lingkungan yang dianalisis masih layak dipergunakan untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga.

Abstract

Kebiul merupakan tumbuhan obat Masyarakat suku Serawai Bengkulu. Oleh masyarakat biji Kebiul digunakan  sebagai obat malaria. Biji Kebiul telah diteliti mampu menghambat perkembangan Plasmodium berghei pada Mencit. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi hasil penelitian melalui Pelatihan Pemanfaatan Tumbuhan Sumber Daya Lokal sebagai Obat Malaria yang Berpotensi sebagai Obat Covid-19 pada Guru  IPA  di Kabupaten Kaur. Pada awal kasus pandemic covid 19  beberapa peneliti melaporkan bahwa klorokuin dapat digunakan sebagai obat Covid-19, Berdasarkan uji praklinik biji Kebiul, mampu menghambat  perkembangan plasmodium malaria secara lebih baik dibandingkan dengan klorokuin. Melalui gambaran penelitian ini dimungkinkan biji Kebiul mempunyai potensi digunakan sebagai obat Covid-19. Pelatihan ini juga dimaksudkan sebagai upaya membangun sikap konservasi (pemanfaatan sumberdaya alam secara bijaksana) tentang tumbuhan obat di lingkungan sekolah. Pelatihan  diikuti oleh 40 guru IPA, hasil pelatihan berjalan baik, peserta mengikuti kegiatan secara aktif, hasil evaluasi pemahaman materi juga baik, dengan kriteria nilai sangat bagus.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan, respon mahasiswa terhadap suplemen bahan ajar bahan ajar Kimia Organik Bahan Alam (KOBA KIM 413, KD 2) dengan pendekatan STEM’S bebasis android dan hasil belajar mahasiswa  setelah menggunakan suplemen bahan ajar tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Juli 2020. Model yang digunakan pada penelitian pengembangan ini adalah ADDI (adaptasi dari model ADDIE) yang terdiri dari tahap analisis, perencanaan, pengembangan, penerapan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Univeristas Bengkulu dengan subjek mahasiswa pendidikan kimia Universitas Bengkulu yang mengambil mata kuliah KOBA TA 2019/2020. Mahasiswa dengan NPM genap berjumlah 9 orang untuk uji coba skala kecil dan mahasiswa dengan NPM ganjil berjumlah 21 orang untuk  uji coba skala besar. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket kebutuhan, lembar validasi, angket respon, serta lembar evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh: (1) tingkat kelayakan suplemen bahan ajar dengan pendekatan STEM’S berbasis android, persentase kelayakan dari segi materi  yang didapat yaitu 92,86 % dengan kategori sangat layak sedangkan dari segi media yaitu 80,21 % dengan kategori sangat layak sehingga bahan ajar dinilai layak untuk diujicobakan; (2) Hasil uji coba skala kecil didapatkan respon baik dengan persentasi rata-rata 89,75% dengan ada perbaikan; (3) Hasil belajar mahasiswa setelah menggunakan suplemen bahan ajar KOBA didapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 57,3 yang masuk pada kategori lulus. sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplemen bahan ajar cara-cara isolasi dan identifikasi senyawa bahan alam dengan pendekatan STEM’S bebasis android yang telah dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai suplemen dalam proses pembelajaran KOBA
