Abstract

This study focuses on the development of an ethnomathematics module incorporating Aceh culture for Grade IV students at SDN 58 Banda Aceh. The aim is to create a culturally relevant learning resource that improves students' understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly quadrilaterals. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, the study included a needs analysis, expert validation, and practicality assessments. The needs analysis revealed that existing materials lacked contextual relevance for students. The module received positive feedback from experts, with media expert validation scoring 98.3% and content expert validation at 90.55%, both categorized as "very feasible." Practicality tests with teachers and students showed scores of 93% and 91.8%, respectively, indicating the module’s high practicality. The findings suggest that the Aceh culture-based ethnomathematics module is both feasible and practical for use in enhancing students' learning experiences

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the learning outcomes of third-grade students on the topic of plane figures through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model Team Game Tournament (TGT) assisted by the Snakes and Ladders educational game. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 12 third-grade students of SDN Tanjung Selamat, consisting of 5 boys and 7 girls. Data were collected by observation for teacher and student activities as well as learning outcome tests. The results indicated a consistent improvement in both teacher and student activities as well as student achievement. Teacher activity increased from 58% in Cycle I (fair) to 79% in Cycle II (good), and 95% in Cycle III (very good). Student activity rose from 56% (fair) to 77% (good) and finally 92% (very good). Student learning mastery improved from 42% in Cycle I to 58.33% in Cycle II, and 83.33% in Cycle III, surpassing the minimum mastery criterion. These findings suggest that the implementation of the Cooperative TGT model with Snakes and Ladders media effectively enhances student engagement and learning outcomes in mathematics, particularly in understanding plane figures.

Abstract

Islamic values are the basis of reference in efforts to improve students' character and attitudes. The low value of students character is a scourge of today's problems. This study aims to determine the development of students' curiosity through the integration of Islamic values in mathematics learning. This research is a qualitative exploratory. Data were collected by using interviews and observations. The instruments used were observation sheets and interview guidelines to determine the development of curiosity. The subjects were three students at the Mathematics Education Department, FTIK IAIN Langsa. The results showed that two subjects have developed four indicators of curiosity: namely always asking questions, not accepting something learning as boring, showing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and showing pleasure in learning. Meanwhile, there is one subject but there is one subject that does not develop curiosity on indicators showing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The results of study support theories stating that the integration of learning mathematics and Islamic values has a positive impact on students character. Therefore, this research can be considered for the Faculty of Education to further develop learning that integrating science and Islamic values in curriculum development as an effort to develop student character.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is that the process of learning mathematics in plane material only relies on memorizing formulas, this occurs in students who do not understand the material. This research aims to determine the influence of the big book mathematics media on the learning outcomes of class IV MIN 11 Central Aceh students. The research was conducted using quantitative methods with a Nonequivalent Group Design. The population in this study were all class IV students at MIN 11 Central Aceh, while the sample was  class totaling  16 students and class totaling 14 students. This research instrument uses a learning outcomes test sheet and the data collection technique used is the test technique and uses the t-test in analyzing the data. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the average score obtained in the Pre-Test for the experimental class was 50.642 and for the control class with an average score of 46.437. Meanwhile, in the Post-Test, the average score obtained by the experimental class was 74.5 and the control class had an average score of 62.81. The results of statistical analysis obtained = 2.1047 and = 1.70, because > then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Kerwords: Big Book Math Media, Learning Outcomes, Two-Dimentional Figure

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of mathematical concepts at MIN 26 Aceh Besar. Data obtained from 26 students show that 27.88% of students can solve problems with the indicator of restating a concept, 41.35% can solve problems with the indicator of identifying examples and non-examples of a concept, and 30.77% can solve problems with the indicator of identifying objects according to specific properties in line with the concept. The low understanding of these concepts is due to the lack of students' desire to learn the material presented and their failure to pay attention to the material explained by the teacher. This study aims to determine the impact of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by unit cube props on the conceptual understanding of fifth-grade students at MIN 26 Aceh Besar. This research uses a quantitative method with a true-experimental design. The population in this study comprises all fifth-grade students at MIN 26 Aceh Besar, while the samples are class Va, consisting of 26 students, and class Vb, consisting of 23 students. The instrument used in this research is a test to measure students' conceptual understanding. The data collection technique is a test in the form of a pre-test and post-test. Data analysis techniques include converting ordinal data into interval data using the Method of Successive Intervals (MSI), creating frequency distribution lists, calculating average values, conducting normality tests, homogeneity tests, equality of two means tests, regression tests, and hypothesis tests. Based on the analysis results, the average score obtained in the experimental class pre-test is 12.59 and in the control class is 11.17. Meanwhile, the post-test average score for the experimental class is 18.598, and for the control class, it is 13.672. The analysis results show that t_{calculated} = 9.425 and t_{table} = 1.677; since t_{calculated} > t_{table}, Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education, Unit Cube Props

Abstract

Teachers need a simple teaching aid that aligns with the topic of three-dimensional shapes and can be reused over a long period. This research is motivated by students' difficulties in understanding the elements of three-dimensional shapes, as well as their confusion in determining the volume formulas of curved-sided solids that are relatively similar. Therefore, this study aims to develop an appropriate instructional media to help address these student learning difficulties. Therefore, research and development are necessary to produce the Potar Bungkerla media, which is adapted from the environment. R&D (Research and Development) with a model ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) used in this research. The instruments consist of expert validation sheets for media and content experts, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires. The final results obtained from media expert validation scored 93.6%, while content expert validation scored 83%, both classified as "highly feasible." Meanwhile, the teacher response scored 95% with a "very interesting" classification, and the student response scored 88.75%, also classified as "very interesting." As a result, this study successfully developed a learning media that can be used by students to overcome difficulties in discovering the volume formulas of curved-sided solids. These figures indicate that this media is highly feasible and captures students' interest. Therefore, the research has been completed, and the media can be used in Grade VI at MIN 22 Aceh Besar.
