Abstract

10percent of maternal mortality during the postpartum period are caused by infection due to bleeding from tears in the birth canal (perineal wound). The wound healing process is influenced by the intake of protein-rich nutrients. Free-range chicken eggs from are a high source of protein (Komala, 2021). This study aims to determine the effect of free-range chicken eggs on perineal wound healing among postpartum women. This was a pre-experimental study with intact group comparison. There were 32 samples who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The samples were assigned into the Intervention Group (administered with free-range chicken eggs) and the Control Group (were not administered with free-range chicken eggs). Data collection was performed through direct observation of perineal wounds using the REEDA scale score. Data were analyzed using the Fisher Exact statistical test. The results showed that there was a faster wound healing process among respondents who were administered with free-range chicken eggs (81.2percent) compare to those who were not administered with free-range chicken eggs (25percent) with a p value of 0.002 less than 0.05. It can be concluded that the administration of free-range chicken eggs chicken eggs had an effect on perineal wound healing among postpartum women. It is expected that postpartum women who experience perineal wound starting from the second grade will consume boiled free-range chicken eggs to speed up the wound healing process.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that can increase morbidity and mortality. Indonesia has a stunting rate of 24.4%, far from the government's target of 14% in 2024. Central Sulawesi Province is one of the regions with a high stunting rate (29.7%) and Enu Village contributes 41% as the stunting locus. Stunting prevention efforts must be carried out from an early age, especially for women of childbearing age as prospective brides and prospective mothers, who need to be equipped with good knowledge of stunting. This study aims to prove the effectiveness of giving a stunting pocketbook as a means of health education for women of childbearing age to prevent stunting. The research method used is a Pre-Experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. it was implemented in June 2022 in Enu Village, the working area of the Toaya Health Center. A sample of 36 people was taken using a purposive sampling technique, data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using paired t-test. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge before and after treatment of 14.72 with p-value = 0.001. Giving a stunting pocketbook as an educational tool has proven to increase the knowledge of women of childbearing age. It is hoped that education with pocketbooks can be given to teenagers as one of the preventive efforts to reduce the incidence of stunting. Abstrak: Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang dapat meningkatkan angka kesakitan dan kematian. Abstract

Introduction: Pregnant women infected with Covid-19 are at risk of experiencing miscarriage and preterm birth. From a total of 232 pregnant women, 8 individuals (3.4%) have been vaccinated against Covid-19 at Kinovaro Primary Health Center. Objective: To identify factors associated with the participation of pregnant women in the Covid-19 vaccination program. Method: This study employed an analytical research design with a Cross-Sectional approach. The population consisted of all pregnant women in the working area of Kinovaro Primary Health Center. The sample size was 43 respondents, selected using consecutive sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and data analysis included univariate and bivariate analyses using the chi-square test. Results: There is a significant association between knowledge and interest with the participation of pregnant women in the Covid-19 vaccination program (p value 0.000). There is no association between residential distance and the participation of pregnant women in the Covid-19 vaccination program (p value 0.56). Conclusion: There are two factors (knowledge and interest) that are associated with the participation of pregnant women in the Covid-19 vaccination program, and one factor (distance) that is not associated. Recommendations: Healthcare professionals are encouraged to enhance their efforts in providing effective education to individuals and families, especially pregnant women, to maintain a positive mindset and seek information about health, particularly regarding Covid-19 vaccination.

Abstract

Introduction: Only 7–13% of women say they need help or advice to overcome problems regarding sexual satisfaction; 40% of women do not even seek help from a doctor for their sexual complaints. Meanwhile, 54% reported that they only wanted to find a solution to the problem of sexual satisfaction without actually doing it. Purpose: to determine the effect of counseling on postpartum women's sexual satisfaction in the Puskesmas Kamonji working area. Method: The research was conducted in July–August 2023 with a one-group pretest-posttest design and a sample size of 49 women who had babies aged 2–6 months. Using the Wilcoxon consecutive sampling analysis technique. The results before being given counseling showed that 42.9% of respondents were sexually satisfied, but after being given counseling about sexual satisfaction, 57.3% of respondents felt sexually satisfied (p-value<0.001). Conclusion: There is a significant difference in sexual satisfaction before and after providing counseling about sexual satisfaction to respondents. It is recommended that health facilities provide counseling about providing for sexual needs periodically, from pregnancy to the postpartum period, and involve the roles of husband and family.

Abstract

Perineal wounds in postpartum mothers that do not heal promptly within several days can lead to infections. Nutritional status is also considered a crucial factor in the wound-healing process. Mothers with good nutritional status tend to experience faster healing of perineal wounds, including those with protein intake from processed soy milk. This research aims to determine the impact of soy milk consumption on the duration of perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers at the Independent Midwife Practice (IMP) Sriwati Palu. The study design employed a pre-experimental design with an Intact Group Comparison approach. The sample consisted of 16 postpartum mothers with second-degree perineal wounds at the IMP Sriwati Palu, selected through quota sampling. Univariate and bivariate analyses using the Mann-Whitney U test were conducted. The research findings indicate that respondents who consumed soy milk were four times more likely to experience faster healing compared to those who did not consume soy milk. The Mann-Whitney U test yielded a ρ-value of 0.000 (<0.05), suggesting a statistically significant influence of soy milk consumption on the duration of perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers at the IMP Sriwati Palu. In conclusion, soy milk consumption has a significant impact on the duration of perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers at the IMP Sriwati Palu.

Abstract

Background: The stunting tolerance level is 20% or one-fifth of the total number of children under the age of five years (WHO). Stunting was found to be more common in 24.1% of the Palu City area and 33.33% in the Nosarara Health Center. Indonesia has the highest prevalence of LBW at 11.1% after India at 27.6% and South Africa (13%). Data at the Nosarara Health Center in 2019 the incidence of LBW was 5 cases (2%), and in 2018 there were 6 cases (3%). LBW is a cause of stunting because of the difficulty of intrauterine growth when they are in the womb and will grow and develop slowly Objective: This study was to see whether there is a relationship between low birth weight (LBW) and stunting in children aged 12-59 months at the Nosarara Health Center. Methods: Case-control study with retrospective design. The study took place from 9-14 July 2020. The samples at the Nosarara Health Center were toddlers aged 12-59 months, with 33 cases and 33 controls. The sampling technique was total sampling, secondary data collection, univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test Results: Low birth weight (LBW) showed a significant relationship with the occurrence of stunting in children aged 12-59 months. Chi-square analysis produces a p-value of 0.00010.05 Conclusion: Low birth weight (LBW) has a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 12-59 months. It is hoped that health workers will revisit the active involvement of pregnant women in monitoring health developments during pregnancy, especially maternal nutritional intake.
