Abstract

Introduction Central Sulawesi is ranked 10th with 2.2% of sufferers. If optimal prevention is not carried out from the start, the wound will deteriorate rapidly, and the worst is amputation. One of the efforts that can be made to prevent DFU from occurring is to do foot care. Foot care in people with DM is an attempt to avoid disturbances in the feet which, if continued, can lead to amputation. The goal to be achieved from this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of cadres in conducting education about Foot Care for Patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the Working Area of the Talise Health Center. The method used in this activity is a combination of lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice methods. The media used to help convey material is a leaflet. The activity begins with the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. To find out the effectiveness of this activity, an apperception was carried out to measure the level of knowledge of the participants and at the end of the activity an evaluation was carried out by asking questions related to the material that had been presented and participants were asked to demonstrate DM foot care. Results The level of success in implementing this community service can be seen from the achievement of the number of participants, objectives and material targets. The number of participants who attended were 20 participants. Conclusion The purpose of the dedication was achieved, seen from the enthusiasm of the participants and at the end of the activity the participants were able to answer questions posed by the service team and were able to answer questions related to DM foot care. Suggestion It is hoped that the Talise Health Center will carry out similar activities on a regular basis and a larger number of participants so that all DM patients in the Talise Health Center work area have good knowledge and skills in performing foot care.

Abstract

Introduction Complete national routine immunization coverage is currently slowly increasing again after the COVID pandemic from 84% in 2019 to 94.9% in 2022. Indonesian children have been immunized. This increase was given a good score but not enough, because there are still around 5% or 240,000 Indonesian children who have not received additional protection from complete basic immunization, meaning these children are still at high risk of contracting diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I). The Ministry of Health targets 100 percent of babies to receive complete basic immunization (IDL) by 2023. This community service aims to provide knowledge to mothers of toddlers about complete basic immunization (0 to 11 months). This service method takes the form of counseling and giving leaflets to mothers of toddlers. This community service activity was carried out at Latulip Posyandu, Layana Village, Talise Health Center working area on June 21 2023. The target audience for this community service activity was all mothers with toddlers who live in Layana Village as the Talise Health Center Working Area, 18 mothers of toddlers. The results of the activity were the knowledge of mothers of toddlers about complete basic immunization after counseling, namely the majority with good knowledge, 15 participants (83.3%) and 3 participants (16.7%) with sufficient knowledge. The conclusion is that this community service activity can provide understanding to mothers of toddlers about complete basic immunization. Suggestions to the Talise Community Health Center to continue to increase community knowledge and provide motivation for mothers of toddlers to support the success of achieving complete basic immunization coverage according to the national target of 100 percent.

Abstract

Background: Noncommunicable diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes mellitus (DM), pose a significant global and national health burden. Patients with DM face a 2-4 times higher risk of CVD, the leading cause of mortality in over 65% of this population. Despite this, awareness and integrated screening for CVD risk among DM patients in primary healthcare settings, such as the Talise Health Center, remain limited. This community service initiative was designed to address this gap by implementing a comprehensive screening and personalized education program. Objective: This community service initiative aimed to detect CVD risk and provide targeted education to DM patients in the work area of the Talise Health Center. Methods: Methods: The activity was conducted on June 3, 2025, with 30 DM patients. The method involved a three-step process: (1) Screening of blood pressure, BMI, blood glucose, and cholesterol, with results plotted on the WHO/ISH risk prediction chart to stratify participants into low, moderate, or high 10-year CVD risk categories; (2) An educational session, comprising a pre-test, personalized counseling based on risk category, and a post-test to evaluate knowledge retention; (3) Dissemination of educational booklets and banners for sustained learning. Results: Screening revealed that 20 participants (66.7%) had low CVD risk, 9 (30.0%) had moderate risk, and 1 (3.3%) had high risk. The educational intervention was successful in reinforcing knowledge. The average knowledge score was increased at a high level (Pre-test score: 42,5.1% ± 10.2 vs. Post-test score: 82.0% ± 9.8).Conclusion and Suggestion: The finding that over one-third of screened DM patients were at moderate-to-high CVD risk underscores the critical need for integrated screening in primary care. Personalized counseling effectively maintained patient knowledge. It is strongly recommended that the Talise Health Center integrates routine CVD risk screening for all DM patients and continues providing targeted education to mitigate long-term cardiovascular complications.
