Abstract

Abstract

Education is one effort to overcome environmental problems. This effort needs to start by knowing the profile of students. This research aims to determine the literacy profile of students at SMP N 1 Pekalongan. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. The sample in this study was 122 students from class VII. This research indicator refers to NELA, an environmental literacy assessment project implemented in the United States. The data collection technique is through tests using the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey (MSELS). The test includes four indicators, namely: ecological knowledge, environmental problem-solving skills, attitudes and concern for the environment, and environmentally responsible behavior. Research data was analyzed descriptively based on achievement value criteria. The results of the research show that the environmental literacy level of students at SMP N 1 Pekalongan is 57.32, which is categorized as medium. The ecological knowledge indicator is 50.24 (fair), environmental problem-solving skills is 43.77 (fair), attitude and concern for the environment is 66.25 (good) and environmentally responsible behavior is 69.04 (good). Efforts need to be made so that students' environmental literacy at SMP N 1 Pekalongan in each indicator reaches the outstanding category.

Abstract

Along with the development of the era, the emergence of the free sex phenomenon that can have an impact on the reproductive health of students. This proves a decline in character that is not in accordance with the profile of Pancasila students. To improve the profile of Pancasila students, a learning device that is integrated with the Qur'an in the material of the Human reproductive system was developed. In this study, to determine the effectiveness of the biology learning device integrated with the Qur'an in the material of the human reproductive system can improve the profile of Pancasila students, especially in the dimension of critical reasoning skills. The learning device was developed in a development research or Research and Development (R & D) using the ADDIE design, in grade IX students of MTs Al Furqon. The samples used in the study were two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class using purposive sampling techniques. To measure the level of critical reasoning skillss of students using pre-test and post-test questions. The data analysis technique used N-Gain to determine the effectiveness of the learning device. The results of the N-Gain percentage of the experimental class were 65.58%, while for the control class it was 44.03%. The integrated biology learning device of the Qur'an on the Human Reproductive System Material is stated to be quite effective in improving the profile of Pancasila students in the critical reasoning dimension.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effects of different concentrations of Aloe vera as a natural plant growth regulator (PGR) on the growth of Dendrobium ‘Arif’ orchids. The observed parameters included root length, stem height, and shoot height as indicators of vegetative growth. The experiment employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments: a control (0%) and Aloe vera extract at concentrations of 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%, each with three replicates. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey’s HSD test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that Aloe vera had a significant effect on stem height (F = 2.712; p = 0.043) and root length (F = 5.896; p = 0.001), but no significant effect on shoot height (F = 0.359; p = 0.836). The 5% concentration produced the highest mean stem height (8.00 cm), exceeding that of the control (6.94 cm), 1% (6.89 cm), 3% (6.39 cm), and 7% (6.83 cm). For root length, the 5% concentration also yielded the highest value (8.98 cm), compared with 1% (7.76 cm), the control (6.40 cm), 7% (5.95 cm), and 3% (4.56 cm), and differed significantly according to Tukey’s HSD test. The non-significant response in shoot height suggests differences in physiological sensitivity among plant organs, with roots and stems being more responsive to auxins and gibberellins present in Aloe vera. Overall, Aloe vera extract shows potential as a natural PGR to support the vegetative growth of Dendrobium orchids, particularly in root and stem development.
