Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan hutan tropis terbesar dengan keanekaragaman tumbuhan yang tinggi. Selain keanekaragaman tumbuhan, Indonesia juga kaya dengan keanekaragaman Etnis dan budaya. Berbagai Etnis memanfaatkan tumbuhan sebagai etnomedisin dengan keunikan ramuan dan cara penyajiannya masing-masing (kearifan lokal). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi tumbuhan obat dari famili zingiberaceae, bagian yang digunakan dan cara meramu tumbuhan obat oleh masyarakat etnis lampung pesisir Tanggamus Provinsi Lampung. Metode pemilihan informan yang digunakan dalam observasi ini adalah metode “Purposive sampling”dan “Snowball sampling”, dalam hal ini menggunakan informan/orang yang dianggap paling tahu tentang tumbuhan dan orang yang dituakan (ulun tuha/natuha). Penentuan lokasi sampling berdasarkan etnis Lampung pesisir yang banyak berdomisili di 3 desa Kecamatan Semaka yaitu Desa Bangunrejo, Desa Sukaraja, dan Desa Kanoman. Hasil penelitian terdapat 13 spesies tumbuhan. Bagian tumbuhan yang digunakan sebagai bahan ramuan obat berupa rimpang/akar dan buah. Lokasi ditemukannya tumbuhan tersebar di pekarangan, ladang/kebun dan perbatasan hutan. Cara penggunaan tanaman obat dapat diminum/dimakan (pemakaian dalam), diusap, diparem dan dikompres (pemakaian luar). Tumbuhan tersebut dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pangan/bumbu dapur, obat-obatan dan sarana ritual. Kajian botani menunjukkan famili Zingiberaceae lebih dominan dengan habitus herba. Kajian etnomedisin menunjukkan bahwa famili ini lebih cenderung digunakan dalam menambah nafsu makan, stamina, melahirkan. Kajian etnoekonomi memperlihatkan bahwa beberapa spesies telah memiliki nilai ekonomi dan ada juga yang tidak memiliki nilai ekonomi karena belum diperdagangkan. Kajian etnoantropologi menunjukkan bahwa beberapa spesies dari famili ini dipercaya dapat mengusir mahluk halus dan energi negatif.

Abstract

Bandar Lampung City has a population of 1.051.500 people with a density of 3.308,4 people/km2 in 2018. The population is densely accompanied by residential developments, one of which is housing. Housing in the city of Bandar Lampung amounted to 220 housing estates in 2018 consisting of types 21, 36, 45.54, and 70. Rapidly increasing development certainly affected the surrounding ecosystem. The ant is one indicator of change in the environment. Therefore it is important to research the identification of Myrmicinae ants in three types of housing in Bandar Lampung City. The research was conducted in November - October 2018. This type of research is quantitative with survey methods. The housing of each type is selected by random sampling then ant samples are taken using the standardized transect method. Two transects were installed in the yard of the house and a roadside transect. The ants obtained were identified using photographs, images and the key of determination. The results showed that there were 5 species of Myrmicinae from 3 genera namely Solenopsis geminata, Solenopsis invicta, Solenopsis molest, Tetramorium sp., and Monomorium sp. The most dominant subfamily Formicidae habitats are in the house and terrace house.

Abstract

The area of rubber land in Indonesia currently reaches 3,672,213 ha which can produce 3,229,861 tons/year. The price of rubber in Indonesia is currently cheap because of low-quality latex. The low quality of latex is caused by the large production costs, one of which is the price of latex clotting material which is relatively expensive. Therefore, this studied aims to find a good alternative to latex coagulant but at low cost. Latex clumping material used in this research were noni juice and star fruit. The treatment in this study used noni juice and star fruit juice concentration of 5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml, and 20 ml, respectively. The results showed the weight of latex with noni emulsifying agents increased by 45.58% while the administration of star fruit juice was not much different, amounting to 45.70%. However, the final weight of latex given by the emulsifying agent in the form of star fruit was higher than Noni with the difference at the highest weight reached 4.23 grams. The fastest latex clumping time at 20 ml star fruit concentration is 1.18 minutes. Based on research results noni juice and star fruit potential as a latex clot.

Abstract

Pangasius djambal is one of the popular fish. The obstacle in this fish culture is the presence of bacterial attack, which is thought to originate from the waters where the fish live. This study aims to determine the differences in the number of bacteria found in the body of P djambal that are cultivated in ponds and those that live in rivers. Based on research, it is known that the number of bacteria found in the body of fish originating from rivers is more than the number of bacteria originating from ponds. The results showed the number of bacteria in the gills of fish from river reached 250 x 107 Cfu/g and in mucus 199 x 107 Cfu/g. While the number of fish bacteria originating from ponds in the gills section is 204 x 107 Cfu/g and in the mucus section is 131x107 Cfu/g.

Abstract

An environmentally friendly agricultural system with organic fertilizer is used to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, thus producing healthy agricultural products for consumption. Liquid organic fertilizer from bamboo shoots is an alternative substitute for chemical fertilizers in the planting of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustescens L.) hydroponically. This study aims to determine the effect of bamboo shoot liquid organic fertilizer on hydroponic cayenne pepper pre-antithesis growth. The study was conducted at the Biology Laboratory of UIN Raden Intan Lampung, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments with 3 replications. The treatments included negative control (water), positive control (AB mix), P1 = 10%, P2 = 15%, P3 = 20%, P4 = 25% ml. The parameters include plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, plant fresh weight. Data were analyzed using One Way Anova (SPSS 17.0), followed by LSD at the 5% level. The results show the effect of treatment on all parameters. Control positive (AB mix) gave the best results on all parameters, then successively treated P4, P3, P2, P1, K0 (negative control). Although not as good as using an AB mix solution, the administration of bamboo shoots POC with a concentration of 25% can support the growth of hydroponic cayenne pre-synthesis.

Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of malaria in Lampung Province was increased in the last few years. One of the factors contributes to the increased rate is the widespread of the Plasmodium falciparum resistance to antimalarial drugs. Mutation on the gene encoding Pfcrt protein has been reported to be correlated with this resistance.Objectives: To fi nd out the frequency and distribution of the pfcrt gene polymorphism among Plasmodium falciparum in malaria patients in endemic area at Bandar Lampung and Lampung Selatan, LampungProvince.Methods: Blood samples were collected from malaria falciparum patients in Bandar Lampung and Lampung Selatan by active and passive case detections. Two to three mL of venous blood were collected in tubes with EDTA, and kept in the temperature of -200C before DNA extraction. DNA from each sample was extracted using Guanidine isothiocyanate and Chelex 100 methods. Genes encoding Pfcrt protein were amplifi ed by Nested PCR using TCRP and TCRD primers. The polymorphism of the pfcrt gene was identified by cutting the PCR product using Apo1 restriction enzymes to produce 100bp and 34bp fragments.Results: Forty six samples from P. falciparum-infected patients were collected from the two areas. The genes encoding the Pfcrt protein were succesfully amplifi ed, all 46 PCR products showed 100bp and 34bpfragments after incubation with Apo1 restriction enzyme. It indicated that pfcrt polymorphism was 100%.Conclusion: The frequency of pfcrt gene polymorphisms in patients with malaria falciparum in Bandar Lampung and Lampung Selatan was 100%.Keywords: malaria falciparum, pfcrt, chloroquine, polymorphism

Abstract

Komunitas penyandang cacat, khususnya komunitas tunarungu di Bandar Lampung jumlahnya cukup banyak, yaitu 114 orang. Komunitas ini masih membutuhkan perhatian dari berbagai lapisan masyarakat agar mereka memiliki keterampilan untuk hidup mandiri. Telur adalah salah satu makanan yang dikonsumsi oleh banyak orang Indonesia. Sekitar 10% bagian dari teluradalah cangkang. Provinsi Lampung, khususnya Kota Bandar Lampung berpotensi untuk menghasilkan limbah kulit telur. Setiap hari, sekitar 24.700 kg telur digunakan di Bandar Lampung dengan potensi kulit telur mencapai 2.470 kg. Oleh karena itu, limbah cangkang telur bisa dimanfaatkan oleh komunitas tunarungu untuk fortifikasi berbagai penganan sehingga memiliki nilai tawar yang berbeda dengan produk sejenis. Strategi penerapan kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan empat tahapan, yaitu persiapan, implementasi, pelatihan, danpemantauan. Kegiatan pemberdayaan yang dilaksanakan oleh tim pengabdi dari Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung dalam mengolah limbah cangkang telur sebagai bahan yang difortifikasi ke berbagai penganan dirasakan memberikan manfaat bagi komunitas tunarungu di Kota Bandar Lampung karena mereka dapat berwirausaha.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan strategi brainstorming dalam mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains dan sikap spiritual siswa pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati di SMA Negeri 5 Metro, Lampung. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari (60) siswa. Sampel didistribusikan ke dalam dua kelas, yang pertama mewakili kelompok eksperimen berjumlah (30) siswa diajarkan melalui strategi brainstorming melalui kursus mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains siswa dan sikap spiritual, dan yang kedua mewakili kelompok kontrol berjumlah (30) siswa. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah rencana pembelajaran menggunakan strategi curah pendapat, tes keterampilan proses sains, skala penilaian sikap spiritual, dan lembar observasi untuk keterampilan proses sains. Kedua validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen diperiksa oleh peneliti. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan statistik yang signifikan pada tingkat (α = 0,05) antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dalam hal skor rata-rata keterampilan proses sains dan sikap spiritual siswa. Dalam penelitian ini diketahui bahwa strategi brainstorming efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains dan sikap spiritual siswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merekomendasikan penggunaan strategi ini, terutama di SMA 5 Metro, Lampung. Juga, kita dapat menggunakan strategi di sekolah lain dalam konteks pembelajaran yang relevan dengan temuan penelitian ini.
