Abstract

The overuse of chemical fertilizers can have detrimental effects on soil quality. It is important for farmers to find sustainable alternatives. One possible solution being explored is the use of liquid maggot derived from organic sources. This study aimed to determine the most suitable composition that fulfills plant needs and follows established guidelines. The research approach employed a qualitative descriptive method to assess the impacts of three treatments using different types of organic matter: fruit waste, restaurant waste, and palm oil cake. Phosphorus and potassium concentrations were determined through MP-AES analysis while nitrogen content was measured using the Kjeldahl method. The findings revealed that only the treatments involving fruit waste and restaurant waste met the recommended potassium levels. However, these treatments fell short of meeting requirements for other essential nutrients. As a result, additional research is needed to assess nutrient concentrations in different organic substances.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is rich in plants, one of which is leaf drop shit (Tagetes erecta) which has the potential as a vegetable insecticide. Diverse local plants will be very good if integrated in learning through modules so that they can help preserve local plants. The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the effect of Tahitian Kotok (T. erecta) leaf extract on the mortality of Aedes sp. Mosquitoes. (2) determine the concentration of leaf extract of Tahitian Kotok (T. erecta) which can influence the mortality of Aedes sp. (3) compile teaching materials in the form of modules. Methods: This research is an experiment that is giving treatment and observation of Aedes sp. with 3 extractions of Kotok Tahi (T. erecta) leaves and 1 control treatment. The study was conducted with 4 replications, each: treatment 1 (0.5%), treatment 2 (1.3%), and treatment 3 (2%). The results of experimental research are then used as a basis for making modules and their feasibility tested. Results: Based on the research data there is a very significant effect on mortality resulting from each given extraction concentration. Based on research at a concentration of 2%, the highest mortality effect from Aedes sp. that is, with an average of 92.5% with 37 deaths from 40 mosquitoes. Kotok (T erecta) leaf extraction can be used as an alternative in controlling Aedes sp. Conclusion: The results of the study can be used as learning resources in the form of modules and are feasible to use with the validation results of 85.2%.

Abstract

Eco-enzyme solutions are generally used in the manufacture of disinfectants, floor cleaners, liquid fertilizers, preservatives and others. In this study, eco-enzyme was used as the main ingredient in the manufacture of biogas fermentation with the addition of cow feces as an additional starter in the fermentation. The aim of this study was to determine the content of CH4, CO2, N2, pH, temperature, and pressure in eco-enzyme fermentation with the addition of cow feces starter.  his research is a quantitative research with the type of experimental research as well as direct observation data collection techniques and data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the treatment that produced the highest methane (CH4) gas was the P5 treatment with a concentration of 2.889%. 6,1. The highest volume pressure value was produced in the P5 treatment which was 70 ml. Nitrogen gas (N2) and carbon dioxide gas (CO2), the concentration of nitrogen gas (N2) from reactor P0 - P4 is in the range of 95.875-99.669 % and the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) from reactor P0 - P4 is in the range of 0.237 - 4.125 %.

Abstract

Keanekagaman hayati di Indonesia menyediakan berbagai macam tumbuhan obat tradisional. Tumbuhan obat tradisional memiliki banyak khasiat, salah satunya sebagai antimikroba dan antioksidan. Tumbuhan obat tradisional yang dapat kita temui antara lain kemangi (Ocium basilicum L.) dan mangkokan (Nothopanax scutellarium). Kandungan antimikroba dan antioksidan pada kedua jenis tanaman ini juga akan membantu dalam proses penyembuhan luka sayat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menenemukan formulasi antiseptik berbahan dasar ekstrak kemangi dan daun mangkokan untuk penyembuhan luka sayat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimental. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok lengkap dengan 2 kelompok perlakuan yang masing-masing terdiri dari 4 konsentrasi berbeda dan ulang sebanyak 3 kali. Data divalidasi dengan adanya kontrol positif berupa cairan antiseptik Betadine dan kontrol negatif tanpa diberi perlakuan apapun. Data dianalisisis secara deskriptif untuk mendapatkan nilai rata-rata kemudian ditabulasi dalam tabel serta diinterpretasikan. Hasil penelitian evaluasi sediaan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian cairan antiseptik berbahan dasar ekstrak kedua tumbuhan layak untuk diujicobakan berdasarkan hasil uji organoleptik warna dan aroma serta pH. Hasil uji coba pada mencit memberikan pengaruh positif pada penyembuhan luka sayat yang ditandai dengan berkurangnya panjang tersebut dan memiliki tingkat kesembuhan yang sama dengan kontrol positif. Namun, antara kedua perlakuan ekstrak tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang berarti.

Abstract

One of the sub-districts in the East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) district of South Sumatra, namely Buay Madang Timur, the people are migrants (transmigrants), especially from the Javanese tribe and still preserve the traditional ritual of the Panggih Temanten marriage. The aim of the study was to determine the various kinds of plant families used in the traditional rituals of Panggih Temanten Javanese people in Buay Madang District, East OKU Regency, South Sumatra. This research is a qualitative type with sampling using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection through structured interviews to selected respondents. The results showed that there were 13 families consist of Arecaceae, Musaceae, Asparagaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Moraceae, Rosaceae, Annonaceae, Nyitaginaceae, Rubiaceae, Asteraceae, Magnoliaceae, Piperaceae, and Oleaceae. Abstract

Germplasm which is abundant in Indonesia, 23% of which are medicinal plants. One of the medicinal plants is rosella because it contains various compounds that are proven to be natural antioxidants, anticancer, antihypertensive, laxative, and natural antidiuretic. Herbal medicines are often consumed as functional drinks. Rosella can be processed into functional drinks, one of which is kombucha. The length of fermentation of kombucha can affect the content in it. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The treatments given were 3, 6, 9, and 12 days of fermentation. Parameters measured included vitamin C content, total lactic acid, antioxidant activity, total microbes, and pH. The results showed that the highest vitamin C content was 0.0528 mg/mL on days 3 and 6, the highest total lactic acid was 1.7250% on day 12, the best antioxidant activity was on day 9 with a very strong category, the highest total bacteria was 5.96x107 CFU/mL on day 12 12th, the highest total yeast 11.54x106 Log CFU/mL on the 6th day, the highest pH of 2.70 on the 3rd day.Keywords: kombucha, rosella, vitamin C, antioxidant

Abstract

Microplastics are durable and contain harmful compounds that can be absorbed into the soil and enter the food chain, posing a risk to human health and the environment. One of the efforts to reduce its impact is to utilize bacteria as biodegradation agents. The purpose of this study was to isolate and characterize microplastic degrading bacteria from three landfills in Lampung Province, and determine their degradation rate. The research method used a quantitative descriptive approach, including the isolation stage with the pouring technique, degradation tests using Polystyrene, Polyethylene Terepthalate, and Polyethylene measuring 1x1 cm and identification using Vitek-2. The results of the study from nine bacterial isolates that were successfully purified, three of them showed the highest ability to degrade. The weight reduction result on PS plastic sample was 22.2% by Bacillus circulans, PET sample was 15.9% by Pandoraea spp. and PE sample was 36.2% by Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.

Abstract

One of the main causes of problems in the Final Processing Site (TPA) of Lampung Province is the increasing pile of plastic waste produced by human activities. This can be a source of microplastic pollution and is dangerous if it settles in the body of organisms. Fungi can be an alternative to help the natural biodegradation process reduce microplastic pollution in the soil ecosystem. This study aims to identify and characterize fungal isolates that can degrade microplastics in the Final Processing Site (TPA) of Lampung Province. The sampling method was purposive sampling. The growing colonies were identified by observing the clear zone, then characterized morphologically. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive methods and measuring the clear zone index. This study successfully identified 13 fungal isolates that showed clear zone areas. Four isolates (Ba1.2, Ba2.5, Bu3.4, Ka2.3) could degrade three types of microplastics. The highest clear zone: Bu3.4 for PET (2,00 mm), Ka2.4 for PE (1,50 mm), and Ba2.3 and Ba2.5 for PP (1,25 mm). Identification and morphological characterization showed 8 isolates belonging to the genus Aspergillus, 3 isolates of Penicillium, 1 isolate of Fusarium, and 1 isolate of Sclerotium. Degradation occurs through hyphal adhesion and secretion of polymer-degrading enzymes.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kulit buah kakao merupakan hasil sampingan buah kakao yang sering tidak dimanfaatkan yang nantinya akan menjadi limbah sehingga dapat menimbulkan dampak pencemaran lingkungan. Produktifitas kulit buah kakao cukup melimpah di Lampung, pada tahun 2012 kulit buah kakao yang dihasilkan mencapai 2.451,52 ton per tahun, di Kabupaten Tanggamus pada tahun 2009 mencapai 4.308 ton, dan di Dusun Sumber Sari pada tahun 2013 mencapai 217 kg per bulan. Ketersedian kulit buah kakao yang banyak, perlu dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak alternatif dengan cara difermentasi terlebih dahulu untuk meningkatkan nilai gizinya. Salah satu ternak yang dapat diberikan pakan ini adalah entok (Cairina muschata).Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan kulit buah kakaofermentasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan dosis penggunaan pakan yang tepat untuk ternak entok (Cairina muschata). Penelitian dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Pakan kulit buah kakao fermentasi (K) dengan 4 taraf perlakauan dengan 5 kali pengulangan: K0 = Dedak 100% (kontrol), K1 = 75%/90 gr dedak dan 25%/30gr kulit kakao fermentasi, K2 = 50%/60 gr dedak dan 50%/60 gr kulit kakao fermentasi, dan K3 = 25%/30 gr dedak dan 75%/90 gr kulit kakao fermentasi. Parameter yang diamati adalah: tinggi tubuh entok, panjang tubuh entok, dan berat tubuh entok. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakanAnova dan  jika berbeda nyata maka dilakukan uji lanjut LSD pada taraf 5%.Dari hasil analisis pakan kulit kakao fermentasi dosis yang paling baik pada semua parameter adalah perlakuan K2 dengan rata-rata 42,40 cm untuk tinggi entok, 47,40 cm untuk panjang entok dan 1596 gram untuk berat entok.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan suatu modal penting bagi seseorang untuk menjalani kehidupannya. Penelitian pada kali ini juga dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya rataan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik. Hasil belajar yang rendah tersebut disebabkan karena tingkat pemahaman konsep yang kurang sehingga nilai yang diperoleh peserta didik banyak yang tidak memuaskan. Selain kemampuan untuk memahami, hubungan kerjasama dan tingkat kecerdasan antar peserta didik yang masih kurang tersebut bisa membuat proses pembelajaran menjadi kurang kondusif. Kecerdasan ini belum dimunculkan saat proses pembelajaran, karena salah satu contoh kecerdasan antar pribadi adalah kemampuan untuk memahami dan bekerjasama satu sama lain. Salah satu strategi yang bisa digunakan adalah dengan menerapkan strategi joyfull learning atau pembelajaran yang menyenangkan menggunakan mind map.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh strategi joyfull learning dengan teknik mind map terhadap hasil belajar kognitif khususnya materi sistem ekskresi di SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung. Jenis penelitian quasy eksperimental dengan jenis nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelas yang diperoleh menggunakan tehnik Cluster Random Sampling. Kelas eksperimen XI IPA 1 dan kelas kontrol XI IPA 3. Teknik pengumpulan data observasi, tes (pretest dan posttest) dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan perhitungan uji t independent dengan sampel tidak berkorelasi diperoleh bahwa thitung =3,625 dan ttabel =2,001. Hal ini berarti bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh strategi joyfull learning dengan teknik mind map terhadap hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung pada materi sistem ekskresi setelah diberi perlakuan. Peningkatan hasil belajar tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal seperti penggunaan strategi pembelajaran juga disebabkan oleh faktor internal seperti kemampuan kognitif yang bisa mempengaruhi daya ingat pada peserta didik saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung.
