Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the project-based learning (PBL) model in improving critical-reflective thinking skills in students. The PBL model was applied to two groups of students: an experimental group that followed project-based learning and a control group that followed conventional learning. This study used an experimental design with a pre-test and post-test to measure changes in critical-reflective thinking skills. Data were also collected through observation sheets and students' reflective journals. The results showed that the experimental group that applied the PBL model experienced a significant increase in critical-reflective thinking skills, with a significant difference in pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the control group that followed conventional learning did not show a significant change. Analysis of the reflective journal showed that students in the experimental group were able to identify strengths and weaknesses in their thinking process, as well as evaluate the solutions they chose in the project. Based on these results, it can be concluded that project-based learning is effective in improving students' critical-reflective thinking skills, as well as encouraging active involvement and collaboration. This study recommends the use of the PBL model as an alternative to improving critical-reflective thinking skills in higher education.

Abstract

This research addresses the persistent difficulties students face in developing story ideas, creating interesting plots, describing characters and settings, and composing well-structured sentences. Consequently, these pose learning obstacles in Indonesian short story writing. Although innovative learning methods and technology have been implemented, the fundamental challenge lies in students' abilities to organize ideas logically and structurally in the writing process. This condition is reinforced by the results of the PISA study which indicates that Indonesian students' writing literacy skills are still below the OECD average, indicating the need for a learning approach that focuses not only on linguistic aspects, but also on developing students' cognitive abilities in solving problems and thinking in a structured manner. Computational Thinking (CT) is presented as a potential solution, to be implemented in the story outlining process by breaking down the complex story ideas into smaller parts (decomposition), identifying patterns in narratives (pattern recognition), focusing on important elements (abstraction), and designing structured writing steps (algorithm). This study aims to develop CT-based short story writing skills in elementary school students, hoping to facilitate their systematic application of CT components in the writing process. The Research and Development (R&D) method used in this study comprises the following stages: problem identification, initial data collection, product design, expert validation, design revision, limited trials, product revision, classroom usage trials, final product revision, and dissemination. This study involves 5th grade students of Cita Hati Christian Elementary School. Data were collected through observation, the rubric used for assessing outlines and short stories (in Flipbook format), and student-survey responses after the learning activity. The results of the study showed that the integration of CT in learning materials and the short story writing process had a positive impact on students’ ability to produce more structured and creative writing. Students demonstrated improved short story writing abilities and responded positively to the CT approach in Indonesian language learning. Thus, the development of CT-based learning materials has effectively empowered students to think logically and systematically when planning, composing, and developing their short stories

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and academic stress among students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving 72 students. The research instruments consisted of a self-efficacy scale and an academic stress scale. At the same time, data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test with the aid of SPSS version 26. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic stress, with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.582 and a significance value (p) of 0.00 (<0.05). This indicates that the higher the students’ self-efficacy, the lower their level of academic stress. Conversely, students with lower self-efficacy tend to experience higher academic stress. This study concludes that self-efficacy is important in reducing academic stress among students. The implications of thesefindings highlight the crucial role of academic advisors and educational counselors in designing guidance programs and psychological interventions to enhance students’ self-efficacy as a preventive measure against academic stress.

Abstract

Abstract In the context of education in the digital era, many students experience increased stress due to high academic demands and distractions from the use of digital technology. The use of digital devices, although it provides many advantages, also increases the risk of impaired concentration and student learning motivation. This participatory webinar aims to implement mindful learning in counseling services. The service design uses participatory webinars, integrates the principles of Community-Based Participatory Research, and maximizes the interaction and involvement of 290 participants consisting of lecturers, teachers, and BK students. The activity was carried out online on March 8-10, 2025. The results showed the effectiveness of the webinar in improving the understanding and skills of BK teachers about mindful learning, with a significant increase after the webinar. This implementation has a positive impact on clients, including increasing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships. The contribution of the activity is related to the development of a collaborative network between BK teachers, while the implications of the activity are related to the development of ongoing training and mentoring programs for BK teachers.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning menjadi aspek penting dalam mendukung kemandirian belajar siswa, terutama di lingkungan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara efikasi diri dan self-regulated learning pada siswa SMK 2 Kawung Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 51 siswa yang dipilih secara acak, dengan instrumen berupa kuesioner yang telah divalidasi dan reliabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara efikasi diri dan self-regulated learning dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,507 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi efikasi diri siswa, maka semakin tinggi pula kemampuan mereka dalam mengatur pembelajaran secara mandiri. Kesimpulannya, efikasi diri merupakan faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan self-regulated learning siswa SMK, yang pada akhirnya mendukung keberhasilan akademik dan kesiapan menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja.

Abstract

The existence of a school in the middle of the city adjacent to the free world makes the level of hedonism high. So that the formulation of the problem is there any effect of using the rebt approach in group counseling on the hedonism of students. This study aims to determine the effect of using the rebt approach in group counseling on the hedonism of class XI MIA students at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. In this study, a pre-experimental quantitative approach was used in the form of a one-group pre-test post-test design. The population of this research is the students of class XI MIA 1 PUTRI SMAM X Surabaya, with a sample of 8 students of class XI who have a high level of hedonism. The samples were taken through purposive sampling technique with the hedonism scale data collection method. The data analysis method is used by non-parametric statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The level of hedonism of students before being treated in the form of group counseling services with the rebt approach was in the high category with an average score of 85 then after being treated the group counseling service with the rebt approach was in the medium category with an average score of 64. The results of interpretation using the wilcoxon test can be seen Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) is worth 0.012. Where the value of 0.012 is smaller than <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of group counseling services with a rebt approach on the hedonism of class XI MIA 1 Putri SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya.

Abstract

Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan resiliensi siswa melalui pelatihan impact konseling melalui layanan konseling yang diberikan oleh guru bimbingan dan konseling. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dalam bentuk ceramah, FGD, role playing dan refleksi. Hasil pelatihan diperoleh data kepuasan guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengikuti pelatihan.

Abstract

Meskipun hanya sedikit siswa yang mengaku menyontek, perilaku ini tetap perlu diperhatikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengurangi perilaku menyontek pada siswa kelas VII-G SMP Negeri 6 Surabaya melalui layanan bimbingan klasikal dengan teknik brainstorming dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Menggunakan pendekatan PTBK dua siklus, hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan skor posttest (rata-rata kenaikan 10,69; SD = 3,14; t(28) = -18,33; p < 0,001). Temuan ini membuktikan efektivitas layanan bimbingan klasikal dalam menumbuhkan kejujuran akademik dan pentingnya keterampilan sosial-emosional sebagai upaya preventif.

Abstract

Sikap aktualisasi diri guru bimbingan dan konseling merupakan aspek penting yang perlu dikembangkan dalam upaya mewujudkan pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling yang bermutu kepada peserta didik. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi multifaktor yaitu faktor penghargaan, pujian, dan suasana kerja terhadap pengembangan sikap aktualisasi diri guru bimbingan dan konseling setelah mengikuti program pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan model pelatihan strategi self-management yang dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap yaitu tahap pertama pendalaman materi, tahap kedua simulasi, dan tahap ketiga pemberian tugas yang diikuti oleh peserta yaitu guru bimbingan dan konseling SMP dan SMA sederajat. Pada tahap pendalaman materi, peserta pengabdian menunjukkan perilaku aktif dalam mencermati materi yang dipresentasikan oleh narasumber melalui pertanyaan, tanggapan, dan argumentasi yang kritis. Pada tahap simulasi, secara kelompok peserta pengabdian melakukan praktik self-management pada konseling kelompok dan bimbingan kelompok yang teramati dan mendapatkan balikan dari narasumber. Sedangkan pada tahap penugasan, peserta pengabdian diberikan tugas untuk mengembangkan model verbatim praksis strategi self-management dalam konseling kelompok melalui google form. Setelah kegiatan selesai tim pengabdian melakukan evaluasi kepada peserta dengan menggunakan kuesioner melalui google form yang hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi faktor penghargaan sebesar 80,26%, faktor pujian sebesar 83,66%, dan faktor suasana kerja sebesar 97,05% terhadap pengembangan sikap aktualisasi diri guru bimbingan dan konseling.

Abstract

Kerjasama pada anak usia dini merupakan keterampilan sosial yang sangat penting untuk perkembangan sosial, emosi dan kognitif anak. Melalui kerjasama, anak dapat membangun hubungan yang sehat dengan orang lain, mengembangkan keterampilan sosial yang kuat dan meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam mencapai tujuan bersama. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas play terapi menggunakan permainan lego untuk meningkatkan kerjasama anak di TK Lintang Surabaya. Observasi awal yang dilakukan di TK Lintang menunjukkan bahwa perilaku yang selalu ingin menonjol, menang sendiri dan tidak mau mengalah masih muncul pada anak-anak. Untuk menyikapi hal tersebut, maka dilakukan suatu teknik play terapi menggunakan permainan lego untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kerjasama anak. Adapun metode yang dilakukan ialah menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskrisptif dan subyek penelitian ialah siswa TK B yang ada di TK Lintang Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan permainan lego dalam play terapi efektif dalam meningkatkan kerjasama pada anak.
