Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategies of Islamic religious education teachers in fostering student discipline at SMP N 4 Padang Kampung Pondok, Padang Barat District, Padang City. This research is a qualitative approach research, data sources are taken from all informants using primary and secondary data. To obtain interview results, this study used interview guidelines as a research instrument. Data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. As for the validity of the data that researchers use is triangulation (source triangulation and data triangulation) to produce data that can be accounted for. The results showed first, the PAI teacher's strategy in teaching discipline there are three teaching strategies used, namely making clear and comprehensive rules, strengthening character education programs, and building relationships approach. Second, the PAI teacher's strategy to foster student discipline awareness has two strategies in fostering student discipline awareness, namely through exemplary and training habituation. Third, the PAI teacher's strategy in supervising students' disciplinary behavior has three strategies, namely making a learning contract, applying punitive sanctions and rewarding.

Abstract

The phenomenon of declining student ethics in today's educational environment reflects a serious challenge among education leaders, teachers, and students. This has implications for the quality of education. The damage to ethics, manners, and behavior is concerning, indicating a lack of attention to moral education in the present era. The aim of this research is to describe Mu’allim (teacher) and Muta’allim (student) according to Imam An-Nawawi, and to explain the relevance of these etiquettes to moral education in the current era. The research method employed is qualitative, specifically the library research type. The research findings are expected to serve as a guide for educators and learners in maintaining proper conduct in the educational environment. Imam An-Nawawi's thoughts on the ethics of teachers and students prove to be relevant to contemporary moral education. The implementation of moral conduct in the education sector needs attention to uphold moral values and ethics, shape the character of the younger generation, and prevent moral damages detrimental to education.

Abstract

This research aims to incorporate the Cooperative Script Learning Model into Islamic Religious Education subjects. In addition, this research also proposes a comprehensive conceptual framework for teaching students to overcome problems related to student focus. This initiative aims to involve students in the learning process, as implemented by elementary school teachers. This research uses a qualitative thematic methodology to investigate the phenomenon under study. Data was collected through structured interviews with 26 elementary school participants. Informant data using snowball sampling technique. The findings of this research indicate that there are several variables that impact student learning outcomes, in addition to the influence of student skills and the learning approach chosen by the instructor. The results of this research can be basic data for further research that explores the Cooperative Script Learning Model in Schools in various contexts and aspects.

Abstract

This study examines the improvement of self-control among high school students in Padang City: from the perspective of Islamic religious education. This research aims to explore the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in enhancing the self-control of students in high schools in Padang City from the perspective of Islamic religious education. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that Islamic religious education teachers at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang make various efforts to improve students' self-control in the aspects of Behavior Control and Cognitive Control. In terms of Behavior Control, teachers use religious activities, character formation through the subject of faith and morals, as well as teaching the moral values of Islam. In terms of Cognitive Control, teachers apply active learning, remedial and enrichment programs, motivation, and student development. The results of this study show that the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang in improving students' self-control have had a positive impact, as students develop the ability to regulate behavior, control emotions, and make good decisions. Supporting factors in improving students' self-control include well-programmed religious activities, school and teacher support, and a conducive environment. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include academic pressure, negative peer influence, and an unsupportive environment. This research provides deeper insights and understanding of the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in improving students' self-control in high schools in Padang City, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence this process. This study can serve as a reference for further research and provide practical benefits in enhancing students' self-control through an Islamic religious education approach.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the perspective of Islamic education in viewing the rain charmer phenomenon. Researchers used qualitative methods with a qualitative descriptive approach. The informants in this study were 15 people consisting of Wali Nagari Sikucua Timur, Pawang Rain, Community Leaders, Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders, Bundo Kanduang, and the Matua Koto Hilalang Nagari Sikucua Timur Community, Padang Pariaman Regency, which the researchers selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data obtained will then be analyzed using data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman, namely reducing data, displaying data, and drawing conclusions from the data. The results of this study prove that the profession of rain handler in Nagari Sikucua Timur, Padang Pariaman Regency teaches us to keep asking God as well as teaches us to help others without expecting anything in return and teaches us to be trustworthy in the work that has been entrusted. If you look at the substance of the implementation using the recitation of bismillah, sholawat, and dhikr, this aims to propagate Islamic symbols.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to reveal the contribution of the surau and tarekat to traditional Islamic education in Minangkabau in the 20th century AD. This research is a field research with qualitative methods and with historical and sociological analysis approaches. The results of this study conclude that traditional Islamic education in Minangkabau cannot be separated from the history of Islamization of Minangkabau itself, which is carried out through the Surau institution with the study of the Kitab Kuning (yellow book) and the teachings of its tarekats. However, at the beginning of the 20th century AD, the role of Surau was challenged by the modernization movement of Islamic education brought by young ulama. The existence of public schools established by the Dutch also further eliminates the educational position of the Surau.

Abstract

This paper describes how to improve the quality of education. This research is library research, analyzed qualitatively because there is an interest in interpretation and seeking meaning from written texts in literary sources. Schools must play a role in helping students learn about values so that they know and can understand good values, schools must stimulate and foster students' moral awareness so that they have an awareness of values, and schools must also provide space, assistance, and supervision to students to do and work on good values. Quality management and organizational commitment are very important related to the quality of education. In the Quran, the word commitment corresponds to the word إعتصام which can be found 14 times in repetition in several verses and letters and can be interpreted as maintaining, protecting, or holding fast (istamsaka). Management is synonymous with the word "dabbara, Yudabbiru, tadbiran" which means to direct, manage, implement, run, regulate and take care of. Quality is the realization of the principle of ihsan(احسان), in the form of giving goodness to anything and anyone, and avoiding damage in any form Improving the quality of education can be done by increasing the role of schools and educational institutions with a strategy of preparing character leadership, human resource development, and character-based education.

Abstract

Pasar Raya Padang is known as an area bustling with activity, hosting various institutions such as mosques serving as places of worship, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) enforcing local regulations, specifically Padang City Regulation Number 11 of 2005 concerning Public Order and Community Tranquility in relation to Article 10 Paragraph (2) on prostitution, and the local police (Polresta) who act as the frontline defense against prostitution practices. However, the phenomenon of prostitution can still be found in the area, highlighting the complexities in monitoring and social control over behaviors that contradict social and religious norms. This study aims to describe the role of mosques in Pasar Raya Padang in providing knowledge about the dangers of prostitution through various aspects, including legal aspects, dangers, and social impacts. This research employs qualitative methods, utilizing in-depth interviews and observations in several mosques in the area. The findings reveal that mosques around Pasar Raya Padang play a crucial role in educating the public about the dangers of prostitution through various aspects, including legal perspectives, dangers, and social impacts.

Abstract

One of the strategic steps to realize religious moderation is through the Merdeka Student Exchange program abbreviated as PMM. The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe how the process of strengthening religious moderation through the PMM program at Padang State University. Religious moderation based on the PMM program is a point of emphasis and an aspect of novelty that has not been revealed in previous research. This research is a field research using qualitative methods. The results found that strengthening religious moderation in PMM students was carried out in three stages: First, the Module Lecturer compiles the logical framework of the Nusantara Module as a reference in carrying out 16 module activities consisting of 8 diversity activities, 2 inspiration activities, 5 reflection activities, and 1 social contribution activity. Second, to strengthen PMM students' understanding of religious moderation, the PMM UNP implementation team organized various activities including learning to get along with the limau baronggeh customary tradition, visiting minority communities in Padang, learning local wisdom with religious and traditional leaders of Kubu Gadang Village. Third, the contribution of Padang State University in strengthening the religious moderation of PMM students is in the form of inserting moderation values in each activity, providing maximum service to all religious believers, and facilitating various activities that support the strengthening of religious moderation.

Abstract

Tradisi membilang hari merupakan adat istiadat di desa Munsalo yang diselenggarakan ketika ada 1 (satu) orang atau lebih meninggal dunia, sedangkan tetangga atau masyarakat yang tinggal disana berbondong-bondong untuk menghadiri tradisi membilang hari dirumah duka. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Proses pelaksanaan membilang hari diselenggarakan Tradisi ini sudah muncul sejak lama dan tradisi ini terus berlanjut hingga sekarang bagi masyarakat. Membilang hari merupakan adat istiadat yang perlu dilestarikan, kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk mendikan arwah yang meninggal dan menjalin silaturahmi kepada sanak saudara. Membilang hari inj memiliki makna yaitu untuk mendoakan arwah yang telah lama meninggal dan yang baru meninggal. Tujuan dalam membilang hari ini yaitu untuk mengingatkan tentang kematian bagi yang masih hidup agar mendekatkan diri kepada Allah Swt. Kemudian membilang hari ini sudah disepakati oleh ulama, tokoh adat dan agama serta cendikiawan yang ada di kenegrian kopah. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam pelaksanaan membilang hari yaitu niali syukur niai silaturahmi, dan nilai ibadah.
