Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to create digital comics on biology and assess their suitability and effectiveness as a teaching tool for the human circulatory system for eleventh graders in terms of learning outcomes. The approach used an R&D model that was modified from the Borg and Gall model. Subjects included pupils from SMA Negeri 1 Kisaran and SMA Negeri 4 Kisaran. The data of interviews, questionnaires, and multiple choices were obtained. The findings demonstrated the validity of the eligibility level of the biology digital comics created; 94% of the material experts, 89% of the instructional design experts, and 94% of the layout experts evaluated the comics. With an average score of 88%, the created educational materials that were evaluated by students fell into the very good category. In the meantime, the effectiveness level of biology digital comics with an N-Gain value of 0.57 in a moderate category and the eligibility level gained from the teachers was 90% in a very good category. Keywords: Learning media, digital comics, biology, circulatory system Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat komik digital mata pelajaran biologi dan menilai kesesuaian dan efektivitasnya sebagai alat bantu pengajaran sistem peredaran darah manusia untuk siswa kelas XI ditinjau dari hasil belajar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah model R&D yang dimodifikasi dari model Borg and Gall. Subyek penelitiannya adalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Kisaran dan SMA Negeri 4 Kisaran. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, angket, dan pilihan ganda. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan validitas tingkat kelayakan komik digital biologi yang dibuat; Komik dinilai oleh 94% ahli materi, 89% ahli desain pembelajaran, dan 94% ahli tata letak. Dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 88%, materi pendidikan yang dibuat dan dinilai oleh siswa masuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan tingkat keefektifan komik digital biologi dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,57 berada pada kategori sedang dan tingkat kelayakan yang diperoleh dari guru sebesar 90% berada pada kategori sangat baik. Kata kunci: Media pembelajaran, komik digital, biologi, sistem peredaran darah

Abstract

Motivation for healthy living is an effort to achieve optimal physical and mental health levels. One of the factors of healthy living behavior is the existence of healthy living motivation in a person. Students who have been equipped or have healthy living motivation will consistently carry out a healthy lifestyle. This condition is because the student is already motivated to maintain their health. However, if the student is not motivated to implement a healthy lifestyle, it will not be easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle consistently. The research method used in this study was an online search or literature study, which obtained information and data by analyzing valid research articles from both national and international sources. The study results showed that five articles examined the influence of motivation and healthy living behavior. Thus, motivation and healthy living behavior have a significant influence. As explained, the tendency to act is based on the motive to achieve a high degree of healthy living, and that person must have high motivation. The results of this study are expected to provide insight for other researchers to conduct similar research.

Abstract

Kesehatan reproduksi bagi wanita merupakan hal penting untuk dipelajari. Oleh sebab itu, penting sekali bagi orang tua untuk memainkan perannya dalam memberikan pengetahuan dasar mengenai kesehatan reproduksi bagi mereka. Setelah di berikan pengetahuan dasar mengenai kesehatan reproduksi oleh orang tua, pada dasar nya para remaja yang masih duduk di bangku sekolah juga diberikan bekal dalam menjaga kesehatan reproduksi nya melalui pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pembelajaran biologi di sekolah. Tingkat pemahaman peserta didik yang didapatkan dari sekolah merupakan aspek penting dalam memengaruhi tindakan peserta didik untuk menjaga kesehatan reproduksinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan pencarian daring atau studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil literatur review dapat disimpulkan bahwat tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap peserta didik megenai sistem reproduksi tergolong baik. Tingkat pengetahuan berpengaruh positif terhadap kesehatan reproduksi. Peserta didik yang memilki pengetahuan yang tinggi akan memiliki sejumlah persiapan untuk menjaga kesehatan reproduksinya. Pengetahuan yang tinggi membuat peserta didik mengetahui hal-hal apa saja yang penting untuk dijaga dan dirawat.

Abstract

Improving student learning outcomes and motivation is a central focus in developing effective instructional models. This study compares the effects of the Think Talk Write (TTW) and Expository models on science learning outcomes, viewed from students' learning motivation levels. The research aims to: (1) determine the effect of learning motivation on science learning outcomes; (2) determine the effect of learning models (TTW and Expository) on science learning outcomes; and (3) examine the interaction between learning motivation and instructional models on students' science learning outcomes. Using a quantitative experimental design involving 64 students in Simalungun Regency, data were collected through tests and questionnaires and analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA. The analysis revealed that learning motivation significantly influenced outcomes (F = 3.188; p = 0.049; η² = 0.099), the learning model had a stronger effect (F = 11.587; p = 0.001; η² = 0.167), and there was a significant interaction between the model and motivation (F = 3.707; p = 0.031; η² = 0.113). The model accounted for 41.8% of the variance in learning outcomes (R² = 0.418). These findings highlight that aligning teaching models with students’ motivation levels especially through TTW enhances the effectiveness of science learning through active engagement and deeper conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui model Project Based Learning (PjBL) dengan pendekatan STEM pada materi kalor dan perpindahannya dan aspek berpikir kritis apakah yang memiliki persentase dengan nilai gain tertinggi melalui model Project Based Learning dengan pendekatan STEM pada materi kalor dan perpindahannya. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen yang melibatkan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Sampel pada penelitian ini siswa kelas VII-1 dan VII-3 dengan jumlah masing-masing kelas sebanyak 28 orang siswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang telah divalidasi dalam bentuk tes essai berjumlah 12 soal yang memenuhi syarat validasi isi yaitu 0,377 sampai 0,563 dan memenuhi syarat reliabilitas sebesar 0,712. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh data bersifat homogen. Pada uji normalitas data pretest dan posttest berdistribusi normal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji hipotesis posttest diperoleh sebesar 0,000 sehingga disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh model Project Based Learning dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas 7 pada materi kalor dan perpindahannya di MTs Cerdas Murni. Pada pengujian gain ternormalisasi diperoleh n-gain sebesar 77% kelas eksperimen dan sebesar 56% kelas kontrol sehingga disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penerapan model Project Based Learning dengan pendekatan STEM pada materi kalor dan perpindahannya memenuhi kriteria tinggi pada kelas eksperimen dan kategori sedang pada kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang memiliki persentase lebih tinggi adalah pada aspek memberikan penjelasan lebih lanjut yaitu sebesar 83%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan isi dan desain flipbook digital berbasis pendekatan kontekstual pada materi virus untuk kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Medan yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian pengembangan ini difokuskan pada pengembangan media pembelajaran Flipbook materi virus dengan bantuan aplikasi Flip HTML 5 dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Impelementation and Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan angket penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli media, ahli materi dan ahli pembelajaran. Hasil validasi media pembelajaran flipbook digital berbasis pendekatan kontekstual yang dikembangkan dinyatakan “Sangat Layak” dengan 83,75% penilaian ahli materi, 92,5% penilaian ahli media dan 93,75% penilaian dari ahli pembelajaran. Hasil efektivitas kategori sedang, artinya flipbook digital efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai rata-rata pretest 29,12 sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest 77,21 dan nilai rata-rata N-Gain 0,69.

Abstract

The research aimed to assess the Biotechnology Encyclopedia's suitability as a learning resource for Biotechnology students, involving material, design, and learning experts. Developed using the ADDIE model, the study included sixth-semester students from the Biology Education Program at Medan State University. Sampling involved 56 students selected through simple random sampling. Data collection utilized questionnaires, tests, and interviews, analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Material and design experts rated the encyclopedia positively but suggested minor revisions, with 72% and 86% respectively in the "good" and "very good" categories. Similarly, learning experts and lecturer responses were in the "very good" category at 94% and 85% respectively. Student responses were overwhelmingly positive, with 87% in the "very good" category without revisions. T-test results showed a significant difference in scientific literacy abilities between the experimental and control classes (9.344 > 2.002), indicating the effective impact of the Biotechnology Encyclopedia based on scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an affective assessment instrument based on self-assessment of biodiversitymaterial class X at SMA Negeri 9 Medan. This research uses research methods used to produce certain products and test the validity and practicality of products with the Thiagarajan development model (4D) which consists of 4 stages of development, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The subject of this study is class X at SMA Negeri 9 Medan which consists of 108 students. This research focuses on the affective realm of science, namely in the form of scientific attitudes, which include indicators of curiosity, objectivity, cooperation, responsibility, open thinking, and discipline. This development stage consists of instrument validation, reliability analysis and instrument testing. The results of the study showed that (1) after being validly tested with an average value of 3.52 with the category of very feasible using SPSS data. (2) Viewed as a whole from the Alpha Cronbach coefficient, it can be concluded that the assessment device is declared reliable on the high reliability criteria because the test scores in classes X1, X2, and X3 are 0.821, 0.821, and 0.836. (3) The results of the trial that have been carried out are concluded that the effectiveness criteria have been achieved with the average score of the three respondents being 82%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the students' higher order thinking skills on biodiversity material in class X. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The sample of this study was class X students consisting of 104 people determined by cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used was a test question in the form of an essay of 12 items on biodiversity material. The results showed that students' higher order thinking skills on biodiversity material in class X were at very low criteria with the acquisition of an average student score of 44.5%. In each indicator, it was found that the C4 indicator of class X students was very low with a percentage of 44.3%, the C5 indicator was very low with a percentage of 40.0%, and the C6 indicator was very low with a percentage of 46.0%. Thus, it can be concluded that to be able to improve the higher order thinking skills of grade X students, students begin to familiarize themselves with reading various literatures, solve HOTS-based problems, and students must use various learning strategies.

Abstract

Interactive Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on scientific literacy are an effective alternative learning method for training junior high school students critical thinking skills. This research focuses on developing interactive LKPD based on scientific literacy on photosynthesis material. The aims of this research are (1) to analyze the validity and effectiveness of interactive LKPD based on scientific literacy in training students' critical thinking skills, and (2) to analyze the results of students' critical thinking abilities while using interactive LKPD based on scientific literacy. The research method used is development research with the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects of this research were 30 students in class VII-6 of SMP Negeri 3 Lubuk Pakam. Research data was obtained from validation results by validators, data from critical thinking skills based on observations by observers and data from pretest and posttest results. The research results show that (1) the interactive LKPD developed has very high validity, both in terms of media at 95.24% and terms of material at 85.81%. Interactive LKPD is categorized as effective in training critical thinking skills with a percentage of 63%. (2) The pretest and posttest results show a significant difference with an N-gain value of 0.6, indicating a moderate increase, with classical learning completeness reaching 93%. Thus, this scientific literacy-based interactive worksheet on photosynthesis has proven to be valid and effective in training junior high school students critical thinking skills.
