Abstract

This study was aimed to determine effect on: (1) Problem based learning strategy toward critical thinking skills; (2) Learning interest toward critical thinking skills; (3) Interaction between problem based learning strategy and learning interest toward critical thinking skills; (4) Problem based learning strategy toward students’ learning outcomes; (5) Learning interest toward students’ learning outcomes; and (6) Interaction between problem based learning strategy and learning interest toward students’ learning outcomes. Subjects in this study are taken as much as 3 classes is determined by a cluster random sampling. Determined learning class in research is 2 classes with sample of 38 people per class. . Based on the results show that there are significant effect on (1) Learning model toward critical thinking skills which obtained Fcount>Ftable (6,971>2,50) and probability value is 0,010<0,05; (2) Learning interest toward critical thinking skills which obtained Fcount>Ftable (24,949>2,50) and probability value is 0,000<0,05; (3) Interaction between learning model and learning interest toward critical thinking skills which obtained Fcount>Ftable (4,140>2,50) and probability value is 0,046<0,05; (4) Learning model toward students’ learning outcomes which obtainde Fcount>Ftable (25,269>2,50) and probability value is 0,000<0,05; (5) Learning interest toward students’ learning outcomes which obtained Fcount>Ftable (13,888>2,50) and probability value is 0,000<0,05; and (6) Interaction between learning model and learning interest toward students’ learning outcomes which obtained Fcount>Ftable (4,291>2,50) and probability value is 0,042<0,05. Based on this study can conclude that there are significant effect of strategy, interest, and interaction between learning strategy and learning interest toward critical thinking skills and students’ learning outcomes on the topic in digestive system of human at MAS Amaliyah Sunggal. This cases are expected to provide information for teachers and schools to use problem based learning strategy and learning interest to improve critical thinking skills and student’s learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the components of Biology Lesson Plan for reproduction system material in public senior high school in Mandailingnatal District. The research method was using quantitative descriptive study with a sample of 20 biology teachers from 14 public senior high schools in Mandailingnatal district. The research instrument used RPP document assessment sheets, observation sheets of instructional implementation and interviews. The results showed that Planning of learning implementation made by biology teacher in public senior high school in Mandailingnatal for reproduction system academic year 2015/2016 was categorized quite well planned with percentage 77%. As a follow-up of the results of this study is expected to teachers to be able to plan better, systematic and operational learning implementation by considering the characteristics of students, include a more appropriate evaluation instrument and more active in cooperation with the MGMP group to produce better learning.

Abstract

Penilaian merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam pembelajaran yang turut berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Namun pada prakteknya penilaian sering dilakukan untuk mengukur kognitif semata dan kurang menyentuh aspek afektif dan psikomotor secara menyeluruh. Upaya untuk meningkatkan proses dan hasil belajar biologi telah dilakukan melalui pengembangan penilaian otentik dalam bentuk penilaian proses, kineija, dan penilaian produk selama tiga tahun terakhir. Data diperoleh melalui koleksi laporan mini riset Ekologi Tumbuhan. Dengan menganalisis secara deskriptif analitik, berdasarkan aspek kemampuan pengamatan, kemampuan wawancara dengan informan local, kemampuan analisis data, serta kekmampuan mendokumentasikan flora, hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa penilaian otentik: 1) dapat mengungkap penguasaan biologi mahasiswa lebih komprehensif meliputi aspek morfologi, anatomi, fisiologi, ekologi, sehingga pemahaman materi ajar biologi lebih baik; 2) dapat mengungkap lebih dari satu ranah kognitif-afektif, kognitif-psikomotor atau afektif-psikomotor; 3) memberi kesempatan secara luas pada mahasiswa untuk melakukan self-assessment; 4) melatih mahasiswa berpikir lebih kritis memandang suatu penugasan; 5) dapat memberi umpan balik melampaui tujuan pembelajaran yang telah dirumuskan, sehingga memberi efek in- struksional dan efek iringan baru yang menginspirasi proses pembelajaran yang lebih kre- atif. Walaupun penilaian otentik memberi banyak dampak positif dalam pembelajaran, namun di sisi lain masih terdapat kendala bagi dosen dalam mengimplementasikannya seperti perlunya lembar kerja mini riset yang lebih spesifik, perlunya rubrik penilaian mini riset berbasis kerja ilmiah, serta perlunya pengubahan etos mengajar. Untuk itu di- perlukan proses yang kontinu dalam pengembangan penilaian otentik dengan tindak lanjut dalam pemanfaatan hasil penilaian otentik untuk mendukung peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Ekologi Tumbuhan di Perguruan Tinggi.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati profesional, kompetensi kepribadian, sosial, dan pedagogik guru biologi bersertifikat sesuai dengan Permendiknas No 16, 2007. Seperti banyak guru biologi 224 yang telah lulus sertifikasi di Kecamatan Medan terlibat sebagai populasi dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, lembar penilaian RPP, lembar penilaian set mahasiswa, guru dan siswa kuesioner selama delapan guru biologi. Dalam penelitian ini, data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan persentase. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi profesional, pedagogik, kepribadian, dan sosial guru biologi telah sesuai dengan Permendiknas No 16, 2007. Pada dasarnya, guru biologi mampu menyusun rencana pelajaran dengan baik, total rata-rata untuk RPP guru biologi dalam aspek penilaian X ̅ (2.81 ± 1.33). Selain bahwa nilai rata-rata aspek penilaian tertinggi X ̅ (4,29 ± 0,76) dalam aspek penilaian merumuskan masalah dan nilai rata-rata aspek penilaian terendah X ̅ (1,86 ± 1,07) dalam aspek penilaian skenario pembelajaran detail. Kemudian, dalam penilaian siswa menetapkan total rata-rata dari penilaian aspek X ̅ (3.02 ± 1.29). Disamping itu rata-rata penilaian siswa set dalam aspek penilaian tertinggi X ̅ (4.00 ± 1.26). Dalam aspek penilaian, perumusan setiap pertanyaan menggunakan kata-kata / kalimat yang menyebabkan makna ganda dan rata-rata aspek penilaian terendah X ̅ (1,33 ± 0,51) dalam aspek penilaian kejelasan kriteria penilaian yang dijelaskan dalam set penilaian. Hasil observasi pembelajaran di kelas yang menunjukkan rata-rata total guru biologi dalam penilaian aspek X ̅ (3,60 ± 1,13). Disamping itu rata-rata aspek tertinggi penilaian X ̅ (4,25 ± 1,38) dalam aspek penilaian pra-belajar dan rata-rata aspek penilaian terendah X ̅ (3.00 ± 1.06) dalam aspek penilaian proses dan hasil pembelajaran dan X ̅ (3,00 ± 1,30 ) dalam aspek penilaian penutupan-learning. Penilaian Hasil dari coleages menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pribadi dan sosial guru biologi yang telah lulus sertifikasi baik dan dalam kuesioner siswa menunjukkan hasil yang baik juga. Dalam kompetensi personal, total rata-rata aspek penilaian X ̅ (4.11 ± 0.50) dalam kuesioner guru dan kompetensi sosial, total rata-rata aspek penilaian X ̅ (4.01 ± 0.51) dalam kuesioner guru. Penelitian ini berimplikasi untuk pentingnya pembangunan berkelanjutan bagi guru biologi bersertifikat.ABSTRACTThis study aims to observe the professional, personal, social, and pedagogic competence of certified biology teacher in accordance with Permendiknas No. 16, 2007. As many as 224 biology teachers who have passed certification in District Medan were involved as population in this study. Data were collected by using observation sheet, assessment sheet of lesson plan, assessment sheet of student sets, teacher and student questionnaire for eight biology teachers. In this study, data were analyzed in qualitative descriptive by using the percentage. The results show that professional, pedagogic, personal, and social competence of biology teachers have been accordance with Permendiknas No. 16, 2007. Basically, the biology teachers were able to draw up lesson plans well, the total average for lesson plan of biology teacher in assessment aspects X ̅ (2.81±1.33). Beside that the average value of highest assessment aspect X ̅ (4.29±0.76) in assessment aspect of formulating problem and the average value of lowest assessment aspect X ̅ (1.86±1.07) in assessment aspect of detail learning scenario. Then, in student assessment sets the total average of assessment aspect X ̅ (3.02±1.29). Beside that the average of student assessment sets in highest assessment aspect X ̅ (4.00±1.26). In assessment aspect, formulation of each question use words/sentences which cause double meaning and the average of lowest assessment aspect X ̅ (1.33±0.51) in assessment aspect of clarity criteria assessment which described in assessment sets. The learning observation result in class show that the total average of biology teacher in assessment aspect X ̅ (3.60±1.13). Beside that the average of highest assessment aspect X ̅ (4.25±1.38) in pre-learning assessment aspect and the average of lowest assessment aspect X ̅ (3.00±1.06) in assessment aspect of process and learning outcomes and X ̅ (3.00±1.30) in assessment aspect of closing-learning. The assessment result from coleages show that personal and social competence of biology teachers who have passed certification is good and in student questioner shows good result too. In personal competence, the total average of assessment aspect X ̅ (4.11±0.50) in the teacher questioner and in social competence, the total average of assessment aspect X ̅ (4.01±0.51) in the teacher questioner. This study implicates for the importance of sustainable development for certified biology teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey based land kawasan Danau Toba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis kekayaan hayati yang ada di kawasan Danau Toba yang sudah dan belum digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi dan baganimana kreativitas guru dan siswa dalam melestarikana kekayaan dan kebudayaan kawasan Danau Toba dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA. Data diperoleh menggunakan angket dan lembar observasi pembelajaran dan observasi lingkungan sekolah. Hasil penelitian menyatakan tanaman khas yang ada diperairan Danau Toba di Kabupaten Balige adalah encen gondok dan hewan khas yang berada di perairan Danau Toba adalah ikan mas dan ikan mujahir. Upaya pembelajaran yang dilakukan berdasarkan pemanfaatan Danau Toba adalah dengan melakukan praktikum dan membuat kliping. Upaya pelestarian yang dilakukan pihak sekolah adalah dengan tidak membuang sampah di Danau Toba lagi.

Abstract

This research describes the educators serve as facilitators who can enhance the efficacy of the learning process. The success is contingent upon the teacher's proficiency in understanding students, the curriculum, instructional methodologies, and assessments to effectively convey scientific information. Consequently, educators must enhance their quality and proficiency to achieve the objectives of Indonesian national education, namely to cultivate the nation's well-being. The National Science Teacher Association delineates three tiers for the preparation of science educators, encompassing biology instructors: preservice (student teacher candidates), novice teachers (induction), and professional teachers. Professional educators must be adequately prepared from the outset, even as student teacher candidates. Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) assists educators in enhancing the quality of classroom learning. This research uses quantitative descriptive research that captures information about the cognitive abilities of TPACK and authentic assessments of prospective biology teacher students at Medan State University and the ability to integrate TPACK in the implementation of ISFI II

Abstract

Keterampilan abad ke-21 adalah kompetensi yang penting untuk sukses di dunia modern. Kemampuan rata-rata literasi sains peserta didik di Indonesia berdasarkan hasil studi PISA dari tahun 2000 memperoleh sekor 383 menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik di Indonesia menduduki peringkat ke 66 dari 80 negara, sedangkan literasi digital Indonesia yang mendapatkan nilai sedang yaitu berada di angka 3,47. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh model Argument Driven Enquiry (ADI) berbantuan vitural laboratory untuk meningkatkan literasi sains dan literasi digital mahasiswa Prodi IPA Universitas Negeri Medan. Jenis Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-eksperimen, Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas yang mengambil matakuliah Dasar-dasar IPA dan laboratorium pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan two group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen penelitian untuk literasi sains 30 soal pilihan ganda mengunakan frameworl PISA 2018, literasi digital berupa angket berjumlah 298 pertanyaan menggunakan A Global Framework of Reference on Digital Literacy Skills” (UNESCO, 2018). Hasil uji multivariate menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi 0,000 0,05 artinya H0 ditolak sehingga dapat disimpulkan bawah pengaruh signifikan penerapan model pembelajaran ADI berbantuan virtual laboratory terhadap literasi sains dan literasi digital mahasiswa Prodi IPA Universitas Negeri Medan yang mengambil matakuliah Dasar-dasar IPA dan laboratorium tahun ajaran 2023-2024. Efektifitas ADI berbantuan virtual laboratory memperoleh nilai N-gain 0,81 dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas yang kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Direct Intruction memperoleh nilai N-gain 0,52 dengan kategori sedang

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model assisted by wordwall quiz media on earth and solar system material on learning outcomes and activeness of seventh grade students of SMPN 6 Kisaran. The study used a Quasi Experimental design with a Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design research design. The sample consists of two classes, namely the experimental class with the TGT learning model and the control class using the direct learning model with a total of 32 students each. Sampling was done by random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using tests and observations. The data were analyzed by testing the hypothesis using the Mann Whitney test on student learning activeness and the Independent Sample T-test on student learning outcomes. The results of observations of student learning activeness show that the average value of student learning activeness of the experimental class is 79.2 which is included in the category of very active and the control class is 65.2 which is included in the active category. The pretest learning outcomes of students in the experimental class showed an average value of 36.6 students and in the control class 33.6. The posttest learning outcomes of students in the experimental class showed an average score of 78.4 with 24 students complete and in the control class 57.3 with 4 students complete. Hypothesis testing shows that there are significant differences in student activeness and learning outcomes in the experimental class using the Teams Games Tournament Type Cooperative learning model assisted by Wordwall Quiz compared to the control class using the direct learning model on solar system material.

Abstract

Education fosters students' curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. As a psychological aspect, interest in learning plays an important role by evoking a sense of enjoyment and comfort in learning without external pressure. This study focuses on the influence of school environment conditions on students' interest in learning, including factors such as physical facilities, classroom atmosphere, teacher-student interaction, and parental support. The research method used was a literature review, involving a collection of relevant studies from PubMed and Google Scholar published between 2021 and 2023, using the keywords "learning interest" and "school environment".These findings reveal that the school environment significantly contributes to increasing interest in learning. Adequate facilities, a supportive classroom atmosphere, and positive teacher-student relationships effectively encourage greater interest in learning.
