Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are one of the essential aspects that students need to master because, through this ability, they can solve problems in everyday life. Providing Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) questions is one of the teachers' efforts to develop students' mathematical literacy skills. This study aims to describe the observed mathematical literacy ability of students learning independence and analyze the difficulties experienced by students in solving PISA problems. The study subjects consisted of 20 students of SMPN 02 Siak Hulu. The research method used is descriptive. The research instrument is PISA test questions oriented to quantity content, learning independence questionnaires, and interviewguidelines. The data obtained is analyzed by reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions. The result of this study is that students doing PISA questions are still experiencing difficulties. This difficulty occurs because students are unfamiliar with PISA model questions. They do not understand the meaning of the problem, do not understand the material in the problem, are confused about determining mathematical concepts, and cannot apply problem-solving strategies.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 to facilitate students’ mathematical problem-solving skills in statistics at the high school level. The development process utilized the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The media was designed to guide students through the steps of problem-solving, including understanding the problem, planning the solution, executing the plan, and evaluating the solution.   The developed media was validated by experts and found to be highly valid. A small-scale and large-scale trial was conducted to assess the media's effectiveness. Results from the small-scale trial showed that the media was highly practical for students with varying abilities. The large-scale trial also indicated that the media was practical and effective in facilitating students' mathematical problem-solving skills.   In conclusion, the developed interactive learning media is a valuable tool to enhance students' mathematical problem-solving skills in statistics. It provides a structured and engaging learning experience is proven to be valid and practical that can help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low both Mathematical Problem Solving Ability (KPMM) and Mathematical Disposition (DM) in solving problems of grade VII MTs students. This study aims to see an increase in KPMM and DM MTs students in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The form of research was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the study was MTs students in Kuantan Singingi District with the sample being Grade VII students from 3 MTs in Kuansing. Data collection instruments in this study were KPMM tests and DM questionnaires. Data were analyzed using t-test, Mann- Whitney U test, one-way Anova. The results obtained were an increase in KPMM for students who treated with Think Talk Write (TTW) strategies in cooperative learning. They were higher than students who obtained learning with a scientific approach (g_TTW = 0.75> 0.61 = g_PS). So it appears that the increase in KPMM and DM students who get the TTW Strategy in Cooperative Learning is higher than students who get learning with a scientific approach.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts. One of the efforts made to facilitate the ability to understand mathematical concepts is by developing Contextual Teaching and Learning LKPD. This research aims to produce valid and practical LKPD products to facilitate the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The form of this research is development research using the 4-D model (definition, design, development and distribution). The research subjects were class VIII of SMPN 32 Pekanbaru. Research instruments include interviews, observations, validation sheets, student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique is carried out by analyzing validation data and student response data. The results of data analysis showed that the LKPD developed had met valid standards with a percentage of 89.06% in the very valid category. The student response questionnaire met practical standards with a percentage of 89.62% in the very practical category. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the LKPD developed meets the valid and practical criteria, so it can be used in the mathematics learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics teaching material based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach that is valid and practical to facilitate the mathematical critical thinking skills of eighth-grade junior high school students. The research was motivated by the low level of students' critical thinking skills and the lack of teaching materials that support their development. This research employed a development method using the 4D model, which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The limited trial involved 17 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 in the Suliki subdistrict. The instruments used included expert validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the teaching material obtained a validity score of 85.05% (valid category) and a practicality score of 87.38% (very practical category). Analysis of students written work also showed that the material effectively facilitated critical thinking indicators such as interpretation, analysis, and inference. Therefore, the developed teaching material is recommended for use in mathematics instruction for eighth-grade students.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika di era 21 lebih fokus pada pemahaman konsep matematika untuk mengatasi masalah matematis. Etnomatematika bisa menjadi metode dalam mengajarkan matematika yang mendukung peserta didik dalam memahami konsep matematika serta menyelesaikan masalah. Etnomatematika adalah pembelajaran matematika yang berlandaskan budaya. Bangunan bersejarah adalah produk dari budaya yang mengandung konsep geometri. Banyak desain bangunan yang menarik untuk ditelusuri, salah satunya adalah banguan bersejarah Masjid Pathok Negoro Dongkelan. Masjid Pathok Negoro Dongkelan merupakan bangunan yang sering dikunjungi oleh masyarat dan wisatawan. Banyak penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan etnomatematika dapat memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep matematika. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengeksplorasi dan mengetahui konsep matematika yang terdapat pada Masjid Pathok Negoro Dongekalan ditinjau dari perspektif Geometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur bangunan Masjid Pathok Negoro Dongkelan sebagian besar terdapat etnomatematika pada konsep geometri seperti persegi panjang, persegi, lingkaran, segitiga, trapesium, jajar genjang, balok, limas segi empat, limas terpancung, refleksi, , rotasi dan dilatasi. Temuan pada penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur-unsur budaya lokal dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar kontekstual yang memperkaya pengalaman peserta didik dalam memahami konsep-konsep geometri. Pemanfaatan etnomatematika dalam pembelajaran tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman matematika, tetapi juga menumbuhkan apresiasi terhadap kearifan lokal dan nilai-nilai budaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru berdasarkan indikator numerasi, konten matematika, konteks soal, dan level proses kognitif dalam Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek sebanyak 30 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui Teknik tes menggunakan instrumen berupa lima soal AKM yang mencakup konten bilangan, geometri, aljabar, serta data dan ketidakpastian, dengan konteks personal, sosial, dan saintifik. Analisis dilakukan terhadap indikator merumuskan (Q1, Q2), menerapkan (R1, R2), dan menafsirkan (S1) menggunakan skala penskoran 0–2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa paling mampu dalam merumuskan masalah (Q2: 0,79), namun lemah dalam menerapkan prosedur (R2: 0,46) dan menafsirkan hasil (S1: 0,66), terutama pada soal dengan konten data dan konteks saintifik. Pencapaian tertinggi terdapat pada konten bilangan (0,91), konteks sosial (0,72), dan level penalaran (0,85). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun siswa dapat memahami dan memodelkan soal, mereka masih kesulitan dalam aplikasi dan interpretasi dalam konteks nyata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran terkait kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi fungsi eksponensial. Penelitian ini. menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru dengan subjek siswa kelas X-5 yang berjumlah 19 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes kemampuan penalaran matematis sebanyak 4 butir soal dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada materi fungsi eksponensial tergolong dalam kategori rendah. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi fungsi eksponensial. Rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis subjek terlihat pada  ketidakmampuannya dalam indikator: (1) melakukan manipulasi matematika, (2) menarik kesimpulan berdasarkan data yang teramati (generalisasi), dan (3) menganalisis situasi matematis menggunakan pola dan hubungan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya latihan yang dilakukan siswa, terutama ketika soal yang diberikan memiliki bentuk yang berbeda dari contoh yang diajarkan. Selain itu, ditemukan adanya miskonsepsi, di mana beberapa siswa menganggap bahwa persamaan fungsi eksponensial sama dengan persamaan fungsi linear.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik, namun belum dapat dikembangkan pada pembelajaran matematika dikarenakan perangkat ajar dan proses pembelajaran yang kurang mendukung kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keefektifan modul ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik pada materi Barisan dan Deret. Pegembangan modul ajar menggunakan tahapan model 4D dengan subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik fase E MA Al-Ihsan Boarding School. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, tes dan nontes. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar validitas, angket respon guru, dan lembar tes kemampuan penalaran matematis. Analisis data terdiri dari uji statistik, analisis validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektifitas. Hasil validitas oleh 3 dosen matematika menggunakan lembar validasi mendapati bahwa modul ajar berkategori sangat valid, hasil praktikalitas berdasarkan penilaian respon guru memperlihatkan bahwa modul ajar berkategori sangat praktis, dan hasil efektifitas melalui penelitian eksperimen memperlihatkan bahwa modul ajar memberikan dampak positif yaitu efektif dengan kategori sedang dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul ajar berbasis PBL memiliki kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis peserta didik

Abstract

This research investigates student errors in solving contextual problems involving Systems of Linear Equations in Three Variables (SPLTV) using Newman’s Error Analysis framework. The theory categorizes errors into five cognitive stages: reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding. A qualitative descriptive method was applied, involving three 10th-grade vocational school students from different majors in Kampar Regency, selected based on varying ability levels. Data were collected through contextual written tests and interviews. Findings reveal that low-ability students made errors across all stages, medium-ability students primarily struggled with process skills and encoding, while high-ability students demonstrated minimal errors and systematic problem-solving. The highest error rates occurred in the reading and comprehension stages (33% each), followed by transformation, process skills, and encoding (22% each). These results highlight the crucial role of contextual understanding and mathematical modeling in SPLTV. The study recommends differentiated instruction and the integration of contextual problems to reduce errors and enhance students' mathematical thinking.   Penelitian ini mengkaji kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal kontekstual Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel (SPLTV) dengan menggunakan kerangka Analisis Kesalahan Newman. Teori ini mengelompokkan kesalahan ke dalam lima tahapan kognitif, yaitu membaca, memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban. Metode deskriptif kualitatif diterapkan dengan melibatkan tiga siswa kelas X dari jurusan berbeda di salah satu SMK di Kabupaten Kampar, yang dipilih berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan yang bervariasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes tertulis berbentuk soal kontekstual dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan rendah melakukan kesalahan pada seluruh tahapan, siswa berkemampuan sedang terutama mengalami kesalahan pada tahap keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban, sedangkan siswa berkemampuan tinggi menunjukkan kesalahan minimal dan mampu menyelesaikan soal secara sistematis. Persentase kesalahan tertinggi terjadi pada tahap membaca dan memahami (masing-masing 33%), diikuti oleh tahap transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban (masing-masing 22%). Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman konteks dan kemampuan pemodelan matematis dalam menyelesaikan SPLTV. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan pembelajaran diferensiatif serta integrasi soal kontekstual untuk mengurangi kesalahan dan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa
