Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels resulting from insulin deficiency or resistance. Streptozotocin, a potent diabetogenic agent, is commonly employed to induce experimental diabetes by selectively damaging pancreatic beta cells, resulting in insulin deficiency and hyperglycemia. Elevated Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, indicative of oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, are closely linked to diabetic complications. This study aimed to investigate the association between MDA levels and blood glucose in Streptozotocin-induced rat diabetes, shedding light on potential therapeutic strategies. Spectrophotometric analysis was utilized to quantify MDA levels in rat tissues, providing insights into the extent of oxidative damage. The results revealed a significant correlation between MDA levels and blood glucose, highlighting the role of oxidative stress in diabetic pathogenesis. These findings underscore the importance of targeting oxidative stress in diabetes management to prevent complications. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the relevance of monitoring MDA levels as a biomarker for assessing oxidative stress in diabetic conditions and guiding therapeutic interventions.

Abstract

Telemedicine has become an important innovation in digital health services to improve healthcare accessibility and quality, particularly for National Health Insurance (JKN) participants in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between telemedicine utilization and healthcare service quality among JKN patients at the Primary Healthcare Facility (FKTP) Flamingo Clinic, Lanud Soewondo, Medan. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample was selected using a total sampling technique, involving all JKN patients who utilized telemedicine services at FKTP Flamingo Clinic during the research period. Data were collected using structured questionnaires measuring respondent characteristics (age, gender, occupation, and frequency of telemedicine use) and telemedicine service factors, including perceived usefulness, ease of use, interface quality, interaction quality, and system reliability. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Chi-square test. The results showed that respondent characteristics such as age (p=0.614), gender (p=0.636), occupation (p=0.190), and frequency of telemedicine use (p=0.467) were not significantly associated with healthcare service quality. However, perceived usefulness, ease of use, interface quality, interaction quality, and reliability were significantly associated with healthcare service quality (p<0.05). These findings indicate that technological usability and communication quality in telemedicine services play an important role in improving patient satisfaction and healthcare service quality.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a growing global health problem. Patients undergoing hemodialysis frequently experience decreased physical capacity, fatigue, and limitations in daily activities. Physical activity has proven physiological and psychological benefits; however, its implementation largely depends on family support as primary caregivers. To date, limited studies have deeply explored family experiences in supporting physical activity among hemodialysis patients in the Indonesian healthcare context. To explore and gain an in-depth understanding of family experiences in supporting physical activity among CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. A qualitative study with a phenomenological approach was conducted at Tk. II Putri Hijau Hospital Medan in September 2025. Ten family members were recruited using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic. Analysis based on Colaizzi’s approach. Trustworthiness was ensured through source and method triangulation, member checking, and audit trail. Six major themes emerged: (1) the meaning of physical activity in patient recovery, (2) family support during hemodialysis sessions, (3) simple home-based physical activities, (4) physical and psychological barriers, (5) emotional burden of caregivers, and (6) the importance of healthcare professional education. Families played an active role in motivating, assisting, and adapting physical activities to patients’ conditions. Family experiences indicate that emotional, motivational, and educational support are key factors in promoting physical activity among hemodialysis patients. These findings highlight the importance of family-centered nursing interventions in CKD rehabilitation programs.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of education, work environment, and job satisfaction on the behavior of paramedics in Indonesian hospitals. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing survey data collected from paramedics across Indonesia. The study aims to identify key factors influencing paramedic behavior, offering valuable insights for hospital management to enhance healthcare service quality. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The results indicated that education (β = 0.25, p < 0.05), work environment (β = 0.32, p < 0.05), and job satisfaction (β = 0.40, p < 0.05) significantly and positively influence paramedic behavior. Additionally, education positively impacts both the work environment (β = 0.35, p < 0.05) and job satisfaction (β = 0.42, p < 0.05). These findings underscore the importance of continuous professional development, a conducive work environment, and high job satisfaction in promoting positive paramedic behavior and improving patient care in Indonesian hospitals.

Abstract

Stunting is a critical global health issue, especially in developing countries, affecting the growth and development of children under five. This study aims to analyze the factors related to the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months. This quantitative research employs a cross-sectional design, involving 200 toddlers selected randomly from several integrated health posts (Posyandu). Data were collected through questionnaires and direct measurements, then analyzed using multiple logistic regression. The results showed that family nutritional awareness behavior, maternal nutritional knowledge, and clean and healthy living behavior (CHLB) significantly affect the incidence of stunting. Maternal nutritional knowledge was identified as the most dominant factor. These findings emphasize the importance of comprehensive interventions involving family education, nutritional support, and CHLB promotion to reduce stunting prevalence. Further research and implementation of targeted interventions are needed to address and mitigate stunting effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of service quality and hospital image on patient loyalty, with patient satisfaction as an intervening variable, specifically focusing on BPJS Kesehatan patients. Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through surveys distributed to BPJS Kesehatan patients in a hospital setting. Data analysis techniques include descriptive analysis, multiple regression analysis, and path analysis to test the hypotheses. The results indicate that service quality and hospital image significantly affect patient satisfaction, which in turn influences patient loyalty. Patient satisfaction also mediates the relationship between service quality, hospital image, and patient loyalty. These findings provide valuable insights for hospitals in improving service quality and building a positive image to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty, particularly among BPJS Kesehatan patients.
