Abstract

The Pavement Design Manual 2024, which requires the use of asphalt PG 70 for loads above 30 million ESAL and the increasing volume of palm oil waste that requires handling and reuse, as well as the need for alternative materials to be used as fillers, make it necessary to develop environmentally friendly materials by combining asphalt PG-70 and palm oil fuel ash as fillers. This pavement mixture is expected to be a mixture containing environmentally friendly road construction materials as well as a solution to the utilization of palm oil waste that can withstand high traffic loads. Testing of aggregate materials, asphalt, and asphalt mixtures was carried out at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Medan State Polytechnic, in accordance with SNI, which refers to the General Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction Work 2018 Revision 2. The results obtained were that palm oil fuel ash as filler in asphalt mixture PG 70 gave an average value of stability above 1000 kg, density of 2-3 gr/ml, and VFA above 65% in all variations of filler content, for VIM values between 3-5% in the 50% and 75% variations, and VMA values above 15% in the 50%, 75% and 100% variations, while the flow value did not meet the standard value of 2-4 mm for all variations of filler content. Asphalt mixture PG 70 with palm oil fuel ash filler produces good density and stability values, but under repeated loading it will easily cause waves and rutting in the pavement due to the rigid nature of the mixture with a very high flow value and thus allow bleeding because the value of VFA is also very high.

Abstract

Arranging the parking area by planning the need for vertical parking spaces based on green transportation can be done to increase the UI Greenmentric score at Politeknik Negeri Medan, making the campus environmentally friendly. Therefore, the need for parking spaces is calculated. The planning of vertical parking spaces is based on parking population survey data conducted directly in the field as well as secondary data from previous research. From the calculations, the current need for motorcycle parking space at Politeknik Negeri Medan is 699 SRP, which will increase to 1,003.641 SRP in the next 10 years. Since only 800 SRP are available at the planned location, a multi-level motorcycle parking facility is being planned. Thus the existing parking area can be reduced by 4-7% with a score of 100 or 50% of the maximum value of indicator TR5. This figure increases from the calculation in the existing condition, which is 7-11% with a score of 50, representing 25% of the maximum value of the TR5 indicator. Abstract

Jenis perkerasan kaku (rigid pavement) merupakan alternatif perkerasan di Indonesia yang cukup banyak digunakan dikarenakan cukup kuat dan tanah lebih lama dibandingkan dengan perkerasan lentur (flexible pavement). Saat ini penggunaan perkerasan kaku sudah banyak digunakan khususnya untuk jalan nasional ataupun jalan tol. Pada laporan ini, tebal lapis perkerasan kaku dihitung dengan Manual Desain Perkerasan Jalan 2017 (MDPJ 2017), dengan data LHR sebagai acuan perhitungan dan beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi perencanaan tebal perkerasan. Struktur perkerasan beton yang direncanakan dengan menggunakan ketebalan 270 mm atau 27 cm, disesuaikan dengan perhitungan perencanaan tebal perkerasan dari hasil rata-rata keseluruhan diperoleh hasil tebal pelat beton 30,5 cm lapis pondasi beton (lean concrete) 10 cm dan tebal lapis pondasi agregat kelas A sebesar 15 cm.

Abstract

Pada lahan pertanian yang dikelola oleh Kelompok Tani Karya Tani II hanya memiliki satu jalan akses berupa jalan usaha tani/pertanian. Jalan usaha tani tersebut masih berupa jalan tanah dan kurang mendukung kenyamanan dan kelancaran berlalu lintas, apalagi dalam kondisi hujan, jalan tersebut menjadi berlumpur sehingga menyulitkan bagi petani maupun masyarakat melaksanakan kegiatan berlalu lintas. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah perbaikan jalan usaha tani tersebut dengan perkerasan jalan sirtu. Perkerasan jalan dilakukan sepanjang 80 m dengan ketebalan 15 cm. Dengan kegiatan perbaikan jalan usaha tani bisa menyediakan akses jalan yang memadai sebagai akses transportasi pada kawasan pertanian untuk memperlancar mobilitas alat mesin pertanian, sarana produksi dan mengangkut hasil produk pertanian dari dan ke lahan pertanian.

Abstract

Posyandu (Integrated Health Service Post) is a government program in Indonesia that provides healthcare services and child development support at the community level. In Dusun IV, Sei Sijenggi Village, Perbaungan Subdistrict, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra, a permanent Posyandu facility will be constructed on a 3x3 meter plot located in the yard of the Posyandu head’s residence. This location is approximately 49.4 km from Politeknik Negeri Medan. The establishment of this facility aims to improve access to routine monthly health check-ups for mothers and children, serve as a venue for community activities such as health education and socialization, and eliminate miscommunication caused by the previous relocation of the Posyandu site. The building will feature isolated footings at all four corners, ceramic flooring, and a roof structure made of wooden trusses and zinc sheeting. This initiative also supports the government's program to enhance the welfare and health of the local community.

Abstract

In the UI Greenmetric assessment, transportation is one of the six categories that are required for a green campus, and one of the indicators is the pedestrian path on campus (TR8). In the transportation category, Medan State Polytechnic obtained a score of 725 or 40.3% of the total maximum value of the transportation category. The nonoptimal score obtained is due to the pedestrian path on campus indicator (TR8) obtaining one point with the availability of pedestrian. The addition of scores is made by pedestrian paths connected to all buildings designed for safety and convenience and in some parts provided with disabled-friendly features. It’s very important to have a pedestrian arrangement, to make Medan State Polytechnic become an environmentally friendly campus, which is the purpose of this research. The arrangement is making a pedestrian path layout that connects to the entire area of the Medan State Polytechnic Building and calculating the minimum width requirements of the pedestrian path, then making a pedestrian path layout. Pedestrian flow surveys were conducted on 5 pedestrians and 2 hallways that were considered representative of the pedestrian paths that available at Medan State Polytechnic. The results of calculations and adjusted by the provisions of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing 2023 on Pedestrian Technical Planning, the pedestrian path width requirement is 185 cm.

Abstract

Currently, seismic load code for building and other structures SNI 1726:2019 have been enacted as a revision of SNI 1726:2012. Based on earthquake maps on both standards, North Sumatra is one of the provinces located in the earthquake area with high intensity. From the results of previous studies found changes in the spectrum design responses due to the establishment of SNI 1726:2019 as a revision of SNI 1726:2012 in Indonesia. Researchers are interested in discussing this change by reviewing 33 cities / regencies in North Sumatra Province. The results showed that there were changes in the site coefficients Fa and FV, spectral acceleration parameters SS, S1, SDS, and SD1 in most of the cities reviewed. In addition, there is also an anomalous phenomenon that occurs in the cities / regencies with Ss 0.8 g.

Abstract

Mushola adalah ruangan, tempat atau rumah kecil menyerupai masjid yang digunakan sebagai tempat salat dan mengaji bagi umat Islam. Berbeda dengan masjid dari segi fungsi karena tidak bisa dipakai untuk salat berjamaah skala besar seperti halnya untuk salat Jum’at. Di Musala Nurul Iman Desa Pantai Gemi, aktivitas keagamaan warga semakin meningkat, sedangkan ukuran musala terbatas, terutama ketika ada kegiatan yang membutuhkan ruang yang lebih luas seperti pengajian dan ceramah. Musala ini juga biasa digunakan warga untuk salat Tarawih pada bulan Ramadan dan salat Id setiap hari raya Idul Fitri dan Idul Adha. Dibutuhkan tambahan ruang untuk mengakomodirnya. Solusi yang ditawarkan pada kegiatan ini adalah dengan pembangunan struktur atap kanopi. Musala is a small room, place or house resembling a mosque that is used as a place for prayer and the Koran for Muslims. It is different from the mosque in terms of function because it cannot be used for large-scale congregational prayers as well as for Friday prayers. At the Musala Nurul Iman, Pantai Gemi Village, the religious activities of the residents are increasing, while the size of the prayer room is limited, especially when there are activities that require a wider space, such as recitations and lectures. This prayer room is also commonly used by residents for Tarawih prayers in the month of Ramadan and Eid prayers every Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Additional space is needed to accommodate it. The solution offered in this activity is the construction of a canopy roof structure.
