Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to identify patient perceptions, influencing factors, patient efforts, and increasing compliance with healthy lifestyles in hypertensive patients. Methodology: This study uses a qualitative approach method with a phenomenological design to explore in-depth information based on patient knowledge and understanding. The study was conducted on hypertensive patients from October to November 2024 at the Gatak Health Center. Results: Each patient has the same perception and knowledge about hypertension, but differs in the implementation of a healthy lifestyle and knowledge about complications of hypertension. Most patients agree that hypertension is dangerous and requires the implementation of a good lifestyle to prevent the development of hypertension, but some patients think that hypertension is not dangerous as long as they implement a good and correct healthy lifestyle. If this is put together, it will become the same core, only different in understanding, it is natural that this happens because each patient has a different mindset and understanding. All patients have learned information about hypertension from medical personnel education, television broadcasts, and personal experiences with the motivation of wanting to recover from hypertension. Applications/Originality/Value: Exploring how patients themselves perceive and understand these steps. Knowing the patient's perception will help in designing an educational program that is more targeted and in accordance with their needs and understanding.

Abstract

Generation Z, born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s, has grown up in a highly connected digital environment. Social media plays a central role in their daily lives, offering a platform for communication, self expression and access to information. However, social media use also poses significant challenges related to mental health. In Indonesia, those with mental health problems are often viewed as ungrateful and unlucky. This research uses empirical juridical research with an activity plan for 3 months and the scope of Gen Z. This research was conducted in Surakarta City. The materials used in this research are primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. Data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and analysis techniques, namely qualitative analysis. The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the mental health implications of the influence of social media in the view of legal awareness. The results of the discussion of this research are social media offers benefits to Gen Z, such as social support, opportunities for creative expression, and access to education. However, negative impacts are also significant, including increased anxiety, depression, cyberbullying, and sleep disorders. These factors are often trigerred by unrealistic social comparisons, pressure to be perfect, and exposure to negative content. Gen Z’s legal awareness experiences mental health, because it is triggered by criminal acts committed by Gen Z on social media that result in dealing with the law. This is influenced by knowledge of legal rules, awareness, respect and obedience or compliance with legal rules.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks fourth in Southeast Asia with a 2.3% prevalence of sensorineural hearing loss, a condition that may result from various risk factors including diabetes mellitus (DM) and obesity. DM can impair cochlear vascularization, while obesity significantly affects vascular function, potentially impacting the auditory system. This study aims to analyze the relationship between type 2 DM and obesity with sensorineural hearing loss. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on 64 participants aged 18–60 years, selected via purposive sampling. Type 2 DM was diagnosed by internal medicine consultants, and obesity was assessed using waist-to-hip ratio measurements. Data analysis employed Fisher's exact test and logistic regression. The study was ethically approved by the Health Ethics Committee of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta (No. 05/KEPK/RS.PKU/X/2024). Results showed a significant correlation between type 2 DM and sensorineural hearing loss (p=0.037) and between obesity and sensorineural hearing loss (p=0.001). The odds ratio for type 2 DM was 12.031, while for obesity it was 58.059, indicating that obesity poses a substantially higher risk. In conclusion, type 2 DM and obesity are significantly associated with the occurrence of sensorineural hearing loss, suggesting that addressing these risk factors may help reduce its prevalence.
