Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik yang belajar dengan pendekatan metaphorical thinking di kelas VIII MTsN 6 Kota Padang. Penelitian ini adalah quasy experiment dengan randomized control group only design. Populasinya adalah seluruh kelas VIII MTsN 6 Kota Padang yang terdiri dari 14 kelas dengan VIII.13 dan VIII.14 sebagai kelas sampel. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan koneksi matematis dan dianalisis secara statistic seperti uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil tes kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik yaitu kelas eksperimen 82.03 dan kelas kontrol 76.08. Uji hipotesis dengan = 0.05 diperoleh ttabel = 1.67 dan thitung = . Dengan demikian ditolak dan diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik yang belajar dengan pendekatan metaphorical tinking lebih tinggi dari yang tidak menggunakan pendekatan tersebut. Dari hasil ini diharapkan guru dapat menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran metaphorical thinking.

Abstract

Prospective teachers face complex 21st-century challenges. Therefore, prospective mathematics teachers must master several competencies to support students in acquiring and applying knowledge, collaborating with others, and developing as individuals. The purpose of this study was to measure the pedagogical, social, professional, and personality competencies of mathematics education students at the state Islamic universities in Central Sumatra region. This study used a questionnaire on the pedagogical, social, professional, and personality competencies of prospective teachers filled out by 211 students as respondents from 5 state Islamic universities. The findings of the study indicate that mathematics education students at these universities have good pedagogical and social competencies, including lesson planning, assessment, communication, and collaboration, along with solid professional competencies in subject knowledge and material development. While their personality competencies are considered very good because of their ethical behavior and strong work ethic. The universities should still improve 21st-century competencies of students in the curriculum through innovative teaching, internships, social engagement, emotional intelligence workshops, and practical training to improve their competencies and readiness for effective classroom engagement. Further research can assess its effectiveness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara motivasi kerja dan pengembangan profesional dosen dalam bidang penelitian. Motivasi kerja dosen dianalisis berdasarkan tiga kategori utama: Need for Achievement (Kebutuhan untuk Berprestasi), Need for Power (Kebutuhan untuk Berkuasa), dan Need for Affiliation (Kebutuhan untuk Berafiliasi). Pengembangan profesional dosen diukur melalui partisipasi dalam pelatihan profesional, pendidikan profesional, dan pendukung profesional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi kerja dosen dalam penelitian terutama didorong oleh kebutuhan berafiliasi, dengan skor tertinggi pada indikator ingin diterima oleh lingkungan akademik. Di sisi lain, dorongan untuk berprestasi dan mencapai sukses juga tinggi, menunjukkan bahwa dosen termotivasi oleh pengakuan dan prestasi dalam penelitian mereka. Dalam pengembangan profesional, dosen lebih banyak terlibat dalam kursus singkat dan workshop yang praktis dibandingkan dengan kegiatan yang berfokus pada teori atau jangka panjang. Analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara motivasi kerja dosen dan pengembangan profesional, di mana motivasi afiliasi dan prestasi memainkan peran penting dalam mendorong partisipasi dosen dalam berbagai kegiatan pengembangan profesional. Kesimpulannya, untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan produktivitas dosen dalam penelitian, institusi perlu menyediakan lebih banyak peluang untuk pelatihan praktis, pengakuan akademik, dan kolaborasi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar peserta didik yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) dengan hasil belajar peserta didik yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits kelas VII di MTsN 6 Agam. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen. Adapun desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperimen Design (eksperimen semu) bentuk non equivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan Uji Independent Sample T-test diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.158 maka diambil keputusan bahwa (0.158 > 0.05). Hal ini berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar peserta didik yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) dengan hasil belajar peserta didik yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits dengan perolehan rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen 2 VII.3 sebesar 89.06 dan rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen 1 VII.4 sebesar 89.06. Perbedaan rata-rata kedua kelas tersebut sebesar 2.56, sehinnga diterima dan ditolak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Small Group Discussion dalam membentuk kompetensi critical thinking dan communication peserta didik, serta untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat keberhasilan metode ini dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode penelitian lapangan (field research). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Penerapan metode Small Group Discussion di SMPN 1 VII Koto Sungai Sariak telah berkontribusi positif dalam membentuk kemampuan critical thinking dan communication skills siswa, meskipun masih menghadapi tantangan. Guru telah merancang pembelajaran berbasis kolaborasi, namun tujuan yang kurang spesifik dan panduan diskusi yang belum terstruktur menjadi hambatan. Metode ini meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi masalah dan menyampaikan pendapat, tetapi partisipasi sering terhambat oleh dominasi siswa tertentu dan dinamika diskusi yang tidak merata. Evaluasi menunjukkan kemajuan dalam analisis informasi dan penyampaian ide, meskipun keterampilan mendengarkan aktif dan pola pikir logis masih perlu ditingkatkan. Kendala seperti keterbatasan waktu, minimnya teknologi, dan rendahnya kepercayaan diri siswa dapat diatasi dengan pelatihan intensif, media pembelajaran inovatif, dan integrasi tugas kelompok. Perbaikan menyeluruh pada perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dapat mengoptimalkan metode ini untuk membangun kompetensi abad ke-21. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan berpikir komputasional mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep trigonometri. Berpikir komputasional merupakan keterampilan mendasar dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, khususnya dalam mengidentifikasi pola, melakukan abstraksi, dan merancang algoritma solusi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain post-test only, yang melibatkan partisipan yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling berdasarkan hasil tes keterampilan berpikir komputasional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek pemikiran komputasional mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah trigonometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir komputasional mahasiswa dalam memahami trigonometri dikategorikan menjadi tiga tingkatan berdasarkan interval nilai, yaitu tinggi (x ≥ 77,72) dengan 11 mahasiswa, sedang (39,46 ≤ x 77,72) dengan 37 mahasiswa, dan rendah (x 39,46) dengan 7 mahasiswa. Mahasiswa dengan keterampilan berpikir komputasional yang tinggi mampu menerapkan strategi pemecahan masalah secara sistematis seperti dekomposisi masalah, pengenalan pola, abstraksi, dan penggunaan algoritma. Sebaliknya, siswa dengan keterampilan berpikir komputasional yang rendah mengalami kesulitan memahami konsep trigonometri dasar dan kurang mampu menerapkan strategi solusi yang efektif. Temuan ini menyoroti peran penting peningkatan keterampilan berpikir komputasional dalam memperdalam pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep trigonometri. Berdasarkan hasil temuan, disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir komputasional mahasiswa dalam memahami materi trigonometri berada dalam kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah.Kata kunci: Berpikir Komputasional; Matematika; Pembelajaran Matematika; Pemecahan Masalah; Trigonometri;

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low levels of critical thinking and collaboration skills among eleventh-grade students at MA Al-Kautsar Pekanbaru, which have negatively affected their learning outcomes in Fiqh. The learning process has been predominantly teacher-centered with one-way interactions, minimal material analysis, and a lack of group collaboration. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing students' critical thinking and collaboration skills. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a randomized control group only design. The sample consisted of class XI-A (25 students) as the experimental group taught using the PBL model, and class XI-B (32 students) as the control group taught using conventional methods. Data collection techniques included tests, questionnaires, and observations. The results showed that: (1) the average critical thinking score of students in the experimental group was 84.00, higher than the control group’s 62.66, with a t-value of 10.247 > t-table value of 2.004; and (2) the average collaboration skill score in the experimental group was 81.56, compared to 64.88 in the control group, with a t-value of 5.359 > t-table value of 2.004. In conclusion, the PBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking and collaboration skills in Fiqh learning.Keywords: Problem-Based Learning, critical thinking skills, student collaboration, Fiqh.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students caused by subject matter that is too much and complex, making it difficult to understand. In addition, the motivation of students in participating in learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) is also low, which can be seen from the summative exam scores that do not reach the Learning Objective Completeness Criteria (KKTP). The purpose of this study was to determine whether the learning outcomes of students who used the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by e-LKPD Liveworksheet were higher than the Direct Instruction (DI) model in SKI subjects in class XI MAN 1 Padangsidempuan in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research is a quantitative research with experimental method. The design used is quasi experimental design with posttest only control group design approach. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling, namely class XI MIA I as the control class and XI MIA V as the experimental class. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and questionnaires. The results showed that the average score of the experimental class was 85.23, while the control class was 81.06. The results of hypothesis testing show that the t value of 2.43 is greater than t table 1.69, so it can be concluded that the PjBL model assisted by e-LKPD Liveworksheet has a significant effect on learning outcomes and student motivation in SKI subjects.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning model to learning outcomes and learning motivation for Islamic Religious Education in class VII SMPIT Dar El Iman. This research is experimental. The research design uses a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Posttest Only Control Design research design. The population in this study was class VII students at SMPIT Dar El Iman for the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 62 students. Sampling uses saturated samples. Two classes are research subjects, namely class VII Makkah as the experimental class and class VII Medina as the control class. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the manual t-test method, the data value = 5.8 > the value = 1.679. So it can be concluded that it was rejected and accepted. The number of test participants in the experimental class was 31 people with an average score of 89 and test participants from the control class were 31 with an average of 72. This means "The learning outcomes of students who use the SAVI learning model are better than the learning outcomes of students who apply the learning model. commonly used by teachers.” The magnitude of the influence of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning model on the learning motivation of class VII students at Dar El Iman Middle School is 68.43% which is classified as good.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low levels of critical thinking and self-directed learning among the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Kerinci. In the process of learning Islamic Education (PAI) and Counseling Guidance (BP), students tend to be passive, with a lack of self-directed learning and insufficient critical thinking. Moreover, the problems discussed during lessons often relate to everyday life issues. The purpose of this research is to determine the improvement in self-directed learning and critical thinking skills among the students of SMA Negeri 4 Kerinci. The research employs a quasi-experimental design. The study variables include one independent variable: the Cooperative Learning Model with Problem Posing Type, and two dependent variables: self-directed learning and critical thinking. Data were collected using questionnaires and test questions. The population for this study consists of the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Kerinci enrolled in the 2023/2024 academic year. Sampling was conducted using random sampling techniques, resulting in Class XI IPA 3 as the experimental group and Class XI IPA 4 as the control group. Hypothesis testing was carried out to determine the significant effects of the applied strategy. The hypothesis test results for self-directed learning showed an average score of 88.3 for the experimental group and 77.1 for the control group. With a t-value of 5.15 and a t-table value of 1.708, it can be concluded that self-directed learning with the Cooperative Learning Model with Problem Posing Type is more effective than conventional teaching methods. The hypothesis test results for critical thinking skills showed an average score of 89.4 for the experimental group and 68.6 for the control group. With a t-value of 3.216 and a t-table value of 1.708, it can be concluded that critical thinking skills with the Cooperative Learning Model with Problem Posing Type are superior to those achieved through conventional teaching methods.
