Abstract

Polusi udara merupakan tantangan lingkungan global yang berdampak pada kesehatan manusia, ekosistem, dan perubahan iklim. Proses fisika-kimia di atmosfer, seperti reaksi fotokimia, dinamika lapisan atmosfer, dan interaksi aerosol dengan awan, berperan penting dalam pembentukan dan dispersi polutan udara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interaksi antara proses fisika dan kimia yang menentukan nasib polutan di atmosfer, mengidentifikasi faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi dispersi polutan, serta menyusun kerangka konseptual untuk memprediksi pola distribusi polutan dalam berbagai skala. Berdasarkan studi literatur, ditemukan bahwa reaksi fotokimia memainkan peran utama dalam pembentukan ozon troposferik, sedangkan aerosol dapat mempengaruhi keseimbangan energi bumi melalui efek pendinginan atau pemanasan. Variabilitas harian dan musiman polutan udara dipengaruhi oleh kondisi atmosfer dan fenomena seperti urban heat island (UHI). Selain itu, kondisi meteorologi ekstrem seperti gelombang panas dapat memperburuk kualitas udara, sementara vegetasi dan permukaan reflektif memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap suhu dan konsentrasi polutan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan lebih dalam tentang mekanisme atmosfer yang mempengaruhi polusi udara serta membantu perancangan kebijakan pengendalian polusi yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

Cryotherapy merupakan teknologi medis yang semakin berkembang, terutama dalam penanganan cedera akut dan peradangan pada atlet. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi prinsip termodinamika dalam cryotherapy, khususnya proses perpindahan panas dan efektivitasnya dalam pemulihan cedera. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan menganalisis 21 jurnal peer-review dari Google Scholar menggunakan kata kunci seperti "cryotherapy AND thermodynamics AND athlete injury". Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode cool water immersion efektif mengurangi nyeri dan inflamasi melalui mekanisme vasokonstriksi, vasodilatasi, dan penghambatan konduksi saraf sensorik. Inovasi seperti sensor suhu otomatis dan kombinasi dengan terapi kompresi udara meningkatkan efisiensinya. Studi Smith et al. [12] membuktikan bahwa cryotherapy selama 20 menit setelah aktivitas intens dapat mengurangi inflamasi dan mempercepat pemulihan otot. Implikasinya, cryotherapy tidak hanya mengurangi nyeri dan pembengkakan tetapi juga meningkatkan performa atlet melalui regenerasi jaringan yang lebih cepat. Secara keseluruhan, cryotherapy terbukti sebagai metode pemulihan yang efisien untuk cedera olahraga jika diterapkan dengan prosedur yang tepat. Dengan memahami prinsip termodinamika, pengembangan teknik cryotherapy dapat semakin dioptimalkan untuk manfaat yang lebih besar.

Abstract

Mitra program pengabdian adalah SMAN 18 Medan, sebuah sekolah menengah atas yang memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung guru untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran berbasis riset. Namun, hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa guru masih menghadapi kendala dalam membimbing siswa untuk mengikuti Olimpiade Penelitian Siswa Indonesia (OPSI) secara optimal. Sebagai solusi, program pengabdian akan dilaksanakan melalui serangkaian pelatihan intensif dan pendampingan bagi guru-guru. Target luaran dari program pengabdian adalah meningkatnya kapasitas guru di Sekolah dalam membimbing siswa mengikuti OPSI secara efektif. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan terjadi peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di Sekolah, sehingga mendukung tercapainya tujuan SDGs Point 4 yakni Pendidikan berkualitas. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan pendekatan partisipatif dengan mengutamakan pelibatan aktif guru dalam setiap tahapan kegiatan. Program pengabdian dimulai dengan identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, pelaksanaan pelatihan dan pendampingan, hingga evaluasi hasil implementasi. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yakni telah meningkatnya kreativitas guru dalam membimbing OPSI dengan alasan 7 dari 8 tim yang diusulkan telah lolos tahap substansi dan layak melanjutkan penelitian. Pendampingan diharapkan mampu menciptakan perubahan berkelanjutan dalam pola pengajaran guru di Sekolah, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan sesuai dengan prinsip SDGs Point 4.

Abstract

Based on observations conducted at a senior high school in Medan, the previously utilized e-module proved to be underexploited, primarily due to its limited format, comprising static text, images, and video links, which failed to accommodate the varied learning preferences of students. This misalignment contributed to low impact on learning outcomes, particularly in Work and Energy. The present study sought to design a differentiated-instruction-based e-module that is pedagogically valid, practically feasible, and demonstrably effective in fostering conceptual understanding. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) framework grounded in the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), data were gathered through expert validation instruments, response questionnaires, and achievement tests. Subject matter experts rated the module highly valid, while media specialists deemed it moderately valid. Teacher feedback and field trials affirmed its practical applicability. N-gain analysis of pretest–posttest results indicated substantial learning gains. The findings underscore the module’s efficacy and pedagogical value in delivering structured, engaging, and accessible instruction.

Abstract

The rapid development of natural sciences, especially in developing the concept of physics in the health sector. Its utilization can facilitate the healing of diseases, such as using electromagnetic waves in healing diseases. This study aims to determine the benefits generated from electromagnetic waves that can help and facilitate the handling of diseases in the health sector by using a literature study method that utilizes information retrieval from several journals and trusted sources. Electromagnetic waves can be used in X-rays. Areas of the body that need to be examined through emitted X-rays. Ultrasonogram (USG) is a medical equipment used in tomography to see the fetus's condition and others where all of that is the use of Physics in the Utilization of Electromagnetic Waves which helps the health sector.

Abstract

The impact of electromagnetic radiation on health and preventive measures. Laptops emit electromagnetic radiation, including blue light from screens and microwaves from Wi-Fi modules, which pose potential cumulative health risks. This study aims to measure the electromagnetic radiation emitted by laptops, evaluate its impact on user health, and identify applicable preventive measures. The research employed a qualitative method based on library research with a content analysis approach. The findings reveal that blue light intensity ranges from 10–50 µW/cm², while microwave radiation from Wi-Fi reaches up to 2.0 mW/cm² at close distances. Health impacts include eye fatigue, accommodation disorders, and neurological effects such as headaches and fatigue due to prolonged radiation exposure. Identified preventive measures include blue light filters, screen distance adjustments, and low-power Wi-Fi technology. This study offers practical guidelines to minimize health risks associated with electronic device usage.

Abstract

Waves are vibrations that propagate, either through the media or not through the media. Sound is wave energy that comes from a sound source, namely a vibrating object. Where the purpose of this study is to find out how waves and sound affect the phenomenon of hearing. Based on the problems raised, the research method that is suitable for use is in the form of literature studies or literature studies. Literature study can be reached by collecting references consisting of several previous studies which are then compiled to draw conclusions. The sound that the human ear hears changes from a mechanical acoustic signal to an electrical signal that is passed on by the auditory nerve to the brain. The results showed that the process of hearing goes through three stages, namely the stage of transferring physical energy in the form of a sound stimulus to the hearing organ, the conversion or transduction stage, namely the conversion of the physical energy stimulation to the receiving organ and the stage of transmitting nerve impulses to the auditory cortex and of course it cannot be separated from the human hearing organ. namely ears. The process of hearing is a process that is not simple, in order to hear humans must have good hearing organs and hearing function. The organ system of hearing is divided into peripheral and central.

Abstract

After the covid 19 period ended, learning at Medan State University was conducted face-to-face and online, creating good learning media and design is part of the effort to achieve learning objectives effectively as mandated by the education system. This study aims to develop hybrid learning multimedia assisted by telegram, which is feasible, practical and makes students independent and influential. The research was conducted at the Physics Department of State University of Medan. The phases that will be carried out during the research are needs analysis, design of learning multimedia, development and validation of learning multimedia, implementation of multimedia to students, and internal and external evaluation. The resulting product is a learning multimedia that will be applied to partners, namely students of the Physics Department who take Modern Physics courses. This multimedia was sent to the Telegram group class of 2021 B and 2021 C students. The results of this study are: (a) the percentage of assessment scores for learning multimedia from material experts is 81% and the percentage of assessment scores from media experts is 83% (b) the percentage of student independence questionnaires is 83.8% (c) the percentage of student practicality questionnaires is 88.2% (d) N-gain for PSPF 2021-B is obtained, the result obtained is 0.23 because N-gain <0.23 in the low category and N-gain for PSPF 2021-C is obtained, the result obtained is 0.3 in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of TPACK-based differentiated learning on high school students' problem-solving abilities and motivation. The study, conducted at Private Senior High School PAB 8 Saentis Sei Tuan, used a quasi-experiment method with two classes: the experimental class, which used the differentiated problem solving model based on TPACK, and the control class, which used the conventional school learning model without differentiation. The results of this study indicate that the average post-test score for student problem-solving abilities in the experimental class was higher than in the control class. Statistical testing using two-way ANOVA showed that the problem-solving skills of students taught with the TPACK-based differentiated learning model demonstrated a significant influence between the learning model and motivation on students' problem-solving skills, as well as an interaction between the TPACK based problem posing learning model and motivation in terms of problem-solving skills. These findings have practical implications for educators, providing evidence that the TPACK-based differentiated problem-posing learning model is more effective in improving students' problem solving abilities than the conventional learning model, with learning motivation also playing an essential role in enhancing student problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Penelitian didasari oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep fisika siswa yang masih di bawah Kriteria Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-Modul berbasis 5E Learning Cycle yang valid, praktis, dan efektif sehingga mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model 4-D yang terdiri dari: Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. Subjek penelitian yaitu ahli materi dan ahli desain untuk validasi E-Modul, serta respon guru dan respon siswa untuk kepraktisan. Respon siswa terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu kelompok kecil berjumlah 6 siswa kelas X-7 dan kelompok besar berjumlah 35 siswa kelas X-4, serta tes untuk melihat peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X-4 sehingga diketahui keefektifan E-Modul. Hasil penelitian uji validasi yang dikembangkan dikategorikan “sangat valid”. E-Modul dikategorikan “sangat praktis” melalui hasil respon guru, uji kelas kecil, dan uji kelas besar. E-Modul dikategorikan “sangat efektif” melalui hasil tes pemahaman konsep dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,73. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa E-Modul berbasis 5E Learning Cycle valid, praktis, dan efektif sehingga mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi pengukuran. Penelitian ini menawarkan kontribusi melalui integrasi E-Modul dan pendekatan 5E Learning Cycle yang belum pernah diaplikasikan pada materi pengukuran secara spesifik.
