Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the problem based learning model assisted by interactive PowerPoint media to be significantly effective on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials at SMA Negeri 2 Muaro Jambi. This research is a form of Quasi Experiment research with the type of Posttest only control design. This study describes a causal relationship involving two randomly selected sample classes. The research instruments are interview sheets, essay tests, and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used was qualitative data analysis (observation sheets of teacher activities) and quantitative data analysis (results of the posttest and observation sheets of student activities). The results of this study showed that student learning outcomes in the experimental class were greater than those in the control class, namely 73.86% and 63.97%. Based on the statistical test, the results showed a significance value of 2-way (t-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two data. for the posttest value of the experimental class has an average of . then we get an effect size of 1.12 with a high interpretation. This shows that the class with the PBL model assisted by interactive PowerPoint media is more effective than the class with the PBL model without interactive PowerPoint. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the conclusion is that applying the problem-based learning model assisted by interactive PowerPoint media is significantly more effective in the material for electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions in class X MIPA 1 SMAN 2 Muaro Jambi.

Abstract

Education is one of the important aspects of life. Currently, technology in Indonesia is progressing very rapidly. One of the fields that cannot be separated from the influence of technology is education. Chemistry is one of the important subjects to study in high school because chemistry can improve thinking skills and stimulate student’s creative mindset. One of the materials in chemistry is buffer solutions. Buffer solution materials are often considered difficult by students because of their complex nature and use a lot of mathematical calculations. The many problems and difficulties in learning certainly make student’s interest in learning low. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of TPACK-based interactive multimedia Google Sites in increasing student’s interest in learning about buffer solution materials. The method used in this study is Literature Review or narrative literature review which aims to analyze, evaluate and synthesize all information from previous research that is relevant to the research topic. Literacy data search websites such as Mendeley and Google Scholar are used to search for articles used. The articles used are articles published between 2020 and 2024. The results of this study can be concluded that using TPACK-based interactive Google Sites multimedia as a learning media can increase student’s interest in learning.

Abstract

Dewasa ini kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi membutuhkan aktifitas pembelajaran yang lebih banyak mendorong kreativitas belajar dan memberikan kesempatan yang luas kepada siswa mengaktualisasikan gagasannya melalui pengalaman belajar berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat keberhasilan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam memberdayakan kreativitas siswa di kelas XI IPA SMA N 11 Muaro Jambi pada pokok bahasan larutan penyangga dan menentukan sejauh mana korelasi antara keberhasilan model PjBL dengan kreativitas siswa. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mix method mengikuti desain sequential eksplanatory. Subjek penelitian ditetapkan kelas XI IPA 2 melalui purposive sampling. Data-data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara substantive dan korelasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada kecendrungan model PjBL berhasil dibelajarkan selama tiga kali pertemuan berturut-turut dengan capaian rata-rata sebesar 44,14 ± 3,51; 64,04 ± 5,13; 75,25 ± 3,70 yang termasuk kategori baik. Keberhasilan model ini dibelajarkan juga paralel dengan kecenderungan meningkatnya kreativitas belajar siswa pada setiap pertemuan dengan nilai rata-rata masing-masing; 21,32 ± 6,54; 46,14 ± 7,92; 63,89 ± 9,99. Hasil ini juga didukung oleh adanya korelasi yang positif keberhasilan model PjBL terhadap kreativitas siswa mempelajari pokok bahasan larutan penyangga dengan nilai rxy = 0,66 (termasuk kategori kuat) sedangkan nilai koefisien determinasinya 43,56% (kriteria sedang).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inquiry, yaitu inquiry terbimbing dan inquiry bebas terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi redoks kelas X. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, khususnya dalam memahami konsep-konsep dasar reaksi redoks seperti bilangan oksidasi, oksidator, dan reduktor. Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi-Experimental dengan bentuk postest nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 diberi perlakuan inquiry tebimbing dan kelas X2 diberikan perlakuan inquiry bebas di SMAN 2 Bungo. Instrument yang digunakan berupa tes berpikir kritis dengan indicator merumuskan masalah, mengungkapkan fakta, memberikan argumentasi logis, mendeteksi bias, dan menarik Kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, dengan peningkatan yang lebih signifikan pada kelompok inquiry bebas. Kesimpulannya, model pembelajaran inquiry bebas lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi redoks.

Abstract

The trend in science education policy in the 21st century emphasizes the importance of scientific literacy in science education as a transferable outcome. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) development research. Development research in the field of education aims to produce products for the benefit of education. This research produces a new product in the form of e-LKPD with a scientific approach to acid-base material. The purpose of this research and development is to find out how the procedure for developing teaching materials based on a scientific approach is implemented in the inquiry-flipped classroom learning model to improve Science Literacy skills and to find out the practicality of teaching materials based on a scientific approach implemented in the inquiry-flipped classroom learning model. Based on the results of the validation carried out on material and media experts in two rounds, the results of the first material validation were 89.30%, the second material validation was 98.70%. Design validation was conducted in two rounds where the first round obtained results of 87.50% and the second round of design validation 97.50%. Based on the results obtained from chemistry teachers, the first practitioner validation obtained 87% and the second practitioner validation obtained 91%, student responses to teaching materials with a percentage of 85.50%. Based on the criteria for the interpretation of the percentage of practicality, the group evaluation (student responses) was obtained with practical criteria or feasible for revision

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine student responses to project-based learning in chemistry courses. Methodology: This research used mixed methods with a sequential explanatory design. The samples involved in this research were 90 students from the chemistry study program. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The instrument used to collect quantitative data was a questionnaire sheet distributed to students to measure responses, while the instrument to collect qualitative data was interviews conducted with chemistry students. Data analysis was carried out to process quantitative data based on descriptive statistics, and qualitative data was analyzed based on Miles and Huberman's theory and supported by documentation studies. Main Findings: The results obtained from this research are that chemistry students' responses to project-based learning are classified as good. The importance of the Project Based Learning Model (PjBL) lies in its ability to inspire active involvement in solving real problems, thus facilitating the development of critical and analytical thinking skills. Novelty/Originality of this study: The latest research is that the research sample involved was from the chemistry education study program to measure the response to project-based learning. This research is limited by only measuring responses, so researchers do not know the truth of the project-based learning process. So, recommendations that can be given in further research are to directly implement the project-based learning process to strengthen the questionnaire results in this research.

Abstract

This study developed and validated an Ethno-STEAM integrated e-module to enhance students’ conservation skills using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Expert validation results showed average scores of 4.6 for content, 4.875 for design, and 4.5 for practitioners, categorized as “very good” (interval 4.21–5.00). These findings confirm the feasibility of the e-module in terms of content quality, presentation, language, and design without significant revisions. Implementation results demonstrated notable improvements in students’ science literacy. Prior to the intervention, students were distributed at level 1 (23.40%), level 2 (50%), and level 3 (26.60%), with no students reaching levels 4 or 5. After implementation, the distribution shifted to level 1 (7.40%), level 2 (10%), level 3 (40%), level 4 (36.70%), and level 5 (5.90%). The novelty of this research lies in integrating Ethno-STEAM with local wisdom, which not only improves science literacy but also fosters conservation values such as appreciation, pride, and care for local culture. The e-module is therefore recommended as an effective, scientific, and character-oriented medium for chemistry learning.

Abstract

The material on atomic structure contains abstract concepts so it is often considered difficult by students. Therefore, innovative and engaging learning media are needed to help students understand the material more effectively. One alternative is the development of a pictorial story e-book integrated with a scientific approach to encourage critical and scientific thinking skills. The research aimed to determine the development process and feasibility of a pictorial story e-book on atomic structure material using a scientific approach. The research used the Lee and Owens development model. The instruments used were interview guidelines and questionnaires. The developed product was validated by a material expert and a media expert, assessed by a chemistry teacher, and tested on a small group of students. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the average scores from the material expert and media expert were 4,5 and 4,57, respectively, both categorized as “very feasible”. The teacher assessment obtained an average score of 4,8 with the category “very good”, while students responses showed a feasibility percentage of 83,14%, categorized as “very good”. Therefore, the developed e-book is considered feasible as a chemistry learning material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman serta kreativitas peserta didik pada materi indikator asam basa yang bersifat konseptual dan abstrak, disertai keterbatasan bahan ajar yang mendukung pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Selain itu, penggunaan bahan ajar yang kurang interaktif menyebabkan keterlibatan peserta didik belum optimal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi bahan ajar yang mampu meningkatkan aktivitas dan kreativitas dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-LKPD materi indikator asam basa berbasis Project Based Learning dengan bantuan aplikasi Canva, serta menilai kelayakan dan respons pengguna terhadap produk yang dikembangkan dalam upaya meningkatkan kreativitas peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Lee & Owens yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Uji coba terbatas dilakukan uji coba kelompok kecil pada peserta didik di SMA Negeri 17 Muaro Jambi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan berdasarkan penilaian ahli, guru, serta respons peserta didik yang tergolong positif. Penggunaan e-LKPD berbasis PjBL juga terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan dan kreativitas peserta didik melalui aktivitas proyek yang interaktif yang dapat dilihat dari hasil peningkatan kreativitas dengan skor rata-rata nilai yang diperoleh 70-85, sehingga berpotensi diterapkan lebih luas dalam pembelajaran kimia. Dengan demikian, e-LKPD ini layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar inovatif dan direkomendasikan untuk pengujian lebih luas.
