Abstract

This study aims to describe the analysis of the novel "Ziarah" by Iwan Simatupang based on the features of contemporary literature. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with descriptive analysis methods. Data collection techniques used in this study were library techniques, listening, and taking notes. The results show that the analysis of contemporary literary features in Iwan Simatupang's Ziarah novel consists of anti-character, anti-plot, mysterious and magical atmosphere, anti-logic, absurd or all-odd, as well as isolated and complex. Thus, it can be concluded that almost all contemporary features contained in this Ziarah novel are only transcendental Sufistic or mystical and tend to return to local traditions or colors that are not present in this novel.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the meaning contained in the short story Ibu yang Anaknya Diculik Itu by Seno Gumira Ajidarma by paying attention to the signs in the short story. The approach used is the semiotic approach of Charles Sanders Pierce. The method in this study used a qualitative descriptive method. The meaning of the sign according to Charles Sanders Pierce is the signifier (representament), object, and interpretant. Based on Pierce's concept of semiotics, the results of the study show the meaning of the signs found in the short story Ibu yang Anaknya Diculik Itu by Seno Gumira Ajidarma, which is about a mother who lost her child due to kidnapping by the authorities. Condemns the kidnappers and expresses his claim for the injustice of the fate of his son who does not know where and how he is doing. This short story reveals the socio-political criticism of the New Order regime, the many injustices experienced by the community over the political interests of the leaders. If someone whose existence is a threat to the rulers then they will do everything possible to eliminate his traces.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the meaning in the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang by looking at the signs in the novel. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The source of this research is the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang. The data in this study are in the form of words in the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang about the signs in the novel. The theory used in this study is the semiotic concept of Charles Sanders Pierce. According to Charles Sanders Pierce in the process of meaning there are three stages, namely representament, object, and interpretant. Based on the signs that have been found, the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang has a meaning, namely death. From the meaning of this novel, it wants to describe social criticism. Where in this life we will face something that is certain, namely death. Everyone will experience it like it or not, and like it or not. Human awareness about death is still in the form of fear and anxiety. Suggestions for this research are that it is necessary to study more deeply and add data to strengthen the analysis. The researcher gives suggestions for further researchers who want to analyze using the object of the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang to use a different approach to add broader knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a contemporary poem entitled Rumahku yang Biru using a structuralism approach. This study uses a qualitative approach with the research method used in writing that is descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is Arifin C. Noer's poem entitled Rumahku yang Biru. The results of this study indicate that the poem belongs to the type of contemporary poetry, this can be seen from the results of the study of the physical structure and inner structure that builds the poem. As a suggestion, this research can be investigated more deeply so that the results obtained are more accurate.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the structure and interpretation of Symbolic meaning. The structure is a story building element including: elements of theme, plot, setting, characters, and characterizations, as well as the mandate. Interpreting the symbolic meaning in the story is expected to increase knowledge. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The data are in the form of words, sentences, and paragraphs in the story of Belalai Raja, Beranak Beruk story, and the story of Nek Demang Nunggit in Kunaung by Iskandar Zakaria 1981. The data collection technique used in this research is literature study technique. The data analysis technique is done by classifying the data related to the structure and interpreting the symbolic meaning. Then describe the structure and symbolic meaning and finally draw conclusions from the data that has been describe. The results obtained in this study are the structure of the theme, plot, setting, characters and characterizations, as well as mandate. The three stories contain different themes. The story of the king’s trunk contains the theme of injustice, the story of giving birth to a monkey bears the theme of patience and gratitude and the story of Nek Demang Nunggit contains the theme of a gamble ending in disaster. All three stories use a forward plot. The setting used includes the setting of place, time, and atmosphere. Characters in the story are grouped into main characters, protagonists, antagonists, developing, and additional. The story of the king’s trunk contains a mandate that is to be a fair and wise leader, the story of the berak bears contains a mandate that is to accept the test patiently and not give up. The story of Nek Demang Nunggit contains a mandate that is not to bet anything in a prohibited game such as fighting cocks. The symbols contained in the story of the king’s trunk are the elephant symbol which means wisdom, the story of Beranak Beruk has a ring symbol which means magical power and the Nek Demang Nunggit story has a rooster symbol which means strength. The three stories can be concluded to have a complete structure. The three stories contain interpretations of life views and character values that provide good values. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur dan interpretasi makna simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik studi pustaka. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mengklasifikasikan data terkait struktur dan menginterpretasikan makna simbolik. Kemudian mendeskripsikan struktur dan makna simbolik dan yang terakhir menarik kesimpulan dari data-data yang telah dideskripsikan. Hasil penelitian yaitu ketiga cerita mengandung tema yang berbeda. Cerita Belalai Raja mengandung tema ketidakadilan, cerita Beranak Beruk mengandung tema kesabaran dan rasa syukur dan cerita Nek Demang Nunggit mengandung tema pertaruhan berakhir malapetaka. Ketiga cerita menggunakan alur maju. Latar yang digunakan meliputi latar tempat, waktu, dan suasana. Tokoh dalam ketiga cerita dikelompokan atas tokoh utama, protagonis, antagonis, berkembang, dan tambahan. Cerita Belalai Raja mengandung amanat yaitu jadilah seorang pemimpin yang adil dan bijaksana. Cerita Beranak Beruk mengandung amanat yaitu menerima ujian dengan sabar dan tidak berputus asa. Cerita Nek Demang Nunggit mengandung amanat yaitu jangan mempertaruhkan sesuatu dalam permainan yang dilarang seperti mengadu ayam. Adapun simbol yang terdapat dalam cerita Belalai Raja yaitu simbol gajah yang bermakna kebijaksanaan, cerita Beranak Beruk terdapat simbol cincin yang bermakna kekuatan magis dan cerita Nek Demang Nunggit terdapat simbol ayam jago yang bermakna kekuatan. Mengandung interpretasi pandangan hidup dan nilai karakter yang memberikan nilai kebaikan.

Abstract

As one of the literary genres, poetry has also begun to experience new forms of adaptation in the world of digital literature. One of these forms is audio-visual literature. Audio-visual poetry uses media such as YouTube as its publication medium. This can be seen in the emergence of youtube accounts that consistently produce audio-visual poems. The audio-visual poems on several accounts have even been watched by millions of viewers. This study aims to determine the physical and mental structure of audio-visual poems on these accounts and to describe the appearance of audio-visual poetry on Youtube digital media. This research is included in descriptive qualitative research. This study analyzes 12 Youtube audio-visual poems that are considered the most popular. The audio-visual poems were taken from 6 different Youtube channels, namely the poems “Ajari Aku untuk Melepaskanmu” and “Rindu untuk Ayah” from Pena Safa's Youtube account. Poems “Ketika Kukira Aku Istimewa” and “Harapan yang Tumbuh, Hati Yang Patah”from the Fictionalism Youtube account. The poems “Curahan Hati Seorang Perokok” and “Rokok dan Kamu 2” from the Normantin TV Youtube account. Poems “Cinta” and “Rasa dan Perasaan” from Ega Nugraha's Youtube account. The poems “Sakitnya Aku Mencintaimu” and “Ingin Menangis Sebentar Saja” from the Youtube account Jejak Sulas. The poems "“Menangislah” and “Desember dan Lukanya”Some poems such as "When I Think I'm Special" and “Cinta” are not the work of the Youtube account owner, but are the work of other people who are read out. The poem “Ketika Kukira Aku Istimewa” is the work of Fiersa Bersari and the poem “Cinta” is a famous poem by Khalil Gibran. The aspects analyzed are the physical and mental structure as well as the audio-visual form of poetry on the digital media Youtube. Most of Youtube's audio-visual poems that have a high number of viewers do not yet have a complete physical and mental structure of poetry. Audio Visual forms on Youtube audio visual poetry are very free and depend on the creativity of the owner.

Abstract

This research was conducted using a semiotic code study. The focus of semiotics used in this study is based on the concept of Roland Barthes, with the aim of knowing the codes in the short story Tamu by Budi Darma. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method in literary works, namely the short story Tamu by Budi Darma in analyzing it. While the reading technique was used for data collection used by researchers, besides that note-taking techniques were also used in the research conducted. while the data analysis technique used in this research is to use descriptive analysis method. The results of the analysis of this research are the codes in the semiotics of Roland Barthes' concept, namely the hermeneutic code, connotation code, symbolic code, action code, and cultural code. The 10 data consist of 3 hermenuetic codes, 1 connotation code, 3 symbolic codes, 2 action codes and 1 cultural code.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Dinamika Sosial dalam novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S.Chudori. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Aspek yang dinilai yaitu perubahan sosial pada novel “Laut Bercerita.” Hasil analisis menemukan bahwa adanya dinamika sosial yang terdapat pada novel “Laut Bercerita” karya Leila S. Chudori. Simpulan ini menunjukkan banyaknya perubahan dinamika sosial yang dapat pembaca temukan dan juga banyak memberikan pesan-pesan yang dapat kita ambil.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai sosial dalam novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Aspek yang dinilai yaitu: aspek ekonomi, aspek politik, aspek pendidikan, aspek religi, aspek budaya, dan aspek kemasyarakatan. Hasil analisis menemukan bahwa adanya nilai-nilai sosial yang terdapat pada novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori. Simpulan ini menunjukkan bahwa novel Laut Bercerita mengandung banyak sekali nilai-nilai sosial yang memberikan pesan-pesan penting tentang hubungan sosial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk- bentuk budaya patriarki dalam novel Kim Ji-yeong Lahir 1982 Karya Cho Nam-joo. Metode yang digunakan kualitatif-deskriptif. Sumber data yang disajikan menjadi objek penelitian adalah potongan-potongan teks dari novel. Aspek-aspek yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriminasi terhadap perempuan dan bentuk budaya patriarki. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bentuk-bentuk negatif dari budaya patriarki seperti bentuk deskriminasi pada perempuan yaitu ketidakadilan yang didapatkan perempuan serta perlakuan yang tidak mengenakan. Eksploitasi pada Kim Ji-yeong mendapatkan prilaku tidak sopan atau seperti pelecehan seksual secara tidak langsung. Kemudian marginalisasi yaitu tindakan membuat perempuan tidak mendapatkan suatu keadilan. Bentuk stereotipe penilaian buruk terhadap perempuan. Kekerasan seksual pada perempuan secara biologis dan psikis.
